Feb 2, 2010I'm looking for an advanced notepad for editing HTML/CSS. I'm also wondering whether there's a notepad that has good note-taking functionality as I'm going to use my MBP at University next year.
I also need a cleaner (CCleaner) type program that will keep my Mac in-tune. I'm wondering whether I actually need to keep it in-tune seeing as it's running probably the best operating system in the world which doesn't have all the crap entailed with it.
I'm going to maybe invest in Photoshop in the distant future but is there something that really has the power of PS in a nutshell? I really can't afford the prices they are charging so I'm wondering whether I can just nudge my way round it all and get another decent editor.

ITunes :: Error On Movie Category?
Apr 3, 2012I have movies that i have downloaded, ive converted them into m4v. I've tried to move these to a new folder called music video. when I do this itunes freezes then errors so I have to force quit. When I restart it sorta looks like the video is still there but a generic picture is there and the video wont play, its like its there but not at the same time. This has happened about 6 times now on 3 different shows. I delete and recopy to itunes, try again and it does this all over again. Now I just copied it in again and Im leaving it there till theres a solution, at least here it works, but i would like to organize more. I never had this problem before and to honest, im not eally sure when it start, but very recently.FYI, this is Itunes 10?

Nov 30, 2014I've just acquired a new MacBook Pro with all the trimmings, and I've been importing my iTunes library from my old Windows PC, for the most part successfully.
The one missing piece is that iTunes for Mac does not have a Books icon in the ULH corner toolbar, and when I go into Preferences there's no category "Books" for me to check.

Jun 11, 2012In itunes on my iMac, most, but not all, of my home videos and homemade slide shows have been saved in the TV shows directory rather than the movies directory. I've tried to move them to the movies directory in iTunes, but they won't be moved. How can I move them, and then have the moves reflected on my iPad?

Aug 14, 2010I have a list of expenses and there are columns such as "Description, Cost" the usual, but I also made one named "Type" that is populated with either "Business, Personal," or "Fixed Expenditures".
I would like, then, to make another table that links to the first with three rows. Each one adds the total cost of Business, Personal, and Fixed Expenditures. How can I accomplish this?
I want to divide the expenses into expenses types and create a sum for each type.
Basically, it categorizes the expenses and puts them in three different totals: one for each "Type" of expense.

Oct 16, 2009When buying HD TV shows off iTunes does it download the SD as well? And if so does it charge you more than $60? I just bought the HD version of Chuck Season 2 since I have seen Season 1 and looked at the download part in the iTunes and it has 44 to download. I noticed that is it downloading the SD as well. Is that really how it does it? I've bough Scrubs Seasons 3 & 4 before but those where just SD.

Jan 13, 2009I have 2 x 1TB WD External Hard drives which hold all my audio/video content. One of these is full and this is the one that is located in the iTunes Music Folder Location. If I change this path to a path on the other drive which has space, is it going to mess up what I already have in my tunes library? When sites do various benchmark tests, they typically use something like 3DMark, and I think Cinebench CPU, etc.
First, I probably got those benchmark apps wrong...which ones do tech sites typically use?
Also, what exactly do these benchmarks exam.
Say I have a rendering application that is processor heavy...what benchmark should I be looking at?
Say I have another application for modeling, and I know it is graphics intensive. What benchmark should I be looking at?
And, to round things out, if I have an application that I know is memory heavy, what stats should I look at.
The reason I'm asking, is when upgrading my computer (at this point RAM), or considering a new MacPro, I want to know I'm buying for the right reasons.
I don't want to buy a powerful computer to find out that its max potential is not fully realized as it relies on something else. Granted I understand a new comp all around will perform better. However, applications such as Maxwell render does not hold back, it will use every processor available (8-cores would be amazing!), but others don't rely on processor, but memory more so.
Even then, I'm not sure all the time how the application performs. With as many apps as I use for different things (Rhino NURBS modeling [XP], Maxwell Render, VIZ/3DS Max, SketchUp, Adobe CS3, CAD) I can't always tell what part of the comp they use.

Dec 11, 2009My isp (Comcast) informed me that I could no longer send emails unless I changed my email port from port 25 to port 587. When I open my network preferences to make the change I get a message that my network preferences have been changed by another application. When I cancel the message it reappears and will not allow me to do anything even quit network preferences.
