Mar 21, 2010I've just been getting into Adium today for the first time and been customising everything but theres 2 things I can't figure out. I've been on Google for the past hour and I still can't find what I'm after.
First off can you hide the menu bar on your contact list? It looks horrible with some themes.
Secondly can you remove the service icons from your contact list? I hate having loads of MSN logos going down my desktop.
If anyone could help me on either of issues i will love you forever.

Dec 12, 2009I have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Every time I send her an email it changes her name from just Mom to Mom and then adds her last name back into the last name field.

Mar 21, 2012As of iTunes 10, I have noticed my scrollbar no longer snaps to the point I click on. I have to drag the indicator to the point I am looking for. I'm refering to my music catalogue and in the view as "album list" and sorted by artist. Anyone else have this issue? I really liked being able to snap to a point when looking for artists and radio station links.

ITunes :: Can't Move Progress Bar Beyond A Certain Point
Apr 5, 2012Strange things happening with the progress bar when playing mp3 files in iTunes (v 10.6.1 (7)) on MacBook Pro with 10.6.8. The great majority of the tracks I've added since Feb 28th have the following problem: They play fine all the way through the whole track, but if I try to move the progress bar position to somewhere near the end, it will only go to a certain point. For example, I have a track that is 7:39 long. If I click the progress bar to 0:15, it goes to 0:15. If I click to 0:45, it goes to 0:45. But If I click to 1:15, it goes to 0:55. In fact, If I click anywhere after 0:55, it will go to 0:55 and play from there. i cannot skip to anywhere beyond 0:55. If I play from the beginning, and use the fastforward button instead, I can FF until 0:55, and then it hits a wall and won't go beyond. As soon as I let go, it will continue onwards past 0:55 to the end. This is happening on a variety of tracks from completely different sources.
Some points:
- All the tracks that have this problem in iTunes do not have this problem on my Touch. I can jump around just fine there.
- The time to which it jumps is different for each track, and can be anywhere in the song.
- None of the tracks imported before 2/28/12 have this trouble, that I've found
- Happens to VBR and CBR equally, and bit rate is not a factor
- Track length is not a factor
- Start and end times in the options are set to 0 and track end time.
- The few tracks that do let me scroll to anywhere say "Encoded with: iTunes 10.x.x"
BUT, some that are encoded with iTunes are also not letting me skip around. Still, this might be something? A problem with LAME encoding?

ITunes :: Point New Mac At External Library?
Apr 24, 2012it's a replaced hard drive in my old iMac, but I'm setting it up as new to keep it as trim as possible. Pre-replacement I had my iTunes Media library set up on an external hard drive; the iTunes folder and it's inhabitants (Extras, Genius, Library.itl, etc) all resided on the iMac in the Music folder, but I'd moved the Media over to the external drive.
What's the method for telling my 'new' copy of iTunes that I already have a media library, and it's 'over there' on the external drive? I know iTunes can be funny about this sort of thing so I don't want to get it wrong! I considered changing the location using the Preferences, but I wasn't sure if that was going to wipe out anything. Also, given that I do have a complete backup of the original iMac drive (I just don't want to clone it back to the new one, junk and all), is there any way of doing this in such a way that I can preserve the playlists, play counts, etc? Can I copy over old preferences or library files?

Sep 16, 2009I've literally just installed Snow Leopard on my Mac Mini and it went through successfully. Restarted my Mac Mini and it prompted me to log in, so I did and then the wallpaper comes up but no menubar and I can't see the dock when I hover over it. What's happening? I can still move the mouse.

Applications :: ITunes Cannot Find Music Anymore (Mass Find Option)
Jan 30, 2009Yesterday, I had to re-format my external hard drive so that it could be "recordable" within Pro Tools, which wasn't a major issue, I just had to move everything from my Lacie drive to another drive, do the format, and then throw it all back on. It took a little while but this also included moving my nearly 60gb itunes library. Now that it is on the newly formatted hard drive, itunes doesn't seem to be able to find the majority of the songs any more. I've tried changing the music folder and a few other things, and there is no way I'm going through and doing the "cant find music - click here to find it" palava. Is anyone aware of a way that you can "mass find" all of the music in any way other than starting the library again and adding all the music (I don't really want to lose all of my play counts and ratings if possible!)

May 25, 2012I am trying to burn some audio mix CDs from my iTunes collection, and as my MacBook Pro's Superdrive has got fluff in it or something similar, I am sharing my library with my girlfriend's iMac and attempting to burn from there. We both run the current iTunes, but I have the burn options on my MBP's menu but cannot see any burn options on the iMac's menu or in the playlist window. It's not just my library I can't burn on her iMac, I couldn't burn any of her library either. It's not that burn options are greyed out, they aren't there at all. Very odd considering we are both running current iTunes.

Dec 27, 2009I've realized that sometimes I "lose" my wireless signal. I am not using an AirPort router (I'm using Linksys, if that's at all helpful). I've noticed that suddenly all of the wireless signals disappear from the AirPort menu up on the menu bar, except the network that I am connected to (i.e., I only see my router's name there). It also becomes impossible for me to browse the internet, so what I've done to troubleshoot this is disable the AirPort, put the computer to sleep, and disconnect/reconnect my router. When I turn it on, it seems to work. I've also tried simply disabling and then re-enabling AirPort, but it doesn't work after that.
