When syncing iPhone 4, the "capacity" bar in iTunes show's as over capacity, it gruntas and graons for 5 or more minutes, then suddenly drops down to normal (meaning it was NOT over capacity), then it syncs normally. How can I get this to stop. Everything is updated to current.

In some views, iTunes shows all the storage in "Other" with some free space. In other views, it shows Audio, Apps, etc. and Other. But the Other is equal to all the storage used, so the Apps, etc. are getting double counted. And, iTunes thinks the iPhone is over capacity. Â
The net result is that the Sync process believes the double counted total and refuses to add the ringtone, or any other media files to the iPhone. But, I can add/delete Apps at will.Â

I have rebooted both devices several times and used two different USB leads and have seen no difference. How can I get my iPhone to show up in iTunes on my mac?Â
I am using version 10.8.5 of OS X on my MacBook but am not quite sure what I was using before the reset.

Until recently, when I downloaded an app update on my iPhone, it would automatically - without syncing - remove that same app update on iTunes and vice versa. Now it does this only when I download the update to my iTunes and then sync using USB. When I do a wired sync. I can't figure out how to make it do it again automatically.

I just secure erased my Time Capsule disk through AirPort Utility to set it up with my new iMac. After erasing the 1TB disk, AirPort said that the disk capacity is only 931GB even though the Time Machine preferences displayed 998GB available prior to me initiating the first backup. Does anyone know why this discrepancy exists? It should be noted that the previous backup on the Time Capsule disk from my old Mac took up about 68GB so is AirPort Utility just struggling to show the new capacity after the secure erase?

I bought a 3rd party battery for my MBP. I put it in and after cycling the battery i noticed that the full charge capacity was only 3990mAh (supposed to be 5500mAh). I returned the battery today and got and an upgraded replacement. this shows the full charge capacity at 4995mAh (supposed to be 5600mAh).
is this normal. Do I just need to give it some time or is it something with the batteries.

I've been running all of my emails through my iPhone since it was released. Just recently I picked up a new Mac Mini as a work machine, and I set up Mail to handle all of the same accounts as my phone, with the thinking being that I can read and respond to messages when I'm at the computer, and when I step away, be able to read the remaining emails on my iPhone.
What my problem is, however, that both my Gmail and Hotmail accounts don't seem to "sync" properly between the phone and the computer, meaning that mail that I've read or deleted in Mail on the Mac Mini don't show up as being read or deleted on the iPhone, and vice versa.
I don't want to have to delete a message on my phone if I've already taken care of it in Mail.
Recently I got a 3Gs and loaded it up with my old 3G backup. All the music was gone. No biggie, I just re-added it all. Then I upgraded to 3.1 and i noticed that in my iPod on the iPhone some of my albums were showing up as multiple entries. The difference is, it seems it would make a new album entry for every artist on the album. It's annoying because I used to just have one album but now its like 15 entries and i have to scroll through them all when they should all fall under that same album. WTF 3.1

I just hooked my iPhone up to iTunes, went to "Info" and checked the sync contact field. Then I synced it, but no matter what I do, the new contacts dont show up on my Address Book on my Mac. It asked me for one duplicated entry, where I had to choose one and I choose one. It even says Sync Okay in iTunes.

After a full migration from my 2006 Intel iMac to a new 12.1 21" iMac, I I tried to change some playlists and download other podcasts ect. on my ipods and i pad 2 on my new iMac , but the bar at the bottom of my sync window does not show the capacity bar along with the Revert and Apply buttons. Everything else looks like it should and I don't get any error messages.

I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I am running an approx 2 year old Macbook on my wifi network and have noticed that the download speeds are very slow all of a sudden.Testing with speedtest.net I am only getting 0.5MB/s compared to normal speeds of 2.5MB/s.I don't think it's the router because my iPhone is consistently showing 2-2.5MB/s.I have run software update to ensure everything is up to date.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

I have an older iPod that has some playlists on it that are not in my iTune library. I want this same playlist on my iPhone but when I do an 'export' then try to drag and drop into my phone I get a message saying it did not copy because 'it cannot be played on this phone'. I also cannot drag and drop it into iTunes anywhere either. All of these songs are in my library, I just don't want to have to go through and remake this playlist to add to my phone.

I have tried importing this CD as Apple Loss-less, .mp3, etc and it doesn't ever show up in iTunes. I found the music with the finder but when I drag it to iTunes, no go. I right click and say open with iTunes, nope. I go through iTunes and use Add to Library, it still isn't showing up. No error message is displayed, it just simply doesn't add it to the library.
