ITunes :: Video Podcasts - Just Audio No Video?
May 14, 2012
I subscribe to a couple video Podcasts, but don't view them often. But one popped up that looked interesting so I tried and only got the audio. The video window did not open.I checked an older video that came with a purchased album and again, the sound played but the video did not open. No Video just Audio. I'm running iTunes 10.6.1 Lion 10.7.3

I listen to and watch a lot of podcasts. Quite often, after I am done listening to a Audio Podcast I will watch a video podcast. Some times it gets stuck and won't play the video but plays audio fine. Anyone else have this problem?

The video podcasts in the playlist open but dont (and cant) play, although when I drag the progress slider left to right it fast forwards. As I drag and I can see whats the video content. I am on 10.6.3 latest Itunes on Snow Leopard, having fell back to Snow Leopard from Lion yesterday.
These podcasts are mp4 - and VLC plays them perfectly, i have d/loaded Xiph, flip4mac, Mplayer X. Lame and these made no difference. I was watching these exact same files on the exact same machine yesterday. But under LION. the files aren't corrupt. Quicktime wont play them either. Quicktime is ticked to work in 32 bit mode.

I used to watch streaming video podcasts in iTunes and they would popup in a separate quicktime-type window. Since a recent update streaming podcasts appear in a non-adjustable window over iTunes and I am no longer able to select which portion of the podcast I would like to view. This is irritating.
I've looked through the settings and can't find anything that fixes this.
This is 10.6.2 on a Macbook Pro (Spring 2009?), with iTunes 9.

iTunes has the Rod Stewart video of the song Ooh La La. I would buy it if I could somehow extract the audio to put in my iTunes library. I don't know why iTunes doesn't sell the audio only version of this song, but I would like the audio only, even if I had to buy the video. Can I separate the video/audio of this for iTunes?

I downloaded the newest episode of the office, and it started fine, but at one point the video went a little "wacky" and the audio/video became unsynced. Does anyone know a solution to this, I have tried quitting itunes but that didn't work

2GB (2x1GB DIMM) RAM, 160GB HD, 8x SuperDrive DL, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics, 13.3" Glossy Widescreen Display, Airport Extreme (802.11n), Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, iSight, Two USB 2.0, Mini DisplayPort, Combined Optical Digital Audio I/O, Microphone, Speakers, Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. I installed Window Vista using boot camp. I then also but the mac cd in to download the drivers for windows.
My Problem is that while trying to view a video on the internet, such as a video from youtube, after a few seconds my explorer (or firefox) will crash (yes i have tried both). Also My Itunes with start to sound bad when I do anything else on my computer other than just listen to music and sometimes itunes will just stop in the middle of a song but say its still playing. Plus when i am trying to listen to something online the sound will go in and out.

Sometimes I will notice the audio is out of sync on my iTunes store bought videos. Rebooting the computer helps until the next time. This really started to become a problem over the last few months. This is a 15" MBP, 2009 bought in March, 4GB ram. Storage is on a 1TB WD drive in a LaCie 2 big tripple enclosure with firewire. No extra software installed and the computer is only used for iTunes and internet. Has all updates.

I've seen it many times around on internet, but it is driving me ABSOLUTELY MAD. After importing audio/video on iTunes (plus copy into iTunesLibrary), the file automatically starts playing. It is annoying me more and more, I can not seem to turn the function off. iTunes seems to be defaulted nowadays to start autoplay after importing music or video into iTunes~?

I downloaded a wmv video and the video is coming through just fine, however, I have no sound. I followed the exact directions posted by "satcomer", where I changed my audio output to 44100.0.Hz but still no sound (my default was actually already set at 44100.0.Hz).

I'm happily browsing the internet with firefox/safari and I decide to open up iTunes in order to play some music and it starts to download video podcasts. No problem right? I like to watch video podcasts... except suddenly, the pages I try to load in firefox start to hang. It is like they all start to time out. Until I pause the iTunes downloads, then everything starts to work properly again. It is not only iTunes that hogs the pipe, I also have this problem everytime time machine makes a backup. Does anybody else experience this? Anyone know how to fix it? I don't remember having this problem back when I was a windows user. I might just need a fresh OS/X install...

I want to convert some video files (specifically swf in this case) to audio files so I can listen on my iPod. I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.

I know that VLC is supposed to sync audio/video on the fly and it usually works fine. But is it actually possible to sync the audio with the video when there is an actual fault of the sync in the original, for example, avi-file??

I have a few .AVI files that I want to play on my Macbook. But when I play them with Quicktime, it shows me a black screen and plays with only audio. No video. And yes I have installed Perian but that's not fixing this problem either. I tried using VLC but that didn't even show me a black screen. I could only listen to the audio.

Concerning The Difference Between A Hd 7200 And 5400. Saw In Some Webs Tests Comparing The 2 Hard Drives.. wd, hitachi, seagate. But They Are Always Based On Simple Tests When U Cannot Notice The Real Difference Between 7200 Vs 5400...and That Really Make Confused The People. The Difference Are Huge When Working N Digital Tasks..like Audio,video,3d..and So On..rather Than Office, copy A File,internet..and ********s Like That. In Logic Audio Pro U Can Perform With Up 10 Tracks More In 7200 Than In 5400,above All With The New 16 Mb/3 Gh.in Final Cut U Can Render Fluidly And Faster With A 7200 Than A 5400. Now,yes the Hard Drivers Get A Bit (just A Bit) More Noisy..gain More Temperature And In Some Cases Vibrate More. This Is The Truth. But In Other Hand, the Issues With 500 Hd 7200/5400..are Unfortunately Real. If U Got A Mbp (mid-09 Or Even Late 08),avoid Hard Drives With G-force P. At Least. Please Write Your Experiences Here Or Anywhere In This Forum,we Need Each Other.
