View 1 RepliesI've got to setup/configure three new iPad2's on the mac that I have which is already associated with an iPad2. I know that there is a way to have iTunes not sync/backup a new iPad 2 as I've done it before, but I cannot remember how to do it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new IPAD and just bought APple TV. Need to set up home sharing on my account and have followed Support options wherein you log into ITunes, choose advanced, then allow Home sharing. There is no place to even sign in to ITunes as i have always seen before. Cannot start ITunes on Laptop (linked to IPAD) at all but can from Browser. Trying to share content from my IPAD and APple TV.

I have a mac book with my itunes account on it and the machine is also sync with my iphone. I need to return my laptop to my friend and have bounght a new Imac. Can I set up my existing itunes account with my new imac? I'm not too worried about transferring the files I can reload those later but I wanted to avoid setting up another account as it's already sync with my iphone. is that possible? or do I set up a new account on my Imac and then how do I put this on my phone?Â

I have the Australin app called Ninenewsbreak and the app works well on my iphone4 BUT the sound won't work on my iPad.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times and still no sound. This app is for the iPhone and iPad according to the advert in the app store. The sound works great on the iPad for other apps downloaded.Â

I moved my MobileMe account to iCloud and want to set up my Mac so I can call my new iPad with FaceTime. In the iCloud system preferences I have "Mail and Notes" unchecked but the sole email account in Mail preferences is pointed to the iCloud mail server and I am receiving Mail. The account appears in Mail and seems to be functioing normally. If I check the "Mail and Notes" option in the system preferences a second iCloud Mail account appears in Mail with identical contents to the one that is there with this option unchecked. I'd rather not have this duplicate set of mailboxes in Mail so I'm leaving the option unchecked (is this OK?). I added my AOL address as a second email address to my Apple ID so I can use my AIM account with FaceTime and have set FaceTime to receive calls to my AIM address and I have added a contact with my iCloud email address.Â
On my iPad, I have set up FaceTime to receive calls to my iCloud email address and added a contact with my AIM address. This set up works when calling my Mac from my iPad but does not work the other way. How do I get it to work in both directions?Â

Next week I will be working 3 days in the office and 2 from my home in Leeds.  I have 2 iMacs - one for each location. I was wondering whether there's a way of setting up iCloud with my work email address in order to sync my emails on both machines? I have to refer to my emails quite a lot in my job and it will be rather frustrating to have some one one machine and the rest on the other. Oue email server is POP only. I use Apple Mail on both machines.Â

My iMac (10.5.7) is currently set up with me as the Admin user. I know that this is not recommended but it's been like this for a while and I'm considering setting up an Admin user and dropping my account down to a standard account. Is this likely to cause me any problems with the applications that have been installed over the months or is there anything I need to watch out for when doing this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am running SL and Mail 4.3 connecting to GMail (IMAP). I have an iMac and Macbook. Accounts on both are set up the same (as far as I can see) but both display different folders under GMail.
iMac has:
All mail
Bin
Drafts
Sent Mail
Spam
Starred
Macbook has:
All mail
Spam
Starred
Id like to get it like the macbook setup where it uses the mac sent icon rather than displaying the sent mail folder and likewise with the trash icon and the bin folder...
Im trying to set up my apple mail with my yahoo account. I'm encountering problems conjuring yahoo mail w macfreepops. I downloaded and installed macfree pops... I put the incoming mail server 127.0.0.1 as directed and changed the port in the advance tab to 2000 as well. I've read all the bits on their website and read some blogs but still not working.

I have configured my iPhone and iPad to connect to an Exchange Webmail Server and it works properly, including sync of email, calendar and contacts.
Settings include:
- email address
- server name (webmail.xxxx.com)
- domain
- user name and password for authentication
- SSL on
- S/Mime off
Now I have tried to do the same on my new iMac/Lion, using Mail. While all my email accounts (gmail, POP3, etc.) work well, I am unable to configure my Exchange account. In particular, I have used exactly the same settings as for iPhone/iPad (all but the domain name that is not in the configuration wizard and I have used domainusername as username), but it does not work. A first pop-up says that the system cannot get the certification of the server. Then when I click on "Continue" it says that it cannot connect because the password/username are not correct (however I have used the same settings that work on iPhone/iPad).

I get my .mac account emails on my iPad and iPhone but not in mail on my iMac and Macbook. I get a password not recognised error. Is this because of iCloud and my operating system (Leopard)?

I can't open Mail. When i try the whole "Welcome to Mail - you'll be guided through the necessary steps to set up your mail account" message comes up. It's been working perfectly fine, so I just don't get it.
I've used disk utilities to repair permissions etc and have re-booted...I've even closed it down and un-plugged it and then booted up again, but to no avail. I'm running OS 10.4.11.
The only thing I can think of that would cause something like this is that the computer wouldn't wake from it's sleep mode when I tried to turn it on earlier, so I pressed the off switch at the back to shut it down and to open it again.

I have several email accounts with different SMTP settings. So I may want to use the account from time to time but I don't need to be checking mail and downloading all the accounts. How can I set up a mail group to check mail from several accounts - but exclude one of the accounts (its duplicated you see). I am using outlook 2010.

I tried using the migration assistant to transfer files (mainly pictures and word documents) from my old windows xp machine to my new macbook pro after the initial account setup, but I cannot find them. I know they are on the computer because of the decrease in free hard drive space. I had read on the internet that it may have created another user account and put the files there, but when I check in the users and groups, the only other account it shows is the guest, which I had had disabled. I would like to find out where the files are, and how I may be able to get them.
