ITunes :: Update Could No Be Verified - Corrupted During Downloading
Jun 17, 2012
I am attempting to update to the lastest version of iTunes and receive the following error message: "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." Every subsequent time that Software Update runs it restarts the download from where it was interrupted, and gives the same error prior to completion. It seems obvious to me that the partial file I have on the computer is where the corruption lies, and I would like to delete it and start the update from the beginning. The question is, where is the partial file stored, and what is it called?

I have a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion. Since I have gotten it, I've used Software Update without experiencing any problems - until now. Now, whenever I try to download/install updates, I get an error message saying "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." What is going on, and how can I fix this?

I just bought my MacBook Pro and installed the updates... however, when I try to update my iTunes (since it says version 10.6.3 is available) but when it's almost done I get a message stating it can't be installed because the "update cannot be verified". How do I upgrade my MacBook to the latest iTunes?

I'm running a MacPro 10.6.8.Â
When I did the normal software update, it installed the Java update and one other, but had an issue with iTunes 10.6.3.Â
It says 'The update iTunes cannot be installed - the update cannot be verified'Â down at the bottom I see - iTunes partially downloaded 22%Â
I've rebooted and re-run software update several times, exact same issue, it won't try to download it. How do I clear out the partially downloade file and fix this?Â

I can not download the new version of iTunes - 10.6.3. It will not go past 39.8Mb of the download from the software updates. When I try to download directly from the Apple download page, it does absolutely nothing.Â

For the past few months, I've tried to restore my iPod Classic because it randomly restarts itself, not to mention moving on the following song during the middle of a song that is already playing. However, it seems iTunes won't restore it. The following message appears every time I try to do this:
The link takes me here:
[URL]
But that website simply doesn't help me out. I've taken my iMac to a Genius and he basically said that something is corrupted in OS X. I should mention the fact that programs such as Onyx and Maintenance claim that I am not the admin when in fact, my account is the only account on the computer. The funny thing was that I created a new account and restored the iPod through there, it would work just fine.
So, besides that long explanation of my problem, is there anyway I can fix this without having to resort to placing all my files on an external and installing a clean copy of OS X? Would archiving and installing back to Leopard do the trick?

Trying to install downloaded updates, I get this, over and over: "The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." There are four updates waiting that I have tried to install as a group and individually. Part way through the installation it says "An error has occurred". When I click OK the above message shows up. Is it me, the computer, the connection, the server, what?

My friend last night came home with a smile on his face and an iPhone4 in his pocket, he was told to download itunes to sync up and activate his new phone, i told him to wait till I came round but as normal users are he went ahead and downloaded a 400mb upgrade which contained itunes, quicktime and apparently an OS upgrade. Once downloaded he rebooted as told and the upgrade started, once expanded it then complained saying the source was corrupted, reboot to boot the mac... this is where things went downhill.
On reboot he gets a boot failure when the linux part of the OS loads up with a failed boot, all sorted of flags and memory tokens in top left of screen, greyed out and a reboot dialog in the middle of the screen. Macbok is black and the OS i think is ver 9.6(personaly i not worked on macs in nearly 10 years) so am not upto speed on how to fix, repair or reinstal.
As expected, my m8 has no original media, and no backups and is well stuck being completly useless at doing anything right with a computer.
Is there any public shareware tools i can search for and burn to cd so i can boot it up and connect a usb drive to copy the contents off, then somehow repair the OS.

Since I am new to mac I have no idea how to debug this. Can someone tell me what I am supposed toi do now? . Also if i uncheck all except one (like imove) I get the same message about the file being corrupted. When I check only tghe mac OS X update and it then asks to restart the computer, it again gives the message saying an unknown error has occurred and it couldnt be installed.

I tried downloading the Mac OS X update from the update utility, and that failed. Then I went straight to apple and downloaded it from their website and it took about an hour--and I have a fast internet service! Once it finished downloading, I started the installing process. It installed, and then said it had to restart. I had to hard boot it THREE times because it would just freeze on the blue screen of death. Then it restarted on it's own three more times. Now FINALLY, I'm back up and running, but I've had some weird error messages and my Macbook Pro seems to be acting weird. Any other "success, or should I say fail" stories?

I am a proud owner of a MAC powerbook G4 for just over 3 years now. It runs MAc OX 10.3. For the last two weeks i have been having issues. First it started to be very slow. Then it would not boot up and i got a blue screen. I ran the file system checks from the OS X and it complained about the volume being bad and said it could not be repaired. i decided to reinstall the whole thing and did a complete erase and install. IT booted up fine. The software updater asked permission to update which i agreed.
After the update was over, the software updater had more updates. I guessed that it was probably giving me updates in the chronological order. During a particular update, it gave the blue screen and "please restart" ... and when i rebooted it did not come up... just a blue screen... i verified the filesystem using the diagnostic tool and it again said it was corrupt .... I have done this twice now and i have a feeling it happened when i was updating the same batch of software updates.... sometimes my software updater would crash everytime i launch it.....

I am experiencing difficulties downloading a song from the iTunes Marketplace on my MacBook Pro. I recently purchased a new album by Of Monsters and Men and track 4 of the Album 'Slow And Stead' refuses to complete. I keep receiving an error: "There was a problem downloading 'Slow and Stead / My Head Is An Animal / Of Monsters and Men' The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose 'Check for Available Downloads' from the Store menu." On the download page of iTunes it reads: zero kb of 10.2 MB - stopped (err = -100000).
I have attempted to download this file numerous times and nothing has worked. Here is what I have done so far: I have contacted iTunes support to report the problem. It has not been several days and no response.I have gone to the Disk Utility and did the Repair Disk Permissions option.I went to UsersUserMusiciTunesiTunes MusicDownloads and deleted and files that were located in this location. Anytime I did a deletion or repair I have restarted my computer. I have run out of options on what I need to do next.

Last night I got rid of Leopard on all 3 of my macs and did a clean install of Snow Leopard.
Among the little problems I`m having at the moment (even after upgrading to 10.6.4) this is a big one I haven`t been able to find a solution for :
I used Software Update to update everything and after the installation I realized the new iTunes isn`t working.

Recently I've been frustrated by having Mac OS X automatically downloading all software updates without asking. Sometimes I am on an internet connection where my downloading is limited and I don't want to be wasting the bandwidth on multiple updates that I don't need that urgently. I feel like earlier versions of OS X never started downloading the update without your permission to start the updating process. Is there anyway to ensure that the OS doesn't perform such tasks without having to resort turning off my wireless? I'm running 10.5.6 on a MacBook.

Keep in mind I'm running on a Mac OS X 10.5.2 right now, and I recently had to re-install everything from the two discs after receiving the gray screen of death on the Macbook.
Whenever I try to download (or update) the Mac OS X Update Combined (version 10.5.8) under System Updates, I keep getting the following error:
"The update "Mac OS X Update Combined" can't be installed"
"The installer could not validate the contents of the 'MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.8' package"
I even went as far as downloading the Max OS X 10.5.2 (the version that I have) Update to no avail. Some of my Applications are either not opening up at all, taking long to load (spinning colorful wheel), or closing unexpectedly. Worse of all, there are times when I try to open up an application, and the top header (where the Apple logo, File, Edit, etc.) completely disappears and everything becomes unclickable from that point. I believe it's all in part of not having the system update, though I could be wrong.
