OS X V10.7 Lion :: Update For AirPort Utility Corrupted And Did Not Download
Jun 14, 2012
The recent software update has caused a problem. The update for Air Port Utility was corrupted and did not download. I have run software update several times since then and nothing has changed. How do I clear out the corrupted file so update can start over? (MBP Lion 10.7.4)
Says the software may have been tampered with or corrupted during download. I am NOT some computer hack, just a regular guy who bought a simple product to download and it doesn't work. Total BS and waste of my time. I'm not interested in saving my download to an ext HD, or partitioning my HD, or some other funky work-around. I want to know why this software will not load straight away as advertised? I have S/L, v 10.6.8 and the required RAM and disc space.

I have a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion. Since I have gotten it, I've used Software Update without experiencing any problems - until now. Now, whenever I try to download/install updates, I get an error message saying "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." What is going on, and how can I fix this?
The latest upgrade of AIrport Utility doesn't support my Airport extreme, but the old version 5.6.1 says it doesn't work in Lion. How was I managing my Airport before th 6 update? What do I do now? Will I have to get a new Airport?
I have DSL service. I have an iPod Touch and an iPad 1 that I'm trying to connect. I just upgraded both iDevices to iOS5. I've been having trouble keeping an internet connection live for them, but now I can't even get the wi-fi to connect.
Software Update ran yesterday and I installed the AirPort Utility update (version 5.5.2), and now my MBP no longer connects to my home network when the SSID broadcast is disabled. When I enable the broadcast the network shows up in the list of available networks and I can connect to it, then I can disable it again and the MBP stays connected. But if it's disabled to begin with it won't connect.
I never had this problem before the update, and no other devices on the network are having any issues. Has anyone else had this problem yet, or know of a fix?
Late 2008 unibody Macbook Pro running 10.6.5, all software is up-to-date except for the latest update to iTunes.
AirPort Express doesn't show up in AirPort Utility 6.0. I haven't updated the AirPort utility on my laptop, and can find it there. 6.0 doesn't even has a scan button... I've done a hard reset of the AirPort Express, still isn't showing up.
I've repeatedly get: kernel: com.apple.message.domain: [URL].. I don't know for a fact what it means or what it's for but, after some research, the general consensus has made it quite clear that I need to upgrade Airport Utility to v7.5.2. The problem is that I can't seem to find it. This upgrade, apparently, was available well before Lion came out.
Currently, I has v6.0. If there is a known issue with Airport that promted newer versions to be released, then why can I not update to the latest version available?  a direct reply would be nice. Simply send me a message though Apple Support, if possible, or basic.woodworks@gmail.com, or simply reply on this forum and , I hope, I should get a notification.

In AirPort Utility I have just noticed (possibly since doing the OS X update to 10.7.3, early March 2012) that there is no longer a button to 'Disconnect All Users" from a Time Capsule disk. I used to:Open Airport UtilityClick Manual SetupClick the Disks iconClick the button that says Disconnect All Users However, the AirPort Utility interface is now different. Anyone know how to disconnect all users from a Time Capsule?
I then whantet to reconnect my Airport Express, witch i use for music in the living room. But i couldent for the life of me find out how to do that, so i thougt, ill just reset the thing, and set it up again. But this is where the problem starts.Every time i try to connect to the Express via the wifi list, the Airport Utility starts up fine, and starts the setup, but then crashes...!It dose this every time, at the same place, when it says "reading previous settings". Im running an iMac with lion 10.7.3 and Airport Utility is version 6.0.
I've just taken receipt of a Linksys NSLU2 "Slug". It's essentially a small diskless NAS that allows you to plug in and share USB hard drives over the network. It passes its own POST, and is connected via a fully-functional Cat6 ethernet cable to an Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11n (hereafter simply, "AEBS") running firmware 7.6.1. In a nutshell: I can't make the Linksys NSLU2 (hereafter known as simply, "the slug") available over the network.Â
The problem appears to be this: the slug requires that the LAN use a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. This is its default setting and, if it can be changed, I have to get it connected to the network first. The AEBS currently reports a subnet mask of 255.255.252.0. So far as I have been informed, it is this subnet mask mismatch between the slug and the AEBS that is preventing connectivity.I'm currently using Airport Utility 5, simply because I'm more accustomed to its settings. If I launch it, authenticate into Manual Setup, and navigate to Internet>TCP/IP, it displays the following information: Actual problem:If I edit the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0, and click UPDATE, I get the following error message:The router address you have entered is not compatible with your WAN IP address
It then lets me change the Router Address before continuing. However, neither I nor my friend (whom I do believe knows more than a fair bit about networking) have any idea what this Router Address is. It is in no way similar to the router's Private IP Address assigned using DHCP ranges. It is a Public IP Address, and shares the first two octets with my IP Address. Because neither I nor my friend know what this represents, or what it is for, we're reluctant to mess with it. But until we "mess" with it, we can't change the subnet mask on the AEBS, and thus I can't access the slug!
So, basically, ever since Lion, my external harddrive has had trouble being found while using the USB slot in the Airport Extreme. Anyway, so the HDD can be seen in the Airport Utility under Disks but I actually cannot access it through Finder. I have ticked the boxes to show External Harddrives in Finder and all that, so I am pretty connfused. All I use it for is watching movies off and TV shwos so I can save space on my MacBook Pro. So yeah, no Time Machine stuff which I usally see about this topic Â

Using a MBP 15 with latest Lion and Airport utility versions. When I start up my computer, the utility loads each time which is annoying. I went down the menu choices on the utility but can't find a way to stop this.
I tried Transmit and SpeedDownload yesterday, to see if I would like to use them. Carefully uninstalled SpeedDownload, and followed Transmit's instructions for removal, but now Safari doesn't load some links, including either of those two programs.
I think one of those two corrupted Safari, or has left something in a Library which causes Safari on some links to briefly show the file to be downloaded in the address window, then revert to the address of the page where the link is. The linked file or program simply won't download. (Links that do still download on my wife's Mac mini). Option click just downloads the html page.
I just had to reformat my drive and would hate to go through the process of reloading everything again!
I am experiencing difficulties downloading a song from the iTunes Marketplace on my MacBook Pro. I recently purchased a new album by Of Monsters and Men and track 4 of the Album 'Slow And Stead' refuses to complete. I keep receiving an error: "There was a problem downloading 'Slow and Stead / My Head Is An Animal / Of Monsters and Men' The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose 'Check for Available Downloads' from the Store menu." On the download page of iTunes it reads: zero kb of 10.2 MB - stopped (err = -100000).
I have attempted to download this file numerous times and nothing has worked. Here is what I have done so far: I have contacted iTunes support to report the problem. It has not been several days and no response.I have gone to the Disk Utility and did the Repair Disk Permissions option.I went to UsersUserMusiciTunesiTunes MusicDownloads and deleted and files that were located in this location. Anytime I did a deletion or repair I have restarted my computer. I have run out of options on what I need to do next.
I'm trying to download The Social Network, but every time it gets to 10mb downloaded, it goes down to zero KB, and starts over and will loop once or twice until finally saying the file is corrupt and giving me an error 8008. I deleted the tmp file on my MacBook Pro, and that didn't solve it. I also tried on my Windows PC on an entirely different network and it did the exact same thing. Is this a server problem on the host's part?
My friend last night came home with a smile on his face and an iPhone4 in his pocket, he was told to download itunes to sync up and activate his new phone, i told him to wait till I came round but as normal users are he went ahead and downloaded a 400mb upgrade which contained itunes, quicktime and apparently an OS upgrade. Once downloaded he rebooted as told and the upgrade started, once expanded it then complained saying the source was corrupted, reboot to boot the mac... this is where things went downhill.
On reboot he gets a boot failure when the linux part of the OS loads up with a failed boot, all sorted of flags and memory tokens in top left of screen, greyed out and a reboot dialog in the middle of the screen. Macbok is black and the OS i think is ver 9.6(personaly i not worked on macs in nearly 10 years) so am not upto speed on how to fix, repair or reinstal.
As expected, my m8 has no original media, and no backups and is well stuck being completly useless at doing anything right with a computer.
Is there any public shareware tools i can search for and burn to cd so i can boot it up and connect a usb drive to copy the contents off, then somehow repair the OS.
This might seem an odd question but I had to replace my last Airport Extreme base station as it was faulty....I've now got the newer "Dual Band Extreme Base Station". I want to avoid any conflicts with my old settings for my wireless network with my MBP. Should I uninstall the last version of Airport Utility? Is there anything else anyone would recommend before i install or connect the new hardware/software?
When I am on my wireless network at home, I cannot print to my printer (via AirPort). When I go to the router and connect with ethernet cable, the AirPort magically detects itself in seconds.I have Windows 7 computers running bonjour and they can print just fine using AirPort.I was able to print fine wirelessly to the AirPort but today it's not working.
I have an old Airport Express (A1088).I am running OSX 10.9.4 - I have downloaded Airport Utility 5.6 and yet cannot install - I am getting "This version of Mac OS XÂ on this volume is not supported".Unfortunately no PC or old Mac available. I used to be able set up on IOS but cannot do that anymore either.Any clues how to re-setup this old airport that works ok.

I am new to macs. I clicked "software update" and it downloaded 9 things. everything from iworks 09 to itunes and mac os X update. After it downloads it says "some of the selected uopdates could not be expanded and verified. it may have been corrupted during download etc. The update will be download and checked next time " I have done this like 5 times in a row and the i get the same message. Since I am new to mac I have no idea how to debug this. Can someone tell me what I am supposed toi do now? . Also if i uncheck all except one (like imove) I get the same message about the file being corrupted. When I check only tghe mac OS X update and it then asks to restart the computer, it again gives the message saying an unknown error has occurred and it couldnt be installed.
When updating itunes it downloded file and started instll then said it was corrupt every time I try to redown load it starts out at 170 mgs and fails. If I could get rid of the old download and start from scratch it would be great.Â
I installed AirPort 5.6 as well as 6.0 sometime back on Lion . Now the latest version of 5.6.1 will not install to update 5.6 to 5.6.1. Did anyonwe else try to do this?
After configuring wireless security on my Airport Extreme base station, the Airport Express I use to stream iTunes music to my whole-house stereo system has disappeared. Airport Utility can't see it. Yes, I checked connections. All I get is a blinking yellow light on the Express. The base station works as its supposed to.
I have a 17" Powerbook G4 with a 1.33 GHz Power PC processor. I'm running MacOS 10.5.8
I am attempting to update to the lastest version of iTunes and receive the following error message: "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." Every subsequent time that Software Update runs it restarts the download from where it was interrupted, and gives the same error prior to completion. It seems obvious to me that the partial file I have on the computer is where the corruption lies, and I would like to delete it and start the update from the beginning. The question is, where is the partial file stored, and what is it called?
I own a MacMini Server in my home network with Lion Server installed. I configured the DNS Service with a primary zone, providing nameserver (MacMini) etc. Server Admin tool create also a reverse zone 0.0.0.10-in.addr.arpa (my IP Range is 10.0.0.I own also an Airport Extreme Base Station (4th Gen) acting as DSL Modem, DHCP and NAT and creating 2 Wireless networks (private and public network) and it's correctly set up for internet access... In AEBS settings the DNS Servers are 10.0.0.3 (MacMini) and 8.8.8.8...With these settings everyting works fine but all the devices (other Macs, windows PCs, etc.) cannot ping each other... The only machine they can ping is obviusly the MacMini because in the DNS settings i punt manually a machine (A) record...
My question is: is possible to setup Lion Server to dinamically update DNS records using AEBS DHCP entries and reservations ? If possibile i don't want to add all the record manually and I don't want use the AEBS only as an access point...

I just updated my (brand new) iMac to OS 10.7.4 and now I can't download the wi-fi update V1.0 which fixes the issue of not reconnecting to wi-fi network after computer wakes from sleep.

Whether through the App Store or the Apple download page, it starts to download, gets a certain way through, and then just stops. In the App Store, after awhile I get a message that Software Update can't connect to the update server. On the Apple.com download page, it just stops downloading. I don't think it's our internet connection, because the update worked just fine for our other iMac (which is older than the one I'm having trouble with).
