I have a desktop and I'm using iTunes version 11.4. I don't know when the buttons stopped working exactly but I've tried everything except downgrading itunes. They've always worked before.

I bought macbook pro 13 inch 2.4 base model, i found that media keys (f7 f8 f9) only work with front row and not working with iTune or QuickTime, how to make them work?
also they work as a function keys when i press fn+Key , so i think it is not hardware problem.
I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...
I have a MBP with an apple wireless keyboard. The keyboard has brightness keys on it but they have recently stopped working. It is strange as the keys on the MBP still work but the ones on the bluetooth keyboard, placed exactly in the same spot (the wireless KB and the Macbook pro's KB are exactly the same), don't.

I spilled some water on my laptop this morning but it wasn't a lot and seemingly nothing happened. Then several hours later all of the sudden my delete key and arrow keys are not working. I can only assume this has something to do with the spill. My MacBook Pro is over 2 years old and I'm pretty sure the warranty is long expired. I definitely can't afford a new one or expensive repairs. Is there anyway to change the function of my keys? In other words can I change say one of my shifts or command keys into a new delete key ?

How do I change the delete key to backspace? Also, my arrow keys used to move the cursor within text. now it just scrolls the page up and down.

I used an extension to control iTunes from within the game. It worked much as the media keys do now, with one (great) additional feature: the name of the song you unpaused or skipped to appeared briefly on the screen, Quicksilver style.
I'm loving the media keys but I really miss this feature. Has anyone heard of a plugin that accomplishes this? If not, does anyone know if it's possible or where a starting point for writing such a plugin is?
iTunes is playing and I hit the play/pause key (F8) the entire keyboard will go dark, but only if I'm pausing. it doesn't do it when I'm hitting the button to resume a song, only when I'm using it to pause one. the backlight sometimes takes minutes to come back on, at random, and sometimes it doesn't and I just have to turn it back on myself.

Today I received a bluetooth Razr mouse in the mail today and went to connect the device as I would any other. Well when I was playing music in iTunes, the function keys to skip, pause, and every other function key does not work. The volume keys move my windows and pull up widgets. I dont know if the mouse has anything to do with it, but I imagine it doesn't because I disconnected it and the problem remains.

I used to be able to sync my iOS devices wirelessly with iTunes. A version or two back, that stopped working. I now have v11.2.2 (3) under OS X 10.9.3..I have tried unchecking, quitting and restarting and rechecking 'sync wirelessly' for each device.
The devices often appear in the leftmost panel when I start iTunes but selecting them causes a progress bar to appear and after 30 secs disappear and the device name is dropped from the list. This worked reliably for many years but stopped some months back after an iTunes update.
I have a sizeable iTunes library and enjoy the iTunes screensaver. However, after a recent update (not sure which version of Lion), the screensaver stopped working. At first System Preferences would crash every time I changed to another option and then changed it back (did not get the error message, it was a few weeks ago), but now I just have a black screen that says "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork." I have over 80GB and most albums have artwork. My library is not on an external hard-drive, just in the regular Music folder.
I looked at other suggestions online indicating I should delete my voice memos (or at least duplicate ones). I didn't realize I had one, but I deleted it both from iTunes and the folder. This had no effect.
I also used the "Get Album Artwork" function to see if this would work, and nothing changed.
I also deleted com.apple.iApps.plist as suggested by another thread.
Obviously it's not the end of the world not to have my preferred screensaver, but at this point I just want to solve the problem because I've tried so many options.

It appears that the function keys to control iTunes/Quicktime (FF, Play/Pause, and RW) are not working. At one point they did but now it doesn't. All the other function keys are functioning just fine and dandy. I have the "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" unchecked in the preferences. I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would explain the sudden malfunctioning of the keys. Is there something I may have missed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI normally prefer to view my songs in iTunes using the 'Songs' view, listing everything with the details shown. I'll usually set it to sort by 'Album'.
Clicking on the 'Album' header used to give me options that I could cycle through, but suddenly it is stuck on sorting only by 'Album by Artist', and I no longer have the option to simply sort by 'Album' alone.
I am unable to restore the ability to sort only by 'Album', have gone through all of the menu choices in how I view or sort my albums.
I have not made any changes to my system software or applications recently that would be obvious causes for this happening. All of my software is up-to-date.

The media keys on my MacBook Pro (retina, 13-inch, late 2013, OS X 10.9.3) don't work anymore with iTunes. All other function keys work. All other function keys continue to work when "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" is selected in System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard, but F7, F8, and F9 still do not do anything. View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the iTunes Media Folder default location to a different area on my drive. I waited a couple minutes and the files did not move. I was unaware you had to go into your settings and also select to consolodate files. Since the files didn't move I reselected my default location and kept trying to go back and forth a couple times. After letting it sit for a couple more minutes I noticed over 200 GB's of files were missing. I looked in each folder I tried to change the default Media Folder location to but they were not in either of them. I have also ran multiple system file recover programs and been unable to find them.

I've been using itunes for a while and it just messed my entire music library up! I've found something that is more Winamp style for me named "Cog". Now my problem is that I want to control it with the F7, F8, F9 keys which are the rewind, play and forward keys, but when pressing any of them it works both on itunes and cog player. How can I disable the Itunes link to it? I want it to control only Cog player.
