ITunes :: Latest Version Keeps Crashing

I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes and since having done this, it continually crashes and will not open.Â
Everytime I attempt to open it it says iTunes has quit unexpedadly and asks to send the following report extract to apple, which I have done.Â

I downloaded latest version of iTunes but cannot run it. When I try to start iTunes it asks to 'restore /don't restore' windows then quits unexpectedly and I get an alert telling me iTunes quit....

For years I've used iTunes' "Create AAC version" .mp3 to .m4a feature in the advanced menu, primarily to reduce the file size of my many thousand mp3 songs.
Since the latest update to iTunes, whenever I do this now, the AAC version file size created by iTunes get larger, and makes the .m4a significantly bigger than an .mp3.
I understood the very point of an AAC/.m4a was to be a smaller sized file of an equivilent .mp3 while keeping a similar quality.
I know large artwork affects the file size, but this still happens regardless of artwork.
Does anyone know what's changed re this feature in this latest update?

I've been out of the loop for a couple of years and I'm thinking it might be time to consider an upgrade. I am presently using OSX 10.4.11 (Tiger?) on an iMac 4,1. Can anyone advise if the latest version is worth it? I have no idea how many versions there have been between 10.4 and the newest. I have not visited the Apple site to price it nor read the reviews. I have always valued the opinions of you people here.

I noticed that recently that all decent sized apps launched slower than before. I got the spinning color wheel for a while before I can use the app. The spinning beach ball also reveals itself when switching modes within certain apps. Might this be due to my hard drive became much fragmented? My OS is latest version of Snow Leopard. All the posts on the Internet says that with modern OS X, I would not need to worry about defragmenting the hard drive. Do I have an option of defragmenting my hard drive if I wanted to?

I recently got a mac with the version 10.4 on it. I want to use the itunes store but it says that it requires the safari 4.0.3 or higher version on it. But when I try to download this version it says it requires mac 10.5 in order to run. Is there a version of Safari 4.0.3 for mac 10.4?

I have a mac OSX version 10.5.8 and i was trying to install the ilife 11 i just bought and was super excited about but when i tryed to download ilife 11 it said i needed to update my computer, so i went and downloaded the updates but my mac still says its the same version! and ilife wont install... I tried to go back and install the updates again but there not there it says I'm all updated! but 10.5.8 is not the latest version right ? What should I do?

Ive recently bought a macbook pro and am thinking about gettin some KRK RP6 studio speakers, I also have some denons cd decks (with denon mixer) and i would like to connect the lot so i can record onto my macbook pro and for the sound to come out my krk speakers. I've had an iMac for 8 months now, and I have recently bought a new router as my previous one died after 3 years of service and so I got a new one from BT (I'm in the UK). The new router works with 3 laptops, an iPhone, and two desktop PCs - but not with my iMac.
It intermittently picks up the signal and when it does finally connect, says the router is not connected to the internet - despite my laptop and iPhone being on the same desk and connecting.

I am running Safari 5.1.5 on a recent macbook air.Â
I have a web-site and when I change it safari on the macbook will continue to show an old version of the site. (the site is updated, as safari on my ipad does show the recent version).Â

I have a 17" UniBody MacBook Pro. As far as I'm aware it's the newest version. It has 8 GB of Ram and the Intel Core i7 in it.Â
When I attempt to turn the machine on- nothing at all happens. If I plug the MagSafe into it, I get no light or anything on the connector. Also, the battery status indicator on the left side seems entirely dead too.Â
Hopefully this is a simple fix, but I have a pretty bad feeling about this. It is still under warranty, but I use this MacBook in production as a DJ, and I rely heavily on it for my Midi Controller when I do a gig. (I have a few coming up really soon).
