Jun 27, 2010I turned on the MBP today (Mid-2007 Santa Rosa) and everything was going fine- until the screen started to jump! Literally the whole display bounces constantly, revealing a white line at the top of the screen (as if trying to center the screen or something). This is on the LCD- haven't tested it on a monitor yet. I just had my logic board replaced about 4 months ago for a faulty 8600GT chip- I'm so hoping it's not that.

MacBook Pro :: Specific Strand Of HD Still Fragmented After System Defrag
Aug 8, 2009I ran a system defrag on my Macbook pro with techtool Pro and after the defrag is done, if I run the defrag again it shows on the graph a specific strand of the hard drive is still fragmented its minuscule but no matter what it doesn't go away and it doesn't leave em with one contiguous block of free space... whats going on?

Sep 6, 2014I've been using my computer like I normally do this morning. I was listening to iTunes on it and noticed it was acting a little slow and glitchy. When I went to get back on my computer I opened it up and nothing showed on the screen, it was all black. However the little white light is shining so I know it's on. I've only had my Mac for a little over a year now and have never had this problem before.

Feb 19, 2010I spilt water on my macbook pro, and wasn't smart enough to let it dry out. When I plug it into charge, no light from the charger comes on. When I turn on the computer, it starts up, the screen is still pitch black.... but if I look close enough I barely can see my startup screen. I am thinking about replacing the logic board? What should I do about this situation. I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money at the apple store to have this replace.

Jun 24, 2009I don't know if anyone posted this issue before. I can not control screen Brightness on my MBP 13'. I tried my F1 and F2 key and the Nvidia Control Panel, either of them is working. I installed all the drivers from the CD and it can actually show the icon in the center(bottom) of the screen when I hit the F1 or F2 Key. However, the brightness adjust does not work,the screen stay the same.

Windows On Mac :: Disk Cannot Be Partitioned - Fragmented Files
Jun 7, 2009I'm trying to create a partition for Windows, but I'm getting the message "disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved." A poster in another thread concerning this problem said that to create a partition, Bootcamp needs continuous space or something. I do have many large files, and I had up to 3 GB free out of 180 a few minutes ago until I deleted some files to get about 58 GB. I tried partitioning with 45 GB and got the error message. I also tried lower numbers, but nothing worked. I'm assuming it's because my files are fragmented. Then I looked up defragment in the forums and found that many people are against it whether it's because it "slows down the computer" or "it is unnecessary." Now I'm in a bind because I don't want to reinstall my OS, but now I'm hearing I shouldn't defrag either.

May 20, 2009Just got an iMac yesterday. Today when I turned on the iTunes screen saver, the screen turned black, and wouldn't respond. I held the power button for several seconds until it turned off, and then turned it back on. Everything was ok until I went to configure the screen savers. As soon as I picked the first one, the preview screen turned gray, and the wheel started spinning. I used force quit on it, and tried loading a different screen saver, and same thing happened.

May 15, 2008A couple of days ago I bought a new album off the iTunes Store. No issues were noted with the download but when I display the Music or Purchased lists of media in the Group View then iTunes displays the tracks like they are from separate albums. The tracks are part of a compilation album ("Eddie Halliwell Presents Fire It Up") but they should all be displayed as items of the same album as a list of tracks beside the album artwork.
I've attached to this post a screenshot of part of what I see, which shows a normal album at the top and a few of the fragmented tracks from the new album below. The Group View has been sorted by Album.
OS X :: MB Stutters Blue Screen When Turned On And Shuts Down
Mar 4, 2009I'm desperately trying to get my 3 year old macbook to cooperate - it operates fine although it has been very slow lately but occasionally it will freeze and flash a blue screen, then either just remain frozen or shut down. When I try to turn it back on, it responds as normal, but as the desktop, wireless bars, etc start to load, the pinwheel comes up and then the screen flashes blue, and the whole process of loading the desktop starts over. This repeats endlessly until after turning on and off a few times and waiting about ten minutes it will finally turn back on- something is clearly up and I'm afraid I am going to lose data.
