Is there a free app that is capable of editing MPEG 4? I used handbrake to rip some dvds so I dont have to carry them around, but one is all out of order. iMovie apparently doesnt support .mp4. so is there an app that I can use to put this movie back in order?

I have tried iMovie and i managed to remove a portion I did want. But, now im not able to save the movie after i have edited that portion. Seems like it just keeps it as "my project." any help regarding how I can manage this.The i7 works fast with this but it takes me forever trying to figure this out!

Here in NZ, Freeview HD uses MPEG-4 and AAC, and I can't find any information about whether EyeTV supports these formats. Does anyone know?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've tried using the native email application in Mac as well as MS Office 2008 for Mac Entourage. I'm quite displeased with both of them since neither were able to sync correctly with my work Outlook. I'm wondering if there is another alternative to these two programs to access my work email through Outlook? The issue I had with the other two programs is that it wouldn't pick up all my folders/emails so it was basically like half of my Outlook file was there and the other half was completely gone. I needed an email program that will work almost as well, if not as good, as Outlook on my Mac and I'm not sure of what other programs are out there that can accomplish this. Any ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Office 2008 Home and Student installed on my MBP. I recently upgraded to a hosted Exchange solution and they offer a download of Entourage 2008 that will allow Exchange Server interaction.
When I loaded that version over top of my install, Entourage will not open. It gives me an error about the identity not being able to open the item.
I went to the website and looked for the program called "Burn" but I couldn't tell what files it uses. I have .avi and .mkv files and I need them to play on a DVD player. I know if they are converted to Video_TS files that BURN will put those on a DVD but I need to know if I can go straight from .mkv and .avi or mpeg to a DVD that can be played on a DVD player using the Burn program.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open the file, I get the following error: "The movie could not be opened. The file is not a movie file. Following others' advice on a similar thread in this forum, I downloaded the Perian plug-in for Quicktime, and bought the upgrade to Quicktime Pro and the additional QuicktimeMPEG2 upgrade (though I think my file is just an mpeg). But I'm still getting the same error message. I have been able to play the video with VLC, so I don't think the file is the problem. The reason I'm not just using VLC is that I need to be able to go forward and backward frame-by-frame because I'm using still images for a publication. Also, if there's an alternative program to Quicktime and VLC that allows moving forward and backwards frame by frame and taking snapshots, that would also solve the problem.

I'm trying to convert the file to an .mov file that is 23.976 fps and plays at 23.976 fps, but every time I try the result looks choppy. Does anyone know how I can convert a strange file like this to a proper, 23.976 fps file, preferably an .mov?

after the conversion the length of the video is only 1h 40min.

Anyone else having trouble opening MPEG files in QuickTime? I was able to fine until installing Leopard. The file is not corrupt or anything. I tried several MPEG files and none of them open. I get the following message.

I got a "Get info" on the file and found out that it is a MPEG-1 audio file type, unlike all other of my songs that are mp3's. I am trying to create a custom ISO for installing linux on dedicated servers, based on a standard ISO. For this, I need to edit a file which contains parameters for partitioning the HD, as I have replaced the supplied HD with a larger one on many machines, and want to modify partition creation, so I do not have to install fdisk and modify the /home partition later.
I have the ISO and can mount it, and edit the necessary file, but I cannot save it back into the ISO.
How should I do this? I've googled widely and found nothing.

The audiobook is about getting your life in balance by looking through the lenses of the ancient Navajo Coyoteway ceremony. All the sales are going to charity and I need to help put it in the proper format on a website. Here are the instructions I've been given: "Rip the cd's into a relatively high compression mp3 format and tag each file. There are between twenty and thirty files on each cd and the idea is that tagging them for an mp3 player will be very helpful for reading the book and listening to the mp3's together.
Each file needs to be tagged in a way that references a specific chapter in the book. The idea of the relatively high compression will enable the smallest possible zip file (containing all three cd's) to be downloaded." I think I understand most of that but I don't really know where to start. They specifically told me to not use iTunes, I don't know why but that is what they told me. There are three CD's, each with about 30 tracks and I need to put each track in mp3 format and tag each file according to the page number of the book.
I need some helping doing some (hopefully) simple HTML editing on my customized Google homepage. View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, so I have been a life long pc user who recently bought one of the new unibody mbps. On my old pc I had a large collection of .mp3 files that i moved over to my mac. My problem is that on the pc I could easily edit all of the information by right clicking and going to properties. On my mbp I right click on the file go to get info but it wont let me edit any of the stuff in the "more info" section, like the year recorded, comments, album, or title. Is there anyway to do this? I am really ocd about how my music is organized and like it all to be the same. (seeing unorganized ipods drives me crazy) I know you can do this in itunes but i want to do it on the actual files so it is changed permanently.
