View 3 Replies View RelatedI have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) an Airport Extream Version 6.0 Airport Utility (600.92) That I use with two airport express stations, an Apple TV 2nd Generation with latest software up date. Also have Ipad 3rd Generation and two I phone 4's. Issue: After installing the latest Airport Utility software update I'm unable to connect to my remote speakers in iTunes. The speakers are visible in the pop up menu but iTunes times out when trying to connect. If I use remote to select Apple TV and then via Apple TV select my Computers Library I'm able to play music on the Apple TV / Home Speakers... but still not the Airport Express Stations.
When using remote on the iPhone or iPad the speakers are visible as well but I'm unable to select them... iTunes times out. I can steam music from that is on my iPhone or iPad to each individual speaker, but multiple speaker control is not available and the music from my library is not available. I believe the problem is in the Airplay feature of iTunes and I believe the problems arise when you install the latest version of Airport Utility. You can play on remote speakers, only one at a time, and only if you have the music on a stand alone device (iPhone or iPad)... in summary, bypass iTunes and you can be successful... marginally successful.
Speakers pop/click and then audio goes in and out while watching videos. This has happened on and off for a few years, and seems to be pretty random. I'll be watching a video on youtube and this popping sound will happen sporadically, and audio will mute, come back, switch from headphones to built in speakers, back and forth, maybe even staying muted for a few mins. I have a 15" MacBook Pro circa 2010.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I were to connect a Mac Pro to a TV via the DVI output and using a DVI to HDMI cable, could I still work on the computer at the same time while the movie is being played on the TV. I want to rip my whole DVD collection to the HDD.
I know that I could do this with AppleTV but I want to be able to go directly from the Mac to the TV and be able to play movies in 1080 vs. 720.
Also, am I right to assume that the video quality would be the same through the Mac as opposed to a DVD player?
I've just purchased a new macbook air 11.6 in and when watching movies (not in ful screen) the screen dims, Im assuming because of inactivity with keyboard, etc. I don't like to watch all movies in full screen, so how do I change the settings to allow for longer 'inactive' times? Meaning, I don't want the screen to dim after only 5 minutes.

I have been experiencing crashes while playing games and watching a few movies on my MBpro 15" Mid-2010 i5 Gt330m. It will just lock up all of a sudden and then play a continuous sound loop with a black screen. I then have to force shut it down, hold the power key down the first time-nothing....then try a second time to hold it down to shut it off and then it goes off.
Tried the update recommended by TS4088 and its still doing it. I have 10+ panic reports in the last few weeks. Can't play SC2 for more than 5-10 minutes. Took it to the Apple Store today and they ran a check and of course everything comes up fine. I can get it to crash every time by playing sc2 about 5 minutes in, always on minimum settings.

Is this normal? When watching a 1080p movie on my mbp, in order for it to play smoothly with no dropped frames etc, I have to close everything except for VLC. I have to close mail, itunes, I mean everything except for VLC. Is this normal? otherwise I will get many dropped frames every 5 min or so.

I'd like to have the imac speakers (external speakers) playing at the same time as the applt TV speakers. Seems that's possible in itunes by simply selecting both speakers.... however....
There is a sync issue.
The Apple TV is probably 1/3 second out of sync with the imac. I'm going to hardwire the apple TV to the router (the Mac is already hardwired to a router) which should help.
I've tried wireless connection from Mac to router to Apple TV and it makes the delay worse. Seems I really need to somehow insert a delay the signal frmo the Mac to the Mac's external speakers....
Is that even possible or am I wasting my time thinking about using both speaker systems concurrently?

What I'm wondering however is - Can I get iTunes/Movies to AUTOMATICALLY update, when new items are added to this external folder on HDD/H.264? It hasn't been autoupdating thus far.Simply selecting ALL again HDD/H.264/(select all) and drag copying to iTunes/Movies DOES however add the new titles. Of course this has to be done every time I add something new.

After upgrading to Lion on my Macbook Air, I can't seem to be able to connect to my external speakers through airport express. Problem: Whenever I buy a new movie, it stores them on my media drive by defcult. I want it to store them on my Moies drive.

I love AirPlay. I use it on my iPod Touch the moment I get home to play music to my speakers connected via AirPort Express. I use it on my iPad too when i'm watching a movie..
Even on my MBP when listening to music from iTunes. But Movies in iTunes don't work. The AirPlay icon in a movie playing in iTunes only shows "computer" and doesn't show any other options.
today, i was testing the new mlb.tv player on my computer (played well once i ran it on firefox 3, safari still has issues here) and it had an option to go fullscreen on my screen and put it on my external monitor. the problem is that every time i expanded it to full screen on the external, if i were to click anything on the internal screen, the screen on the external reverts to a small screen. is there anything in the settings that i'm missing so that i can keep the full screen up even while i'm surfing the net on my internal?

the external speakers (and the earphones) I use for my i-mac suddenly stopped playing sound from my imac. They do work though when I plug them to the i-pod. My imac speakers work perfectly. Any ideas what's happening?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm hoping someone can help me out on this little problemmy usual set up is a pair of speakers connected with jacks via an m-audio usb audio interface, with an external monitor connected via mini-dvi to dvi.now for some reason my audio interface has randomly broken (on a side note, could a power cut have somehow broken a usb peripheral connected to my macbook whilst it was asleep?) so i've hooked up my speakers to the line out to rca. Now for some reason, when i plug the mini dvi connector into my macbook i get an incredible amount of hum. not just a little, alot!
