Today I was minding my own business, doing nothin' special and iTunes 10.6.1 started to crash on me. It starts up, after about 10 seconds it crashes and the (by now very familiar) Apple crash report is being generated.

I have tried restarting the machine and no dice. I thought of reinstalling itunes from apples site but each time I go there its says congrats on downloading it but will not download a single thing. On the problems downloading its only gives me answers to PC problems. Â
Do I really have to completely reinstall from my iMac install discs just to get itunes back ? I dont use time machine as I have a 1T hardrive in my imac and use most of it for itunes, even I cant afford a 1T stand alone hard drive just for backups.

I just downloaded Gimp 2.6.6 recently and when I tried using it It bounced up once then crashed, leaving no report dialogue or anything.
I have Xquartz 2.3.2.
just updated to 10.5.7 and I can no longer open safari as it crashes on startup. I have already deleted the preferences files but that hasn't helped.

Out of nowhere, Microsoft Word will no longer open. Microsoft Error Reporting pops up and says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close" every time I try to open it.
I clicked on "More Information" and this endless list popped up
For some reason FCP keeps crashing when I launch a particular project; just this one project! Others don't seem to have this issue. Sometimes it does get as far as loading all the sequences but as soon I I try a play any it crashes! I can say except copying the report below: By the way it mentions plugins but I don't believe (as far as I know) that I have any 3rd party plugins installed.Â

Running OSX Mavericks, when I open Microsoft Word 2011 on a local account it opens fine. However when I open it when I am logged onto a domain account (Active Directory) it crashes on the welcome screen.Â

Was having Adobe shockwave/flash problems while running Chrome, which is not completely unheard of. Restarted my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), which included a software update (though I'm not sure exactly what programs were updated). Now Chrome will not run at all. Every time I start, it crashes immediately. Have tried SEVERAL times to trash/download it, but the same version seems to keep appearing in my Applications folder. Have also tried trashing the Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome folder to no avail. Appears back in its place after dragging it to the trash. Â
In addition, Adobe flash videos for Safari and Firefox (which I just downloaded as a tester) also will not work. Each attempt to update Adobe Flash also ends in a crash. And now I've discovered the same for everything Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The program shuts down and the Microsoft error message appears breifly, followed by the same crash "Mircrosoft Word Error Reporting Quit Unexpectedly" box. Â Again, have tried several times to download Chrome & Adobe Flash to no avail. All system updates have been made to date. What to do next?

In iTunes 9 I have been having a crashing issue randomly. I have pinpointed it down to it happening when other users connect to my shared Library. As soon as someone clicks on my shared music library it sys connecting and My iTunes pops up the crash report. I am using a 2GHz MacBook with OS 10.6 Is anyone else having this problem?

Several things weren't working in this mode, and after a lot of searching online I did the turn off - turn on - press alt, cntrl, P, R and it started booting normally. BUT, itunes crashes whenever I try to turn it on and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've also tried deleting some caches and the flip4mac thing. None of this has worked. My mac is so slow at the moment, and this problem isn't helping.

I am begining to regert upgrading to Lion. Safari is much slower. iMac crashes almost everyday. Never saw these issues with Leopard. I keep on getting the following message from iTunes, and if I don't quit it or force-quit it, I will have a black screen telling me I have to restart. Here is the message:

Ever since updating through software update iTunes to 10.6, it has become almost unusable. It crashes whenever my iPod Touch is connected. I have tried re-installing 10.6 from teh direct download and i have tried to downgrade to 10.5.3 but the system won't let me delete 10.6 as iTunes is now, apparently,a necessary part of the OS.

Over the last couple of day's every-time I open ITunes 10.6 on SL 10.6.8 it crashes , sometimes it will stay open long enough to browse through the A titles in my library then crash and sometimes it will not even open , have done permission repairs and that didn't help?It started this after I installed the last update that Apple pushed a few days ago , cant remember what that was though.

Happens on both of my patched ROM'ed 4780's. Can be tested ad infinitum by opening quicktime, playing few seconds of any video, pausing it, then setting "Put monitor to sleep" to 1 minute in Energy Saver and waiting one minute. As soon as my monitor is fully off and I wake it up I get crash report.................
I have iTunes 8.2b7(10) and it keeps crashing about 15 sec after opening. I have no idea what to do about this any luck? I tried repairing the permissions but no luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedQuicktime and iTunes have been crashing just randomly. Sometimes straight away on startup and it takes 4 crashes to actually stay open, other times it's fine straight away. I've done tested the Machines RAM with Memtest and Rember, pulled it out and put them in different slots and put the RAM back down to 2GB. Deleted all the preferences, new accounts, repair permissions, all the usual stuff.
In the end I just got the ***** so reinstalled the whole OS onto a different hard drive. Fresh install, latest updates, and does it again with Quicktime and iTunes. It never really seems to affect any other programs. (I did get Adium crash today, but that's very very rare)
I run a clean (no add-ons or apps messing with it) iTunes 9.1, and since my 9.0.3 to 9.1 upgrade, I've had a lot of crashes when searching for song names in the column browser.
Is there anything I could do?
