MobileMe :: IDisk Not Allowing Sites On IWeb To Be Deleted
May 7, 2012So, by June all my iDisk content will be gone forever? Whatever happens my issue right now is that: I already switched to iCloud. Probably about a year ago I thought I "unpublished" my sites from iWeb, took them offline or whatever. Well, my iWeb sites are online and now that iWeb is discontinued the only way to access my iWeb sites are through my MobileMe iDisk.
I want to delete the blogs, posts, photos, etc from iWeb but the trashcan icon is not illuminated and it will not allow me to delete the content. How do I get rid of this stuff!? Or will it even matter because it will disappear June 30? I have been browsing the discussion board and haven't seen any recent questions pertaining to this specific problem.

Jul 27, 2009I've had my macbook for almost a year and just recently used iweb to try to start my webpage. I've never built a webpage either, so I'm pretty new at all of this. I have a domain thru [URL] and I put together a home page and tried publishing it multiple times. When I hit the publish button on iweb it loads and loads and loads and loads and never ends. Not sure if it's on the iweb or godaddy side that isn't allowing it to load.

Nov 9, 2010I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account

In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? And, if not, is there a way that I can find the theme data in Finder and copy and paste that into the theme data files in iWeb 09?

Oct 4, 2007I have no password on my idisk public folder. When I connect via a web browser (safari, firefox, ie 6) it still asks for a password. I have set and removed the password countless times. I connect via: ([URL], the public as user and the password). Only in firefox it asks for the password, I hit cancel without typing anything, it asks again, I hit cancel again and then I get access.
In IE6 and safari it asks once for the password, doesn't accept whatever I type and then loads forever without ever showing me the contents. It seems there is a permission problem or so. even when I set a password it will not accept it. i turn password off and still no luck. Why do I pay 100 bucks and then I can't use the idisk public folder? Logging into the idisk itself via a browser works fine. I just can't give anybody access to my idisk public folder even when I use the recommended browsers.

Apr 16, 2009I have used CandyBar to change the icon for my iDisk. However I have run into some strangeness On the desktop, if I quit and then reconnect to the iDisk it will show the new icon for a moment and then change it back to the default purple drive with the cloud picture. yet, in the finder on the left hand side it shows the new icon. But at the top of the finder window it shows the default icon. WTF?
I have tried changing it in CandyBar several times but this is always the behaviour after the changes

Apr 20, 2009New here and new to making websites. I am making a site to showcase my music, and iWeb was very simple to use. The problem is the only way I can put music on the site is if i drag the mp3 file to the page. After putting 15-20 songs on the page, it takes a very long time to load the page because of all the files. I would much rather host the songs on another site such as imeem.com and place the music player on the page. it would make the page load very quickly, as well as let the visitors hear the music.
i dont want to shrink the files because the quality is much worse. i need to find a way to put many streaming music players on the page. is there a way to do this? i've looked around the forums and found nothing, and iweb didn't have anything in the help files.

In mozilla I am able to goto the home page but if I click on any of the links I receive "server not found" error message. Oct 13, 2010On Safari, it keeps giving me error messages saying "Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher has quit unexpectedly" and "QTKit has quit unexpectedly". Sometimes every few seconds. I tried using a "MultiSafari" v.4.0.5 and it does the same thing. I suspect it is because of deleting the contents of the Caches folder (which I do regularly, but never had problems with).

Oct 24, 2010I recently "upgraded" to Snow Leopard and Quicktime X. Since then, there has been one increasingly annoying problem: Anytime a webpage has a movie (more specifically, a movie with its own URL), it opens it up with QT in the browser and automatically starts playing the movie. Despite deleting QT X and reverting to QT 7, the problem persists, no matter the browser (I have 4).
So 2 questions:1. Why is it that this was NOT a problem at all in Tiger (simply disabled the autoplay in QT, worked for everything), but is a huge problem in Snow Leopard?
2. More importantly, how do I fix it without writing a Terminal script that is the length of War and Peace?

Jan 27, 2009Is anyone having an issue with iWeb '09s FTP connections? I have a server running Windows Server 2003. For a while now I have been using filezilla and it has worked just fine.
Using iWeb 09', I have it configured the same way as i do in filezilla. It connects to my server and logs in fine, but when it try to do the test upload, it says it is unable to write. Now why would iWeb not be able to write by filezilla can?

Mar 7, 2009Has anyone had problems with re-publishing to a folder, after updating web pages with iWeb? What happens for me is that iWeb creates a 2nd 'site' folder within the already existing 'site' folder, duplicating all the web pages, which seriously confuses the server! The only way I have so far found to avoid this is to delete everything from my website folder before re-publishing. I'd be grateful if someone has an answer to this.
