In itunes on my iMac, most, but not all, of my home videos and homemade slide shows have been saved in the TV shows directory rather than the movies directory. I've tried to move them to the movies directory in iTunes, but they won't be moved. How can I move them, and then have the moves reflected on my iPad?

When I select a handful of movies(really my tv shows) and right click get info and change the media type to TV shows it will not transfer. Though I can do it one by one but really who wants to do that? Running iTunes 8.0.2

I am unable to import TV shows or movies purchased from the iTunes store to the iTunes library on my Mac Book Pro. What I do, is have a main iTunes library on my desktop Mac, where all my purchases get stored. I will then use the Import process via Home Sharing to put them on my MBP for when I'm travelling or away from home. I tried this yesterday and the files were transferred from my desktop to my MBP but are not showing up in iTunes. I have also tried the 'Add to library' and 'drag and drop' method direct from the MBP library location, but still no joy. It would seem that this has only started since the recent OSX 10.7.4 update, but I can't be sure.....I haven't needed to do it for almost two months.

With the new iTunes 9.2.1(5), I seem to have trouble sorting some of my video files. Every video file (converted from .avi to .mp4 with Handbrake, using the "Universal Apple" preset) I throw at iTunes seem to be added to the Movies section. I tried updating the metadata from Get Info, filling out the Video tab with appropriate names, season number, episode number and episode ID. That didn't get anywhere. I tried putting "TV Shows" as a genre but that doesn't do anything either. I even tried making a new folder in the iTunes folder, naming it "TV Shows" and throwing videos in there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago, I purchased season 1 of Game of Thrones on the Blu-Ray Digital Combo pack so I could download the TV show onto my iTunes. I was able to download season 1 using the code that came with my DVD and it is on the iTunes on my macbook pro. Today, I purchased season 2 of the show and downloaded it onto the iTunes on my iMAC. My problem: Season 1 of Game of Thrones did not sync so it is not showing up on my iTunes on my iMAC. I use the same email, password, network, AND I have allowed home sharing amongst my apple devices. This has never happened before. How am I able to get my TV shows on both my iMAC and Macbook?

But I have a lot of films on my iMac and would like to copy or move those over to my laptop, but I'm not sure how to do it. Just got a brand new MacBook Pro 15" a week ago with the standard specs. I have noticed whenever I'm playing a video that's bought or downloaded from iTunes, a pixel on the up-left corner of the screen starts flashing between blue and black like crazy, at first I thought it was a physical defect, but when I stop playing videos the stuck pixel disappears. I ran a number of test and confirmed it wasn't the screen's problem. All the firmwares are up to date by the way.

If I purchase a movie on iTunes, it loads into my movie section of iTunes and I can load it onto my iphone. Now Since I own the movie, can I move the movie to my wife's version of itunes (residing on a difference computer) so she can load it and watch it on her iphone? the only work around is see for this it to buy the DVD at a store, and use something like DVD-to-iPhone to make a copy.

My brother has told me its simple to switch over itunes library but sure he isnt gonna tell me, he is like that! My iMac desktop is tiger 10.4.11 & i want to transfer my itunes library, including apps/films/tv shows etc to my macbook laptop which is 10.5. I have uploaded most of my pics to mobile me so that they are safe but I have home movies also & want to secure them. I was gonna upgrade the imac tiger to snow leopard as Im probably getting a time capsule as a gift & would need to be 10.5 or higher to use it I believe but i decided against that. I will just use the desktop for general browsing etc & not keep anything of sentimental value on it.

I didn't have a problem adding videos to iTunes for several months, but now videos are not appearing in the right places. For some reason, they appear in the Recently Added playlist, but they are not showing up in the Movies section (which is where they had all gone before). The video plays fine if I play the file from Recently Added. The files are mp4 format converted with Handbrake, which I have used for a long time without issue. 2011 iMac OSX 10.7.3 & iTunes 10.6.1 (7) My research into the issue has found that some users experience metadata info missing from files. I ran some of the recommended programs that automatically add metadata to videos, but still had no luck adding. The issue is with every single mp4 file I add, and it just suddenly started.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have movies that i have downloaded, ive converted them into m4v. I've tried to move these to a new folder called music video. when I do this itunes freezes then errors so I have to force quit. When I restart it sorta looks like the video is still there but a generic picture is there and the video wont play, its like its there but not at the same time. This has happened about 6 times now on 3 different shows. I delete and recopy to itunes, try again and it does this all over again. Now I just copied it in again and Im leaving it there till theres a solution, at least here it works, but i would like to organize more. I never had this problem before and to honest, im not eally sure when it start, but very recently.FYI, this is Itunes 10?
