I have Itunes for Mac. The sound has stopped working on Itunes only. It works fine on Internet, Spotify Etc. Volume is up in the bar, and the little diamond is moving across indicating playback is happening...

I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...
Not sure why, but all of a sudden have no sound effects. When I go to System Preferences all the alert sound effect choices are grayed out. When press the volume buttons, can't adjust settings and there's a strike-out symbol underneath the bars.

I was listening to music on my macbook with headphones one night and once I unplugged them my sound stopped working. There is no red light coming out of the headphone jack and when I go to the sound settings it says there are no output controls. I can get sound to play through headphones, but once I up plug them the little sound icon in the menu bar will grey out and I will not be able to get sound to play through the internal speakers.
If I go to the Sys Pref > Sound > Output Pane, it will say "The selected device has no output controls" in the Settings for Selected Device section.

I used to be able to sync my iOS devices wirelessly with iTunes. A version or two back, that stopped working. I now have v11.2.2 (3) under OS X 10.9.3..I have tried unchecking, quitting and restarting and rechecking 'sync wirelessly' for each device.
The devices often appear in the leftmost panel when I start iTunes but selecting them causes a progress bar to appear and after 30 secs disappear and the device name is dropped from the list. This worked reliably for many years but stopped some months back after an iTunes update.
I have a desktop and I'm using iTunes version 11.4. I don't know when the buttons stopped working exactly but I've tried everything except downgrading itunes. They've always worked before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a sizeable iTunes library and enjoy the iTunes screensaver. However, after a recent update (not sure which version of Lion), the screensaver stopped working. At first System Preferences would crash every time I changed to another option and then changed it back (did not get the error message, it was a few weeks ago), but now I just have a black screen that says "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork." I have over 80GB and most albums have artwork. My library is not on an external hard-drive, just in the regular Music folder.
I looked at other suggestions online indicating I should delete my voice memos (or at least duplicate ones). I didn't realize I had one, but I deleted it both from iTunes and the folder. This had no effect.
I also used the "Get Album Artwork" function to see if this would work, and nothing changed.
I also deleted com.apple.iApps.plist as suggested by another thread.
Obviously it's not the end of the world not to have my preferred screensaver, but at this point I just want to solve the problem because I've tried so many options.

I normally prefer to view my songs in iTunes using the 'Songs' view, listing everything with the details shown. I'll usually set it to sort by 'Album'.
Clicking on the 'Album' header used to give me options that I could cycle through, but suddenly it is stuck on sorting only by 'Album by Artist', and I no longer have the option to simply sort by 'Album' alone.
I am unable to restore the ability to sort only by 'Album', have gone through all of the menu choices in how I view or sort my albums.
I have not made any changes to my system software or applications recently that would be obvious causes for this happening. All of my software is up-to-date.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been connecting wirelessly to the same router for about 4 months now, using DHCP, and having the settings on the automatic connection. I left the computer on, but closed, so sleeping, for about two days. When i opened it, the battery did not yet run out but the internet has not connected since.
I have full connection in internet connect to my network. Status says connected. If I have the IPv4 using DHCP, the status says that i am connected but my computer have a self-assigned IP adress. When I put in the IP manually, the Network setting give me a green light on airport and says that I am connected to the network thru airport. Needless to say, no browsers (Firefox, Safari, Netscape, or Internet Explorer) have been able to connect to the internet.
I have tried running Disk Utility for any errors, but there have been no changes.

My Macbook has suddenly stopped having internal speakers in the sound preferences.When I turn it on, it plays that familiar synth chord sound to say all is ok, but it wont play any audio. So videos and itunes etc play but the sound isn't produced.When I try to turn the volume up or down, the indicator says the volume is up full, but I cannot adjust it. Underneath the volume measurement there is a little sign in white like a no entry sign, meaning that adjustment of volume is not available.I gues this must mean that the speakers have been disabled, but can't figure out how to enable them.

I have tried a number of different CDs and DVDs and none will spin up. I can verify that by looking at the position of the disk when I put it in and take it out, it never moves.I have tried the usual reboot and resetting the PRAM.
