MacBook Pro :: Turned On But The Screen Is Blank - OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
Sep 6, 2014
I've been using my computer like I normally do this morning. I was listening to iTunes on it and noticed it was acting a little slow and glitchy. When I went to get back on my computer I opened it up and nothing showed on the screen, it was all black. However the little white light is shining so I know it's on. I've only had my Mac for a little over a year now and have never had this problem before.

I just got my IMac. I have no clue what happened it was working fine. In the morning when I turned it on it just went blank turned on to a white screen with an apple on it and nothing else is happening.
Since a while for some reason safari decides to reload all my tabs open in the browser. A sandball pops up and the webpages I am currently working in turns blank. When I switch to another opened tab this one turns also blank and reloads. This is pretty annoying and consumes a lot of time. How can I overcome this problem? My system is a MacBook Pro early 2011, OS X lion with all updates.

I turned on the MBP today (Mid-2007 Santa Rosa) and everything was going fine- until the screen started to jump! Literally the whole display bounces constantly, revealing a white line at the top of the screen (as if trying to center the screen or something). This is on the LCD- haven't tested it on a monitor yet. I just had my logic board replaced about 4 months ago for a faulty 8600GT chip- I'm so hoping it's not that.
My wife's MacBook Pro has been doing this for some months now. It prompts her login credentials when something is changed in system preferences or like this one, an update from Adobe.
i had the macbook Core 2 Duo for About 8 months and it was working great. yesterday i left a file download in firefox for 5 hours then went back to check on it , it was working FINE, Then i got Back after 2 minutes and the screen is suddenly white and not showing anything i shut down the laptop and restarted , there was a chime and just white screen...i connected the laptop to an external monitor AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING on the external screen but the laptop screen is white!
I recently purchased an SSD and plan to do the upgrade to my Macbook Pro early 2011.
What I'm planning to do is the following:Remove old HDDInstall SSD out of the box (un-formatted with no data on it)Boot up Macbook and start OSX Internet recoveryInstall OSX MavericksÂ
My question is, doing Internet recovery will apple Store let me install Mavericks right away or will I have to install
the original OS that the system originally shipped with (Mountain Lion) first and then install Mavericks?

I spilt water on my macbook pro, and wasn't smart enough to let it dry out. When I plug it into charge, no light from the charger comes on. When I turn on the computer, it starts up, the screen is still pitch black.... but if I look close enough I barely can see my startup screen. I am thinking about replacing the logic board? What should I do about this situation. I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money at the apple store to have this replace.
For the new macbook pro users, when going into fullscreen for a youtube video is it normal for the screen to turn greyish momentarily (1-2 seconds) while the graphics card switches? Can anyone check and report?
I previously installed lion os x on my macbook which was a snow leopard. When I then turn it on, it shows the grey screen and stays there forever nothing happens.
My computer fell off my bed onto the carpet and now the screen stays dark but the computer still comes on. Is there anyway to fix the screen? I know the computer is on because I pressed the caps lock key and I can hear it when I turn it on or off.
Screen sharing cannot be turned off or blocked because it says that the "Remote Management service" is using it. I have no other computers in my home. how can i block it?

Got this mac friday but haven't really played with it before yesterday. My problem is:
1) Yesterday I went for logging in to facebook, but suddenly the screen went green? Had to close the mac down and start it again. 2) After I had turned it on and was on the desktop the screen (with me doing nothing) went white, and I had to do the same again. 3) This morning when I wanted to turn the mac on, it wouldn't! But few hours later I tried again and there I could turn it on by pressing esc + start button.
Should I call for a replacement? (Already had two - 1 with dead pixel and 1 with creaking).
I was using it in my bedroom, it was plugged in. I went to make some food, and upon my return I am greeted by a blank screen, probably just a hiccup right? So I held the power button down expecting it to spring back in to life. But it didn't. It wouldn't turn back on. At all. Luckily, I thought, I have my old 2006 Macbook that I keep as a back up just for times like this. As it hasn't been turned on for a while, the low battery warning comes on, so I plug it in. 10 seconds later, it hibernates. I switch it back on, but it keeps hibernating for no good reason. So I think restarting it will solve the problem. It didn't. It too, now wouldn't turn back on. At all.
In the space of a few minutes, they both completely died. I've tried resetting SMC, PRAM, everything I've found on Apple's support page and forums like this. Nothing has worked. The light on the power cable glows orange when plugged in, so it is still charging, and the battery indicator lights on the side of the MBP work fine. Aside from that, they are both completely lifeless...........
when I turn on my computer there is a blank screen. You can still hear the normal noises coming from the computer like any normal boot-up. But if I let my computer sit for a while without turning it on, it will turn on with weird almost static noises. If I force shut down then try again, I get the normal boot-up noises. I tried the safe boot-up method, holding down the shift button while turning the computer on, but no dice. I actually tried this method on both the good and static noise boot-up.
Yesterday I was working with my MBP in one of my client's office and the computer went blank. The screen turn to black and it was still ON. I had to press the ON/OFF button to shut the computer.
I'm trying to upgrade to LION to move to iCloud...the folks at the genius bar recommended that I go from 2gb ram to 4. They gave me the website to purchase the memory and told me how to load it. Prior to loading, I shutdown the computer and unplugged it. I then removed the 2 1 gb cards and replaced with 2gb cards. The loading seems to have gone fine, but all I get is a power light on the front of the case and a sound that makes me think it's running....the screen is totallly black though.
I have a MacBook Pro with 10.7.3 installed. When I go to my system settings and click on iCloud the page is blank. Just grey screen in the window where it should show whatever should show with iCloud.
