I've been having a recent issue where when I've been playing a song, and I click in the middle to get to a part that I like, iTunes skips to the next song. If I look at it closely, what happens is the cursor-thing that shows where you are in the song jumps to the point that I clicked on for about 1/4 of a second before jumping to the end and playing the next song. Yet when I let it play through all the way, the problem does not exist. It only happens when I'm around the beginning of the song and I click around to somewhere around the middle/after that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOccasionally when I import a CD to my iTunes library via the File menu/Import CD on Snow Leopard; iTunes 10, iTunes appears to skip a song and no information appears when I enter the search terms in the search box. This happens even though all title information appears before I click "Import CD" and all the boxes are checked. I've found that if the CD is still inserted, I can import the songs to a single playlist by dragging the titles to it. So apparently the song did import, but for some reason doesn't appear in the library list. This isn't usually a problem, but I'd like to know why it happens and how to prevent it, since I'd rather have the complete information in my library.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been importing my large music CD collection and midway through, I have noticed that the first track of EVERY disc has NOT been copied to my library. The remaining tracks (Track 2 and up) were imported fine. When each CD was importing, everything looked normal and I got a green checkmark next to the first track. What's even more bizarre is that now, I cannot recreate this problem because iTunes imports the first track of every CD as normal. What the heck?! I'm going to have to re-import the first track of every disc now... Did a Google search and got nothing. I'm running the latest, up-to-date iTunes (v9.2) and Mac OS X (v10.6.4).

Since install of Lion a few weeks ago I have persistent problems scanning. I have an HP Photosmart C3110 and use Preview to Scan. I will get an error message "an error occured while communicating with the scanner". If I disconnect scanner then turn it on it will work but I have to do this after each shut down or sleep on my macbook pro. I have tried trashing prefs and repairing permissions. I am on mcp OS 10.7.3?

This has been happening to me for a while now. Sometimes when I drag music files into iTunes, only some of the songs will actually work. The ones that don't will play the first few seconds and then skip to the next song. I know that these files are NOT corrupted because if I keep deleting it from iTunes and reading it, I will eventually get the whole song to play. It's super annoying and I hate having to manually upload every single track multiple times. When I sync my iPhone to my computer, the same songs will only play a few seconds!

Am sorting/tidying my iTunes library and exporting to a new external hard drive. I am being a tad OCD about this....I have found scripts that are great and are helping but..... I would like to sort using the full title including 'A' 'The' and so on for artist, track and album. I can't find either a script app that would turn off aotosort or blank the relevant sibling field, I am hoping there is one. (There is a scipt for windows). My library is 100,000+ tracks compiled over the last few years so going through one by one would be extremely tedious.Â

I purchased an album on iTunes some time ago, but I keep getting double track entries. Seems like there is a problem with downloaded tracks from iTunes. iTunes is indicating double track entries. Locally stored on my iPhone and and a duplicate track entry asking me to re-download the track from iCloud. I don't get it. I already downloaded the tracks and every time, I need to delete the double entries but they keep coming back and asking me again to re-download the same track again from iCloud.

The icons for the songs on one of my albums are wrong. How can I correct them to show the correct icons? I've tried the "get album artwork" but it doesn't put the correct icon on the song. (There was a volume 1 and a volume 2 and all the icons are from volume 1).

I just purchased an album from iTunes. All songs play except 1. When I attempt to play the fourth song, I'm presented a dialog box telling me that I'm not authorized to play the song on the same computer I used to download it. When I enter my Mac ID and Password to authorize the song, I receive another dialog telling me that the song is already authorized to play on this computer. I attempt to play the song, and once again informed that I'm not authorized to play the song, going on to state that I've only authorized two out of the five allowed. Â
I've gone into my Mac account, and only three devices are authorized (Mac, iPhone, iPad). I went ahead an removed authorization on this Mac, then re-added my authorization. Still, the same song out of 20 will not play due to authorization.
Is there a way to stop iTunes from embedding artwork into every file(track), and instead store 1 copy per album?
From what I remember thats the way cover flow used to work. Why the switch to embedding artwork in every file? A extra 20+MB per album is just ridiculous(Using a 800x800 PNG).
I know its possible to store the album artwork without embedding it in the file. Because I have a few older albums that still use the old method (storing only a single copy of the artwork in /iTunes/Album Artwork/).
