OS X :: Safari Crashing At Startup On 10.5.7?
May 19, 2009just updated to 10.5.7 and I can no longer open safari as it crashes on startup. I have already deleted the preferences files but that hasn't helped.

OS X :: Gimp 2.6.6 Crashing On Startup?
Mar 30, 2009I just downloaded Gimp 2.6.6 recently and when I tried using it It bounced up once then crashed, leaving no report dialogue or anything.
I have Xquartz 2.3.2.
ITunes :: It Keeps Crashing On Startup
Apr 18, 2012Today I was minding my own business, doing nothin' special and iTunes 10.6.1 started to crash on me. It starts up, after about 10 seconds it crashes and the (by now very familiar) Apple crash report is being generated.

MacBook Pro :: Finder Crashing On Startup?
Sep 28, 2009It takes me multiple tries to get it to work. It literally took me 10 minutes this time! It started this morning, so I rebooted, and it happened again. I rebooted just now to see how it was and the same thing happened. I'm running 10.6.1. What's going on? It's quite frustrating.

May 19, 2009Out of nowhere, Microsoft Word will no longer open. Microsoft Error Reporting pops up and says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close" every time I try to open it.

Aug 26, 2014For some reason FCP keeps crashing when I launch a particular project; just this one project! Others don't seem to have this issue. Sometimes it does get as far as loading all the sequences but as soon I I try a play any it crashes! I can say except copying the report below: By the way it mentions plugins but I don't believe (as far as I know) that I have any 3rd party plugins installed.

Aug 28, 2014Running OSX Mavericks, when I open Microsoft Word 2011 on a local account it opens fine. However when I open it when I am logged onto a domain account (Active Directory) it crashes on the welcome screen.

I have tried restarting the machine and no dice. I thought of reinstalling itunes from apples site but each time I go there its says congrats on downloading it but will not download a single thing. On the problems downloading its only gives me answers to PC problems.
Do I really have to completely reinstall from my iMac install discs just to get itunes back ? I dont use time machine as I have a 1T hardrive in my imac and use most of it for itunes, even I cant afford a 1T stand alone hard drive just for backups.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Can't Update Adobe Flash Now Word, Chrome, Etc All Crashing On Startup?
May 27, 2012Was having Adobe shockwave/flash problems while running Chrome, which is not completely unheard of. Restarted my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), which included a software update (though I'm not sure exactly what programs were updated). Now Chrome will not run at all. Every time I start, it crashes immediately. Have tried SEVERAL times to trash/download it, but the same version seems to keep appearing in my Applications folder. Have also tried trashing the Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome folder to no avail. Appears back in its place after dragging it to the trash.
In addition, Adobe flash videos for Safari and Firefox (which I just downloaded as a tester) also will not work. Each attempt to update Adobe Flash also ends in a crash. And now I've discovered the same for everything Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The program shuts down and the Microsoft error message appears breifly, followed by the same crash "Mircrosoft Word Error Reporting Quit Unexpectedly" box. Again, have tried several times to download Chrome & Adobe Flash to no avail. All system updates have been made to date. What to do next?

Nov 5, 2010I'm going to jump off a bridge if it keeps crashing on me like this. The worst part about it is that Safari doesn't have a feature that brings your tabs back if your browser crashes. Anywho, I tried reinstalling but I don't think that helped. I also tried clearing everything under preferences but that didn't seem to work. It's the most annoying when I'm watching YouTube videos in full screen and then once the video is over, I get that rainbow ball and next thing you know, Safari crashed. Does anyone know anything else I can do? I don't feel like switching back to Firefox. I love Firefox, but not as much on the Mac. And I think Chrome is just meh, I don't like Google that much since they're involved with almost everything.

Jun 7, 2010Just did update to Safari 5.0 via software update. G4 Dual 867 OSX 10.5.8. Crashes every time I attempt to click on any link. Starts to connect, Beachball-crash. If left idle, without clicking any link, still crashes after less than a minute. Fixed permissions, re-installed with download from Apple site, permissions again..... no difference. Disabled Click to Flash, Ad Blocker...same thing. Just won't work!!!

Aug 13, 2010Safari keeps crashing on open (it doesn't even start to open - just goes straight to crash report). It seems to be doing this since I upgraded to 5.01. I have posted the crash report below which is always the same - ie it crashes on thread 3 but I am unable to decipher why.
I repaired the permissions a number of times - and rebooted. This worked once and safari was up an running again. But the next time I came to open it it was broken again. I have even tried a reboot into safe mode which I believe rewrites all permissions rather than just repairing them - didn't work!

OS X :: Safari Crashing When Trying To Print A PDF
Oct 29, 2010Using Safari 5.0.2 and crashing constantly when trying to print a PDF file out of the browser. I am using the Schubert-it PDF Viewer to view and print. Sometimes it crashes when I merely click on the print icon on the website or after the PDF file opens up in a separate window and click the print button on the separate window. It has also crashed using different printers.
Could someone take a look at this crash report log and see if anything looks weird. This just started happening, so I am not sure what I did.I have it attached as a doc file since it was too long.

I always choose to close and then I relaunch the browser on my own, but has anyone come across this before is it just me, I need to solve this issue quickly.

Jun 9, 2009I installed the new release of Safari today and, while it runs fine on my Intel Macbook, it's a disaster on my G4 Powerbook. Pages either half-load before freezing or load fully and then freeze. Buttons become unresponsive, though i can still quit with the File menu. With three tabs open, the browser crashed completely and quit (several times). Has anyone else experienced this? I'm using a G4 15" Powerbook with a 1.2GHz processor and 1GB memory (which should be more than enough, according to Apple) *update: i just noticed the problem goes away if I disable Javascript... but this isn't exactly a solution.
