OS X :: How To Add Album Artwork - Already Have For Same Artist

Jul 25, 2009

I have a set of lectures that span 3 years. For certain years there is album artwork that came with each lecture, e.g., the lecturer's picture or the location of the event. However, for other years in which that lecturer presented there is no album artwork so I would like to grab the album artwork I already have for a given lecturer and use it for the missing album artwork.

Applications :: Remove Album Artwork From Songs NOT ON ITunes Library

May 9, 2009

I copied a lot of songs to my cell phone so I can here them wherever I go. However, i noticed that because of the album artwork, I couldn't copy as much songs as I wanted. Is there away I can remove the artwork embedded in the mp3 files WITHOUT reimporting them back to iTunes? I don't want to remove the artwork from the iTunes library, just from the phone card. Is there a separate application that can batch-handle ID3 tags and artwork? i copied the songs from my macbook to the m2 memory stick using a usb adapter so i can use the songs on my ericsson. I think it is really annoying that iTunes requires songs to be in the library to handle them. I could really use a separate application or a script/folder action that would do the trick - freeware or shareware

ITunes :: "Get Album Artwork" Searches Entire Library Every Time

Mar 28, 2012

I run a college internet-only radio station.  The system we use works from the iTunes library.  Each week, I download music from several music distributors, an average of 20 albums per week.  Some of these downloads do not come with album artwork attached.  Of those, some have artwork available through the iTunes store.

The catch is that each time I tell iTunes to get album artwork, it starts at the top of its list and works through the (as of today) 1,817 albums.  It meticulously checks albums for which it already has artwork as well as albums for which it has already failed to find artwork on previous occassions.  This process takes about 45 minutes.  I've searched the options, but haven't found a "Check for album artwork only on recent additions" option.

ITunes :: Embedded Album Artwork Not Displaying In Album List Or Cover Flow

Feb 26, 2012

I keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps:  Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.

Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.

ITunes :: Incorrect Album Artwork For Spider-Man Album?

May 7, 2012

For some reason, when I download the album artwork from iTunes for "Music from and Inspired by Spider-Man," it instead shows artwork for "Ethnicali: Music Inspired by the Golden State." I don't even have that album. There was another album of mine that iTunes applied the wrong artwork to as well, but I can't remember it off-hand. In any case, does anybody have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this issue. I already submitted feedback to Apple about the problem as well.

I've tried simply obtaining a jpeg image of the album cover and attempted to copy and past, also tried get info/artwork; neither works.

ITunes :: Automatic Changing Of The Album Artist?

Oct 30, 2010

Every once in a while (I think it's when I play the song or something) iTunes will change the Ablum Artists of some songs to artists I know aren't right. For instance, it keeps placing Photograph by Weezer in my Nickelback folder, and even thought the song's Artist is still under Weezer, the album artists keeps automatically changing to Nickelback, and apparently thats what iTunes organizes folders by.

It also has keeps changing some song by From Autumn To Ashes to some band named Bagman.

Yes, I do have "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" checked because I want it to keep it organized, I just don't want it to change my file information.

ITunes :: Sorting Album By Artist / Year

May 6, 2012

I've been having problems sorting _some_ albums. I'll give you a specific example: I rip Simon and Garfunkel's 'The Concert in Central Park' which has 19 tracks. I want them to play in continuous mode, and in order. I show track number in the columns, make sure all the tracks are of the same album and artist and I don't specify and sort options. Now I click on the column header 'Album by Artist/Year' and I see that track 16 is first followed by 18, 19 then 1,2,3, etc.

I'm not sure why 16,18 and 19 are out of order, but they are and I don't know what other field it is using to apply this sort order since I've turned off the sort fields. I should say that I think the sort fields are turned off since I selected all tracks, hit command-I and made sure that the artist and album are the same, then went over to the sorting tab and selected each checkbox and made sure that the field was blank. Clicked on OK, then went into each track one at a time and verified that the general info and sort info were as I specified.

If I change the sort column to be just 'Album' then it sorts correctly - I think that the year is messed up, so I add the year column to the display and see that it is 1982. I click on the year and the sort is just fine. I set it back to 'Album by Artist/Year' and the same bizzare sort shows up. The same mis-sort shows with 'Album by Artist' so I do a check on the artist name (even looking for leading or trailing spaces - nothing).I could probably delete the album and re-rip it, but I would rather find out why the sort is messed up so I can correct this problem.

I'm not talking about the "album artist" column. This is totally new with the iTunes 10. When I try to remove it by, it only gives me the option of sort and artwork.

How do you add artwork to a whole album? When I select an album in grid view and choose Get Info, the Get Info window does not show the artwork tab, like what shows when I select a single song. There is a tiny little Artwork window in the Info tab, but I want to add multiple artwork to this (dragged in from the Finder), front, back and inside album art.If I select a single song in that album and choose Get Info, then I see the artwork tab, but the artwork I drag in applies only to that song (the album art appears in the Now Playing pane only when that song is playing). How do you add artwork to a whole album?

Applications :: Can't Add Album Artwork To ITunes 9

Nov 15, 2009

I've been trying to figure out how to add album cover to .flac and .aiff files for a while. When I try to add it to .flac, it just shows "Album cover not modifiable" and when I try to add it to .aiff files, it does it, but then when I quit iTunes and restart it, it's gone again.

Is this a bug or it just not possible to add album cover to them?

Btw: Audiophile, would prefer .flac or .aiff over .mp3

ITunes For Mac :: Album Artwork Shows Up On Songs But Not On Albums?

Aug 22, 2014

I thought my album artwork was disappearing. Turns out the problem is a bit different (and weirder) than I thought it was.

When I look at the Album view in iTunes and see all the albums in a tile/grid layout, there are some albums that show no artwork. These just have the default gray cover with the...um...note thingy on it. But when I click on one of these album covers and see the songs, all of them *do* have artwork. When I play these songs, I also see the artwork. It's only at the album level that I don't.

Applications :: How To Stop ITunes 9 From Embedding Album Artwork In Every Track

Jan 30, 2010

Is there a way to stop iTunes from embedding artwork into every file(track), and instead store 1 copy per album?

From what I remember thats the way cover flow used to work. Why the switch to embedding artwork in every file? A extra 20+MB per album is just ridiculous(Using a 800x800 PNG).

I know its possible to store the album artwork without embedding it in the file. Because I have a few older albums that still use the old method (storing only a single copy of the artwork in /iTunes/Album Artwork/).
