ITunes :: Stop It From Breaking Out All The Songs In One Album Into Multiple Albums?
May 18, 2012
How do I stop iTunes from breaking out all the songs in one album into multiple albums when the artist has many collaborators on the different songs, for example Timbaland? I want to just listen to the full album with all the songs, instead of having to play every song separately.
I thought my album artwork was disappearing. Turns out the problem is a bit different (and weirder) than I thought it was.Â
When I look at the Album view in iTunes and see all the albums in a tile/grid layout, there are some albums that show no artwork. These just have the default gray cover with the...um...note thingy on it. But when I click on one of these album covers and see the songs, all of them *do* have artwork. When I play these songs, I also see the artwork. It's only at the album level that I don't.Â
Downloading songs from cd's. One will go in as one album, shows a single artwork for the set.   Volume 2 loads like separate songs with the same album name AND with the sequence number, i.e., No. 4 of 15, On my iPad it appears as 15 albums with 1 song on them. Volume 1 appears as one album with 15 songs on it. Looks messy on the iPad. . .I have 16 albums with the same name. How to get albums together??
In the list of albums, some of the album art is not showing, but when I click to view the song list, it is there. See screenshot which explains it much better. Â
I noticed this about a year ago. So, there are some songs that I cannot play in iTunes, on either my laptop or home computer. However, I can play them on my iPhone 3GS and my 3rd Generation iPod after being sync'd. A friend thought that it was perhaps these songs/albums were not "official" Apple iTunes downloads or not direct downloads from CDs. This is not correct, random songs from random mp3 sources including iTunes (Apple iTunes Store), and even complete albums (from CDs) are affected. Why is this? how can I correct this?
I recently upgraded from iMac OS 10.4.11 to OS 10.6 and transferred my iTune songs to my new computer--Intel Core 2 Duo. Now, I have 8,870 songs in one big list. I can play them, but I also want to make them into albums. Is there some way to do that instead of adding a new album title in the playlist and then copying songs from the music list those songs that belong in that particular album title?
First they removed all of the Monkey Majik albums in the US Store, now they've deleted a album by Moonjam in the Mexico store. Some of my friends think maybe it's because that certain album or two were no longer selling. And yet, there are other ones that literally have no reviews, no ratings, not one person buying a song from there, and yet, itunes is still hanging on to them.
There are some incomplete albums and some that are not even there. When i transfer it says that I can't because i'm not authorized when clearly my Computer is authorized.
I've just found out that I can not properly put my music on both iPhone 4S and iPad (iOS 5.1).
try do the following and place the result here whether you see same behavior.
Steps:
1. Enable Manual sync on you iOS device;
2. Drag and Drop any album from your library to iPhone -> songs start to transfer;
3. Now, while songs are transfering get another album and drop it to your iPhone;
4. ISSUE IS THAT: you should notice that the transfer of the first album is interrupted and the latest album is transferring ONLY;
So, at the end you have just several songs from first album and all songs from the second one. So, basically each new album you drag and drop interrupts previous transfer.
I have my iTunes songs categorised as "Albums" and then "Title" but with compilation albums I end up with lots of icons each with a single song in each.Â
How can I amalgamate them all together so there is less on display and so I just need to click on one album cover and all the songs from that album are there and not spread out ?Â
I know this has not been possible in earlier versions of iTunes, but I hope Apple has addressed it by now. It makes a great deal of sense. If, for example, one has a song in the album in which it was originally released and also has a copy as part of a Greatest Hits album, we should not have to retain two copies of the song to be able to hear it no matter which album we choose to play. Aperture and iPhoto seem to manage this with images - why not in iTunes? Is it possible to do this yet?
I have spent several hours putting many of my favourite music CDs into iTunes. All was going well, but suddenly when accessing the "Get Info" of a particular album in order to add Artwork I got a message like "Are you sure you want to get the information of Multiple items" (my emphasis). (The error message may not be word perfect because I clicked the "don't show again" box and haven't seen it since.) But the point is that I definitely did not have multiple items selected.
There is nothing I can now do to select "Get Info" for a single album, and as a consequence I will never be able to add Artwork again when necessary. I looked through the Internet and found references to the com.apple.itunes.plist. However although I can see this using Terminal I cannot find it using Finder! This is no better than Windows, and in fact rather worse: I tried to delete iTunes, since it is obviously corrupted in some obscure way, with a view to re-installing it. But I can't even do that because it is "needed by Mac OS X"!

The CD has the same album title but the artist are different is itunes is recognizing all the songs as different albums? Is there a way to still group them together.
I'm in the process of doing some major itunes organizing, and I'm noticing that some of my songs have automatically been grouped as an album when they are not actually on the same album. I tried deleting all of the info for each song and just entered the artist and song title, but it is still saying that they are part of an album.Â

songs from Vinyl, into iTunes and keeping the song order on the Album.As it stands, when I rip Vinyl onto my computer, then import the songs into iTunes, they seem to be arbitrarily organized. I'm sure there is some logic to the way iTunes is organizing them, but it is not the order of the Album. Â There must be some way to organize or 'sort' these songs in order of the Album. I remember on the older versions of iTunes, there used to be a numbering section on the far left hand side of the songs. I can't see that anymore and even when I control-click the songs, the sorting options don't seem to do much for me. Â
I have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. See an attached example screenshot for Erykah Badu's Baduizm Album.
Recently purchased the Beatles Box Set from iTunes and am rather disappointed that many of the original album art is missing or applied to the wrong songs. What I would like to do is change the album art. Tried dragging new art to the iTunes icon etc., but just not finding anything that works. I have an app called ID3 Editor but it doesn't handlem4a files.
i've got an iPhone 4 and a Mac with iTunes, and recently i encountered my first problem while re-importing music. first of all, when i add new albums to importing list, iTunes starts importing them immidiately and skips the songs i've already added (which means, i end up with having only the first song from every album on my iPhone).the other problem is, when i've patiently imported some music album by album, it turned out that none of the songs had cover images!
I add an album to iTunes, all the songs are on recently added playlist but they don't appear on MUSIC, by artist or anything...It is really wierd and anoying, they do appear on my iPod Classic by artist or anything is just on iTunes they seem nowhere to be found!
I purchased an album on iTunes on my computer, and one of the songs will not play. Itunes says that I need to authorize my computer to play it, but it is authorized. What do i do?
I created my own album artwork and when I want to put songs (each with its own artwork) inside it, iTunes replace my main album picture with 1st song artwork. Is it possible to have my own collection of songs, all with different artworks, inside one album with my own artwork? (No playlist)Â
