Im trying to set up my apple mail with my yahoo account. I'm encountering problems conjuring yahoo mail w macfreepops. I downloaded and installed macfree pops... I put the incoming mail server 127.0.0.1 as directed and changed the port in the advance tab to 2000 as well. I've read all the bits on their website and read some blogs but still not working.

I recently updated to Mavericks. Now I'm getting an error message from syncing with my Yahoo! calendar. It keeps saying that Yahoo! won't accept the change.  All I wanted to do was dismiss the message from my mac, not change anything on Yahoo! Very annoying.Â
Also, for the past few months, even before I upgraded to Mavericks, I've been noticing a problem with events that migrate between my cell phone and my computer. The cell phone is a Samsung Android. It purports to sync with my gmail calendar. ical also purports to sync with the gmail calendar. The appointments do migrate from calendar to another, but the messages don't. It doesn't do much good to have an appointment in my calendar if the program doesn't give me a message warning me of the event.Â

This is a pretty weird problem I've been having on and off for the past few months... Every now and then, when I type a URL into Safari, it loads a completely different site... For example, [URL].will load [URL].. This usually lasts for around 30 minutes or so, and then it goes back to normal. The URLs affected vary... right now, when I try to load [URL]., Safari loads an error page from Yahoo! (but the URL in the address bar is still [URL].). If I try to go directly to Gmail by typing in mail.google.com, Safari says "cannot connect to server". I attached a screenshot of what happens when I go to [URL].

When i log into yahoo from the safari browser I can get into my regular mailbox on yahoo, but when i click to get into my small business domain it just goes back to the yahoo log in page. But I don't have any problem on a pc. Only from my macBook pro.
The next problem is what are the settings to send mail from the mail program on the macBook pro using snow leopard for yahoo small business. On my pda the incoming server is [URL] and the outgoing is [URL]

I want to find my password for my second gmail account which I haven't used for a while, and I'd rather not change the password. (I keep forgetting passwords, and hate resetting them). how to find my password for the first gmail account (Finder>Utilities>Keychain>imap.gmail.com>enter email account name>select 'show password'>enter Mac user password). I was hoping that I could just change the first account name to the second under the imap.gmail.com entry, but when I do this, the password shown continues to be that of the first account, not the second.Â

I am having a problem adding one of my university managed Gmail accounts to Mail 7.3 on my Macbook Pro. I have two that I use regularly, @oakland.edu and @albion.edu, and I was able to sync @oakland.edu with no issues. However, Mail will not recognize the @albion.edu gmail account and gives this message:
I have tried to override and trust the certificate and that didn't work. I also tried adding the incoming/outgoing IMAP servers manually and that didn't work. IMAP is enabled in the @albion.edu acount. It added to Mail on my iPhone 4S with no problems, so I don't know what else to do.

I've added my standard Gmail account to the Mail app on my macbook air 2013 but i also have a school email from Google that I would like to add as well. First of all, it's set up with IMAP Gmail and if I quit and restart it, it syncs with Gmails servers and respects what I've read, deleted and sent from other places (such as my iPhone), but won't do that while the application is open. If I leave it open all the time, it never updates. What up wit' dat? Secondly, I've emptied out the Inbox into another mailbox called 'Old Unsorted' which I'm filing away bit by bit, so that the Inbox could remain fairly empty most of the time, ideally to speed it up a bit. But when I open the application, and indeed even when it's sitting idle, the title at the top of the window says "Inbox (4294956420 messages)" when in fact there's about 7 in there. If I delete one, the total goes down by 1, so what's going on? Also it rarely ever BINGs when I get new Mail these days. Occasionally it does, but not often. System is totally up to date, Software Update-wise.

I just got a new MacBook Air and I went to set up my Mail just as I had on my old Mac Mini. I have a Yahoo account that I have paid for the Plus! features. I should be able to just have it automatically find the settings and then I should just be able to get email, right? Wrong. I thought maybe it was because I was also getting the mail popped onto my Blackberry but even when I turn it off, I still can't get a single Yahoo email. I thought I had set it up properly; emails appear in my 'Mail' inbox but I am unable to send anything - every time I try, the app requests me to enter my yahoo username and password. I do but it tells me they are incorrect. If the details are incorrect why do they work when I log in to yahoo with a browser? I read somewhere that you have to have a payed for yahoo account to get proper access to it's service. If this is the case it sure isn't obvious, unless I have just been looking in all the wrong places. I am also having trouble importing my yahoo contacts to the mac Address Book app.

Mail Plus just so I can sync it onto mail, although I found out you can't sync folders which sucks, but whatever. My problems is the following: If I read my emails on my iphone, or even a regular pc using firefox or something, when I go into mail on my mac, all those messages still show as unread. And messages that I have deleted are appearing again.

I want to "sync" my yahoo account with the inbox in my Mail app. Basically, when I delete a message in Mail, I want it to automatically delete on the Yahoo server as well. I know I can do this manually by Right-clicking on Inbox -> Get Account Info -> Messages On Server, and then removing them manually, but is there anyway that this can be done automatically (say ... every time a message is removed or every time the Mail app is closed)?

This particular Mac - gets a 554 Error (229) under my user when I send mail to Yahoo. But under Guest, it works just fine.
I've deleted my account (gmail) and reinstalled it - but the error keeps coming back.Â

Outlook Mail. I just recently set up two new email acounts to my mail. They worked perfectly for two days then yesterday, at random my outgoing mail stopped working (incoming still works). Â
Both of these accounts are"Exchange" accounts. As of now when I look in my availabe "Outoing Servers" it doesn't show that I have any. How to configure it to my exchange accounts.

I've got limited hard drive space. In gmail, I keep my inbox pared down to just a few emails I'm actively working on (ie 3-10 emails at a time). Everything else gets archived. However, when I try to set up Mac Mail for gmail (as described on 50 different websites), my computer starts downloading thousands of emails - my sent mail, anything I've tagged, etc. I don't want all this. I just want the few active emails (my inbox) at any one time.
I've tried mapping folders in Mail (ie Use this folder for....), but can't seem to pare it down to just the inbox.
