Jul 2, 2010I'm using Reader Notifier but it somehow stopped working. When I check for new feeds, it says "Updating" but nothing happens. I tried deleting all the preferences.

Software :: Apple Bluetooth Keyboard Stopped Working / Itunes Stopped Working
May 13, 2009I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...

However, it checks for email really randomly.
Sometimes I'll click on the mail icon and it hasn't checked for mail in over 15min.
Is there anyway to force it to check for new email every minute?

Jan 20, 2004This may appear to be a hardware issue, but I'm of the opinion that it will prove to be a software problem, so I'd appreciate it if the topic was left here. Over the past couple of days I've had problems with getting the internal speakers on my 1.33ghz PB to work while I've been logged into my user area (the only user area on the computer). When the computer is initially booted up I hear the usual boing! but once I'm signed in I can't get any sound out of the speakers. I've been to 'Sound' in System Preferences and checked that all of the settings are correct and that Mute isn't selected, and everything appears to be ok. I've also tried inserting a movie DVD to see if this changes anything, but the DVD starts a plays the video, but still no sound.
I haven't dropped the computer, or spilt water on it, so I would think it is almost definitely a software issue (backed up by the fact that I get the initial BOING!! sound). I never play the speakers at full volume so I would very much doubt that they'd be shot either. I've tried shutting down and restarting the computer, but this does not always fix the problem. A perfect example of how erratic the problem is that when I booted the computer around 10 minutes ago there was no sound - tried playing music in iTunes and nothing... I've just started iTunes and wahey - music playing through the speakers! Also, last night while playing a DVD, the sound was perfect for a good 20 minutes or so, but then all sound from the speakers was lost and only the video was running.

Sep 17, 2009I have been editing a movie for hours, now, and iMovie has decided to stop working. I am able to skim the raw video that is displayed on the bottom, but my edited video on top does nothing. I can't play it back in the preview window, either while skimming or selecting whole clips to play. It will not open in full screen, either. I have restarted my computer, and I have repaired disk permissions. This is a very important movie, and I do not want to start over. What steps can I take to fix this problem and, more importantly, make sure that it doesn't happen again?

Jun 3, 2010My Mail.app has been working fine with my [URL] account for yonks but has now suddenly stopped working. I either get a constant spinner next to the account or a warning sign that says something about bandwidth limits exceeded.
My blackberry gets my email fine, as does Evolution on Ubuntu 10.04. This has been on going for about a week and I've even archived any messages that have lots of pictures in them. Still no luck.
Mail is working with my other google apps accounts for about four different domains but _not_ with my [URL] account.

Oct 10, 2009I have been using Adium for years, previously on my iBook and now on my new MacBook without any problems. Recently, it stopped working. I use my AIM and Jabber screennames on it. When I open it, it shows that I am connected and online. However, it tells me that none of my buddies are online, even though they are. My friends have also told me that I don't appear on their Buddy lists even when my Adium tells me I'm online.
I downloaded the latest version of Adium and this didn't help. It still does it. As far as I know, it's only the AIM that isn't working. I think the Jabber still works, but I am not positive. This also occasionally happens with my AIM app on my iPod Touch when it happens on my Adium. I am assuming this means there is something wrong with my AIM screenname and not necessarily with Adium? Do you think getting a new AIM screenname would help? It's definitely just the AIM that isn't working. Jabber works fine.

Jun 2, 2010I just tried NetNewsWire, and Vienna, NNW is nice but Google Reader has a great feature that these both are without.
In GReader, when I mouse over or scroll down it marks that one article as read. No pushing buttons, clicking next, nothing. Just read.
I want to be able to pre-download all of my current unread items, AND the pictures. Gears for GReader does NOT download the pictures. I have a lot of picture only feeds, like lolcats, that I would like to let build up for a week and then on my long plane ride home, check out.
In NNW I can smash the space bar and get this accomplished, but I'd rather just scroll through, or at least have the option to.
I don't really like the look of Vienna, it's too unpolished, NNW is a tad better and has better options for like the prefs.
It would also be interesting to be able to give specific instructions, or adjust certain settings on a per-feed basis. Such as filter out cartain keywords (Without using a service such as feedrinse).
I hat vienna because once I click on a feed, it marks everything as read. That's bad for me as I sometimes just open a mega feed and read one or two items. I have maby 20 or 30 feeds, but usually get 2-300 new items a day. Most are junk like Joystick, but I like to sit down and go through the important ones while im taking a break or eating lol.
I know you can't but it'd be interesting to allow some feeds to auto queue an embedded movie, let me view it offline (or off my VPN.

Nov 22, 2009for about a year i've been using iweb to create a simple web page, which includes photo album pages, each with several albums that were put there simply by dragging and dropping an "event" from iphoto via the media browser. about a week ago, i tried to add some new photos and iweb won't take them. when i drag an event from the media browser to the albums page i want to add it to, i see a lightened image of the thumbnail, the green circle with the "+" sign, and the red icon with the number of images, but when i let go of the mouse button, the image bounces back to the media browser and nothing gets added to the web page. i've tried creating new, blank pages and adding them there, all with the same result.

OS X :: Card Reader Is Not Working?
Apr 5, 2010I have a AMICROE 42-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader that I use to transfer pictures from my camera's memory stick (SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo 1.0 GB) to my mac. It always works but the last few times I have tried to use it it wont show up in iPhoto or anywhere else. I looked in disk utillity (which I think is the right place to look) but it is nowhere on my computer. What is wrong, what do I do? I also don't want to spend any money buying a new one or getting it fixed if it has a problem, but it is working coz the little blue light is coming on.
It has many different ports for different memory sticks and it works with some other cameras in different ports, I can't work out why it is doing this!

Ordinarily I would suspect that my �2.99 card reader is faulty and just buy a new one...however I also have an iMac, and it works perfectly with that.

Apr 10, 2012I am using the latest Safari 5.1.5 on my MBP with OSX Lion 10.7.3. I noted that when I click on Reader in the URL line, sometimes I can't get the function to work. That is, I don't get the uncluttered view with the print option. I can manage without the function as there are other print commands and I use Evernote as well. I just wondered if the Reader function gets disable sometimes. To be clear, I am not referring to the Reading List function.

May 29, 2012My wife's Mac Book Pro (around 18 months old) gets an error message when she hooks up our Canon camera. It says the USB is drawing to much power and has been disabled. She has downloaded 1000's of pictures without problems and now that message pops up. And she doesn't have anything extra plugged in since the last downlaod around a week ago. Also the SD card reader isn't working. When the card is plugged in nothing happens and we can't find the card in iphoto. So now she has no way to get the pictures on iphoto. It's not the cord or the card because I can download them without any problem on my Windows computer.
