I have a 2007 imac and my esc button does not work. I was watching a video on full screen but the vid had no option to exit full screen so i jus kinda went crazzzzzy on the keyboard and my screen turned FLUORESCENT..wtf? i restarted, rebooted, shut down but still having the issue.

I press control + shift + eject on my new imac, and the screen turns off as promised. However, most of the time, actually, almost every time -- the screen comes back on after a second or two.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought my new IMac on friday. Worked great for a day and then I had a problem. The fan came on really loud for about a good 10 secs and the screen turned off. I hit the power button and the screen came back on quickly like it had went to sleep. However, the fan came right back on very loud and the screen went black. I did this a couple times until I just let it shut down for an hour because I thought it overheated.
The next time I turned it on it worked fine for about 3 hours and suddenly the fan came on super loud. This time the screen didn't shut off and I was able to continue but it was abnormally loud. This morning I turned it on again and within a minute the fan came on AGAIN. I have to mention that I'm not using any intensive application or anything. The last time I think I only had safari up. Also, this is my first mac and it's not looking promising...
We have iMacs and Macbook pros at work but we need to connect to them from home. I am not concerned with getting a VPN connection. That part is taken care of. Problem is I need a client such as a Windows Remote Desktop Connection. Where if I connect to the Mac from home it just allows me to use the session and not take up a lot of bandwidth for screen sharing. People in the office do not need to know what project i'm working on.

yesterday i left a file download in firefox for 5 hours then went back to check on it , it was working FINE, Then i got Back after 2 minutes and the screen is suddenly white and not showing anything i shut down the laptop and restarted , there was a chime and just white screen...i connected the laptop to an external monitor AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING on the external screen but the laptop screen is white!
Just got an iMac yesterday. Today when I turned on the iTunes screen saver, the screen turned black, and wouldn't respond. I held the power button for several seconds until it turned off, and then turned it back on. Everything was ok until I went to configure the screen savers. As soon as I picked the first one, the preview screen turned gray, and the wheel started spinning. I used force quit on it, and tried loading a different screen saver, and same thing happened.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI turned on the MBP today (Mid-2007 Santa Rosa) and everything was going fine- until the screen started to jump! Literally the whole display bounces constantly, revealing a white line at the top of the screen (as if trying to center the screen or something). This is on the LCD- haven't tested it on a monitor yet. I just had my logic board replaced about 4 months ago for a faulty 8600GT chip- I'm so hoping it's not that.

I'm desperately trying to get my 3 year old macbook to cooperate - it operates fine although it has been very slow lately but occasionally it will freeze and flash a blue screen, then either just remain frozen or shut down. When I try to turn it back on, it responds as normal, but as the desktop, wireless bars, etc start to load, the pinwheel comes up and then the screen flashes blue, and the whole process of loading the desktop starts over. This repeats endlessly until after turning on and off a few times and waiting about ten minutes it will finally turn back on- something is clearly up and I'm afraid I am going to lose data.

I've been using my computer like I normally do this morning. I was listening to iTunes on it and noticed it was acting a little slow and glitchy. When I went to get back on my computer I opened it up and nothing showed on the screen, it was all black. However the little white light is shining so I know it's on. I've only had my Mac for a little over a year now and have never had this problem before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI spilt water on my macbook pro, and wasn't smart enough to let it dry out. When I plug it into charge, no light from the charger comes on. When I turn on the computer, it starts up, the screen is still pitch black.... but if I look close enough I barely can see my startup screen. I am thinking about replacing the logic board? What should I do about this situation. I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money at the apple store to have this replace.

A couple of nights ago, my iMac randomly turned on in the middle of the night, so I held the back power button to shut it off. Later that morning, I tried to turn it on and was left with this screen (see attachment). I was very confused.
