ITunes :: Why Videos Are Showing Up In "Recently Added" But Not In TV Shows

I didn't have a problem adding videos to iTunes for several months, but now videos are not appearing in the right places. For some reason, they appear in the Recently Added playlist, but they are not showing up in the Movies section (which is where they had all gone before). The video plays fine if I play the file from Recently Added. The files are mp4 format converted with Handbrake, which I have used for a long time without issue. 2011 iMac OSX 10.7.3 & iTunes 10.6.1 (7) My research into the issue has found that some users experience metadata info missing from files. I ran some of the recommended programs that automatically add metadata to videos, but still had no luck adding. The issue is with every single mp4 file I add, and it just suddenly started.

does anyone no why all my recently added songs are not syncing onto my iPhone? i have mixture of bought and tracks from other sources, i usually find away aroud my problems but i've tried everything i can think of like re installing all of my music to my ipone but it still didnt add them? i have since added the bought songs by uding the itunes on my iphone but i wany my other tracks:D this all happened after istalling the new iphone software 5.1.1 but this may not be the problem as i hadn't tried to add them before dowloading it.

I subscribe to several podcast, most of them are news and I have a couple of them that are music that I'd like to add to the Recently Added Smart Playlist. By default the this playlist has the criteria Media Kind is not Podcast, so when I specify a podcast it'll not appear and if I remove this criteria, all the podcasts will appear which of course I don't want. I could just specify every single podcast I don't want but the problem would be that I'd have to keep editing the playlist everytime I subscribe to a new one; a thing I don't feel very comfortable with. I tried using subcriteria but the Media Kind is not Podcast just overrules everything I add afterwards.

I just dragged a bunch of mp3s to my iTunes. It added them because I saw it saying "copying files" and then "determining volume."But they aren't in my library!I closed iTunes and opened again. Not there.I used iVolume and it sees them and adjusts the volume.

Ok, so for the past few weeks spotlight has not been working. It would not find things that I had recently put on my system. So I fiddled around with it by doing this:
sh-3.2# mdutil -E /
/:
No index.
It shot me a no index error. I kept trying different things including deleting the index file through the Finder. I finally turned off spotlight with mdutil -i off /. I restarted and tried to turn it back on and it would give me this error:
sh-3.2# mdutil -i on /
/:
Error: unable to perform operation. (-100)
No index.
Then I did rm /.Spotlight-V100 and deleted the spotlight index and restarted. Now it searches for files and it has all the files in the index, but it no longer does calculator or dictionary searches. Using mdutil -E / returns this:
sh-3.2# mdutil -E /
/:
No index.
mdutil -s / returns this:
sh-3.2# mdutil -s /
/:
No index.
But I can still use spotlight to find files. Typing something into the menubar gives back accurate results without calculator or dictionary results. So what do I do to fix it without a reinstall of 10.5? This is my 2.4 ghz Santa Rosa Macbook Pro. The drive is 160 GB.

I was trying to find a way for items in a folder to get sorted by recently added. In other words, I would like a certain folder to sort everything in the order I throw them in. The problem is that all the items have different dates, names, size, etc., so the usual sorting methods don' achieve what I want and I would prefer not to have to modify the item names cause it gets confusing with all the items I have. The way the folder behaves by default also starts to fail when you reach the maximum window size, it starts to put some items on the right side and others on the bottom, in no particular order. I was thinking of using a Smart Folder or Automator, but nothing I've tried seems to work.

In itunes on my iMac, most, but not all, of my home videos and homemade slide shows have been saved in the TV shows directory rather than the movies directory. I've tried to move them to the movies directory in iTunes, but they won't be moved. How can I move them, and then have the moves reflected on my iPad?

I have a very large iTunes library, with content spread over multiple volumes. Recently, I would add, say, a movie to the iTunes library. I don't have iTunes set to copy content into the library, so it stays where it is. Now, the item looks like it got added. If, within iTunes, I'm in the "Movies" library, and I search for the movie I just added, it isn't there. I do a search for it, and it isn't there. However, all the AppleTVs connected to the library show that it is there, and I can play it.
So, clearly the item has made it into the library, otherwise it wouldn't be streamed to the connected AppleTVs, (and iPhones, and iPads). But, it still will not show up in the iTunes library list. No matter what I do. I can quit and relaunch iTunes, I can quit iTunes and open it back up with the "option" key to that I can specifcally choose that library, etc. But, it never shows up in the list. I just upgraded to iTunes 10.6.1, and still, no dice. It will not show up in the iTunes list, but I can still play it from shared iPhones, iPads, and AppleTVs.

Where did the other gigs go? Is it possible someone installed a hidden disk partition and this accts for the missing 3 gigs? What can I do to locate the hidden disk partition? I'm having an issue with iMovie '08 and YouTube. I recorded my iMac unboxing and even short clips using the iSight Camera, and tried to publish them to youtube. The videos say "Published to YouTube" beside them and all, but when I goto YouTube, the videos are not there. They don't even say "Awaiting Review" or whatever. They just aren't there. I'm entering correct account information and all. I'm annoyed, because one of the reasons I decided to get a mac was to engage in YouTube.

how to prevent certain photos and videos from showing up on search/spotlight? When you go to Mac HD and click "all images" or "all movie" there are certain ones I would rather not have seen by anyone on my computer. Is there a way to keep these files private?

I am running iMovie '09 (8.0.6) and iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) running on a late 2007 iMac with Snow Leopard (10.6.3).
I have dozens of avi format videos imported from my point and shoot digital camera in the iPhoto library and iMovie used to be able to see them. Not any more. It now recognizes only a handful from a couple of years back.

I recently switched from Pc to Mac, and iTunes isn't picking up my iPhone? I switchd over all my music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts using home sharing. I connect the usb cord and plugged in my iPhone, and nothing happens on the sidebar of iTunes. It recognizes it as a camera, but doesnt weant to sync my phone, or iPad? I just dont know what to do?

I recently switched from Windows PC to an iMac a couple of weeks ago.Having sero experience with mac's I asked a friend of mine how I should transfer my itunes over to the new iMac from PC. He said I just need to copy my music and movies over from the old PC and authorise my new iMac.However, just today I plugged in my iphone4 to the mac to get some photo's off it and update some music but im getting an error telling me my iphone is currently synced with another library.Several questions:How do I get my photo's off my iphone before it wipes it?Should my app's automatically appear in my itunes now my iMac has been authorised?What about things like calendar entries? I dont see them in iCal on the iMac?

Youtube vidoes are working fine when I'm actually on youtube but if its embedded on another website (facebook, forums etc.) it won't load. On forums, the space where the video is embedded is just blank while on facebook when I click play, there is just a white screen. I've re-installed my flash player multiple times. I've disabled all plug-ins and still won't work. I've taken out my com.apple.safari plist onto my desktop and loaded my safari again.. still doesn't work...

I use the Date Added column all the time in my iTunes, so I can see what was added last. Well, I just noticed that most of the 10,000 songs in my library have at some point lost the original 'date added' they used to have. Now, the earliest date is sometime in February of 2010. And some have been set to just a few days ago. How did this happen? Is this a bug of iTunes 10? I only just noticed this, so I'm not sure when it happened.
