OS X :: Gimp 2.6.6 Crashing On Startup?
Mar 30, 2009I just downloaded Gimp 2.6.6 recently and when I tried using it It bounced up once then crashed, leaving no report dialogue or anything.
I have Xquartz 2.3.2.

May 19, 2009just updated to 10.5.7 and I can no longer open safari as it crashes on startup. I have already deleted the preferences files but that hasn't helped.

Apr 18, 2012Today I was minding my own business, doing nothin' special and iTunes 10.6.1 started to crash on me. It starts up, after about 10 seconds it crashes and the (by now very familiar) Apple crash report is being generated.

Sep 28, 2009It takes me multiple tries to get it to work. It literally took me 10 minutes this time! It started this morning, so I rebooted, and it happened again. I rebooted just now to see how it was and the same thing happened. I'm running 10.6.1. What's going on? It's quite frustrating.

May 19, 2009Out of nowhere, Microsoft Word will no longer open. Microsoft Error Reporting pops up and says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close" every time I try to open it.

Aug 26, 2014For some reason FCP keeps crashing when I launch a particular project; just this one project! Others don't seem to have this issue. Sometimes it does get as far as loading all the sequences but as soon I I try a play any it crashes! I can say except copying the report below: By the way it mentions plugins but I don't believe (as far as I know) that I have any 3rd party plugins installed.Â

I have tried restarting the machine and no dice. I thought of reinstalling itunes from apples site but each time I go there its says congrats on downloading it but will not download a single thing. On the problems downloading its only gives me answers to PC problems. Â
Do I really have to completely reinstall from my iMac install discs just to get itunes back ? I dont use time machine as I have a 1T hardrive in my imac and use most of it for itunes, even I cant afford a 1T stand alone hard drive just for backups.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Can't Update Adobe Flash Now Word, Chrome, Etc All Crashing On Startup?
May 27, 2012Was having Adobe shockwave/flash problems while running Chrome, which is not completely unheard of. Restarted my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), which included a software update (though I'm not sure exactly what programs were updated). Now Chrome will not run at all. Every time I start, it crashes immediately. Have tried SEVERAL times to trash/download it, but the same version seems to keep appearing in my Applications folder. Have also tried trashing the Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome folder to no avail. Appears back in its place after dragging it to the trash. Â
In addition, Adobe flash videos for Safari and Firefox (which I just downloaded as a tester) also will not work. Each attempt to update Adobe Flash also ends in a crash. And now I've discovered the same for everything Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The program shuts down and the Microsoft error message appears breifly, followed by the same crash "Mircrosoft Word Error Reporting Quit Unexpectedly" box. Â Again, have tried several times to download Chrome & Adobe Flash to no avail. All system updates have been made to date. What to do next?

Jun 17, 2010Since upgrading on Tuesday night, My mail has been crashing every time I try and compose, and/or, send an email. Also, the hard drive is running continuously, almost as if Time Machine was running or it was defragging. And, some programs, i.e. Second Life, just freeze on start-up.

Nov 29, 2008I am using Leopard version 10.5.5 on a Mac Pro and Mail keeps crashing when trying to sync accounts.
I have two MobileMe accounts that sync with the account, and it always crashes while doing a search for new mail.
It was working fine this morning, I then turned my computer off to go to work, the only difference now is that I started my computer up with my iPhone connected. At first I thought that may have been the problem, so I restarted without it.
Now for the actual question; If I can't resolve it, does anyone think that deleting the Preferences file will fix it.

Apr 27, 2012I recently (2 months ago) purchased a new mac book pro and migrated everything from my older mac book pro running Snow Leopard to Lion.Since moving to Lion I have been experiencing frequent crashes of Mac Mail, I spend a large portion of my work day in mail and experience this as many as a dozen times a day. Mac Mail will crash while
1) composing an email,
2) when clicking a link in an email
3) clicking the attachment icon to add an attachment
4) clicking on an attachment that has been sent to me
5) somestimes just trying to exit/close Mac Mail and the it hangs and I have tp force quit. After Mac Mail crashes and is restarted, clicking on the same link or attachment will workI have removed my mail IMAP folder and settings and re-established the connection from scratch but the problem persists.I have ran the disk permissions repair utility and the problem persists. I have ran the verfiy disk utility and it reports no problems.I have ran the Apple hardware tests including the extended tests and no hardware issues are found. Has one experienced somewthing similiar?Does anyone have any suggestions where to start looking for the root cause? Jul 2, 2012We are using a Imac 27" mid 2010, Mac OS Lion. When an email arrives while working in Quark or Photoshop (and other programs) we leave the program and go to mail to read it. On returning to either Quark or Photoshop etc the program has stopped responding requiring a force quit. Mail also seems to be running slower than usual.

Feb 2, 2008I have a problem with Mail. it crashed everytime i open the application, and i keep on reporting it to apple, and sometimes ignoring that, and nothing changes.
it happened to me before when i try to open a certain email from my friend. now when i open Mail, it automatically opens the first email on the list, and it's another email which has the same problem.
i don't know how to solve this problem.
My laptop is a Macbook pro 2.16ghz core2duo processor, 2gb ram, 160gb harddisk (80 gb free space), Running Leopard 10.5.1.

Oct 24, 2009I am using a MacBook Pro 4,1 with 2 Intel processors. I am running OS 10.6.1. Ever since I installed Snow Leopard, my Mail app has misbehaved. It crashes routinely whenever I add an attachment. It never did this under 10.5. It also crashes occasionally when I save an attachment. Sometimes it appears to have taken the attachment, but when the message is sent, the attachment is corrupted. I think the only app I am having trouble with is Mail, although I think that Safari has crashed sometimes when a PDF file was downloaded. The problem seems to be associated with Snow Leopard. Should I try to do a clean install of Snow Leopard?

Dec 4, 2014I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on a 2014 Macbook Pro. On startup Mail crashes immediately with the following error: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'An EWS folder ID string didn't have a corresponding mailbox name'Â
I have three email accounts (Exchange, iCloud, Gmail) and have disabled each one in turn and Mail opens and works fine with the iCloud and Gmail accounts. So it's definitely a problem with Exchange. In the Mail accounts pane the 'Advanced' tab has a listing for Internal Server Path with 'EWS/ Exchange.asmx' listed in the box, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that (given the EWS bit in the error message)?Â
I've moved the com.apple.mail folder to the desktop and re-opened Mail (I've moved the folder back to where it was). I can access my Exchange mail from both iPhone and iPad, so the problem seems to be restricted to OS X Mail rather than a problem with a specific email (seems logical?).Â

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: Delete An Outgoing Email That Keeps Crashing Mail?
Mar 26, 2012I tried sending an email this morning. It was addressed to about 220 people, all BCCd.Â
When I hit send, I got the message:
Cannot send message using the server Gmail [it's a gmail account, obviously]
The server "smtp.gmail.com" did not recognize the following recipients:
Big list of every email addressÂ
I couldn't get out of this screen, so I force quit.Â
Now that message is still in the Outbox, and every time I try to open Mail, it tries to send that message again, and I get the same error message.
I ended up going onto gmail.com and just sending it from there with no issues.Â
I would like to delete this message so it would just stop crashing Mail, but I can't figure out how to do it.Â
I'm running 10.7.3, the version of Mail is 5.2Â
