My iTunes keep crashing or shutting down when I click to open it. It freezes then closes. I've reported the bug and it's still doing it. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes wirelessly it also crashes. I've got all the latest software on my MacBook Pro and iPhone so don't know what it could be?
I have a MacBook which has recently been shutting down when it feels like :/ this all started a week or two ago (well not the shut downs but other issues that I'll get too), basically the fan I think has been knocked as it is bumping the top or something as the whirring is getting loud and it sounds like every now and again it hits something
Also CPU usage seems to be averaging out at 20% for Safari and 100% for HD Video where as it used to be very small amount for Safari and 30 - 40% for HD.
In iTunes 9 I have been having a crashing issue randomly. I have pinpointed it down to it happening when other users connect to my shared Library. As soon as someone clicks on my shared music library it sys connecting and My iTunes pops up the crash report. I am using a 2GHz MacBook with OS 10.6 Is anyone else having this problem?
So immediately after itunes 8.1 update and restart my MacPro has been lagging big time. Firefox freezes, Mail freezes...everything is lagging...what gives? i've fixed permissions and verified the disk, there are no errors. anyone else experiencing issues with the update?
Ever since i updated to the new beta iTunes, it keeps crashing like 10 sec after opening it. Ive tried everything and even upgraded to the newest beta but same luck!!!!
A week ago my macbook wouldn't turn on without the safe mode start. Several things weren't working in this mode, and after a lot of searching online I did the turn off - turn on - press alt, cntrl, P, R and it started booting normally. BUT, itunes crashes whenever I try to turn it on and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've also tried deleting some caches and the flip4mac thing. None of this has worked. My mac is so slow at the moment, and this problem isn't helping.
Just downloaded iTunes 9.2 on my computer and works fine except when I try to sync my 160 Gig classic iPod. It will try to verify the user but crashes after that.Anyone experience this? DOES ANTONE KNOW HOW TO UNINSTALL ITUNES 9.2 so and install the earlier version?
I updated my computer to iTunes 10 today, and now every time I connect my iPad 2 or my iPhone 3G and then click on one or the other of them to do a sync, iTunes completely crashes. Both devices are completely up to date, as is my Macbook Pro. But now I can't sync my devices
Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Pad 2 32GB Wifi and iPhone 3G
I am begining to regert upgrading to Lion. Safari is much slower. iMac crashes almost everyday. Never saw these issues with Leopard. I keep on getting the following message from iTunes, and if I don't quit it or force-quit it, I will have a black screen telling me I have to restart. Here is the message:
We couldn't complete your itunes store request: an unknown error occured (-50).
Ever since updating through software update iTunes to 10.6, it has become almost unusable. It crashes whenever my iPod Touch is connected. I have tried re-installing 10.6 from teh direct download and i have tried to downgrade to 10.5.3 but the system won't let me delete 10.6 as iTunes is now, apparently,a necessary part of the OS.
Over the last couple of day's every-time I open ITunes 10.6 on SL 10.6.8 it crashes , sometimes it will stay open long enough to browse through the A titles in my library then crash and sometimes it will not even open , have done permission repairs and that didn't help?It started this after I installed the last update that Apple pushed a few days ago , cant remember what that was though.
Today I was minding my own business, doing nothin' special and iTunes 10.6.1 started to crash on me. It starts up, after about 10 seconds it crashes and the (by now very familiar) Apple crash report is being generated.
I appear to be having an identical issue to someone else who posted the following in the "race to dump the 4870 rom" thread, which I will quote below: Quote: Originally Posted by v0n I'm actually having small, odd problem since update to 10.5.7 - whenever monitor goes to sleep, any open application application using QE/CI - be it iTunes or Quicktime - crashes with Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at /insert random address/
Happens on both of my patched ROM'ed 4780's. Can be tested ad infinitum by opening quicktime, playing few seconds of any video, pausing it, then setting "Put monitor to sleep" to 1 minute in Energy Saver and waiting one minute. As soon as my monitor is fully off and I wake it up I get crash report.................
I have iTunes 8.2b7(10) and it keeps crashing about 15 sec after opening. I have no idea what to do about this any luck? I tried repairing the permissions but no luck.
Quicktime and iTunes have been crashing just randomly. Sometimes straight away on startup and it takes 4 crashes to actually stay open, other times it's fine straight away. I've done tested the Machines RAM with Memtest and Rember, pulled it out and put them in different slots and put the RAM back down to 2GB. Deleted all the preferences, new accounts, repair permissions, all the usual stuff.
In the end I just got the ***** so reinstalled the whole OS onto a different hard drive. Fresh install, latest updates, and does it again with Quicktime and iTunes. It never really seems to affect any other programs. (I did get Adium crash today, but that's very very rare)
I run a clean (no add-ons or apps messing with it) iTunes 9.1, and since my 9.0.3 to 9.1 upgrade, I've had a lot of crashes when searching for song names in the column browser.
I installed iTunes 10.6 a few days ago. Ever since then, iTunes will run until I try to sync any of my devices. I have tried sync'ing iPad, different generations/typs of iPod and iPhone. They all cause the app to quit "unexpectedly". I can play music from iTunes on my computer - it just fails when connecting to a device via the USB port or wi-fi. I reinstalled iTunes today.
Since updating to SL itunes has been crashing unexpectedly. I updated about a week ago and already itunes has crashed 4 times. Just tonight it has crashed once while syncing to my ipod touch and once when attempting to access itunes store. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. My system is a 1st gen unibody pro 2.8 GHz 15" 4 Gb RAM. I was also playing music while the last two crashes happened.
I'm having an issue where iTunes on my iMac crashes regularly when being accessed via the Remote app on my iPad.Â
I use the Remote app to control iTunes running on my iMac upstairs, and stream the music to my AppleTV downstairs. Lately, I'll launch the Remote app, it will start to display my iTunes library or what's currently playing, and then lose the connection to iTunes. When I go to my iMac, iTunes has crashed.Â
This seems to be random, or at least I can't see any pattern. It doesn't happen every time I launch the Remote app, but it does happen regularly now, and sometimes several times in a row.Â
I don't have a problem with iTunes crashing under any other circumstance. It seems like an iTunes bug. iMac running 10.7.3 iPad with iOS 5.1 iTunes version 10.6.1 Apple TV 2 with latest software Latest version of the Remote app
My mac mini keeps crashing. I recently updated the software, following apple prompts. Every time I open a movie in itunes, it goes for 5 mins then stops. The mac fan gets really loud and the whole computer crashes. I have to restart, then the same problem occurs!
A user upgraded their MacBook Air, 10.9.3, and now iTunes is crashing when we check for updates and FaceTime is crashing. I'm not sure what else is crashing at this time.Â

I'm using 10.4.11 on a PB 12" and recently updated to iTunes 8.1. Ever since, iTunes will attempt to launch, getting past the "loading music library" prompt but then crashing immediately following. I've reinstalled the program, and also updated quicktime, but no avail. I can post a crash report, but here are the things that stick out to me: Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x6c6f6c00 Thread 0 crashed with PPC Thread State 64
well my computer has been crashing a lot recently (i noticed it seems to be mostly while safari and itunes are running at the same time but i have no idea if this is the cause of the problem or just a coincidence). I read one thing that told me to check my system logs, so i did and the only thing that i found weird that was around the time i crashed was this, but i have no idea what it means.
