When I take a screenshot the sound is made and it saved on my desktop, all fine, but the image is fuzzed and all messed up, even the thumbnail looks wrong, I don't know why this is, or what can be possibly causing it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAm having a problem with the screen getting "messed up" is the best way that I can describe it. Happens with all different apps running but nearly always shows up when trying to edit a photo in iPhoto. When I make an adjustment there (like sharpening) the photo will turn all red and the system will lock up. This does not always happen, but just most of the time. In other apps, it can result in just messing up that page or the entire screen. I can replace the Graphics card myself if that is what the problem is but is there any way to test it before laying out the $250?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore my new iMac took 2 minutes to boot up and I re-installed SL and it is now fixed but now, like the 27 inch, the videos on youtube are really choppy and the sound is messed up. It only happens occasionally and is fixed with a restart and is really annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI actually don't know how long I've had this problem, as I just sort of noticed it one day (it's not all that readily apparent). The title of this thread basically says it all. There's a "fuzzy," thin white(ish)/translucent band that stretches horizontally across my 15'' glossy MacBook Pro display (purchased in early 2010, so I guess it's considered a mid 2009 model), about an inch up from the bottom of the bezel. It's only super noticeable on top of relatively neutral colors. I'm quite certain that it's a hardware issue, as it doesn't appear in screenshots. I've attached a photograph to this thread so you can see it for yourself.. the band I'm talking about is just above the mouse pointer (and clearly my dock is hidden so you can see it easier). If there are any hardware savvy people here, I'd be most appreciative if you could clue me in to the exact nature of the problem, and whether or not you think I could fix it myself... I think my basic 1 year warranty is still good, but I haven't decided if the problem is worth living without my mac for a few days (or weeks? this is my first apple computer, so I don't know how long repairs typically take).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was given a Macbook 5.2 2009 Early, with nvidia 9400m because it has a little problem and the previous owner has taken another one. Basically, the display colors are fuzzy. I already tried the CTRL ALT CMD 8 but does not change much. I tried resetting the PRAM by holding down ALT + CMD + R + P at startup and waiting for the second sound before leaving, but nothing happened. I tried to re-install the operating system, but no way. I cannot try it on an external monitor, but using teamviewer this is the result, you see everything perfectly. The image also shows colors comparison. Could that be the display data cable? Display itself? VGA card?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this new the other day when I import pictures from my canon a650 camera iphoto opens up as usual opens the pictures on the camera but all the pictures are fuzzy, like the are slightly pixelated. Once downloaded they look fine. I have checked every preference setting I could and cant figure it out? I am using Iphoto 08 7.1.5
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne of the relatives were complaining about a fuzzy/colourful line over their iMac screen.. I figured it would be a display/hardware issue.. Until I remote desktop'd into the machine. Somehow, the line is showing through Remote Desktop..
Its' just on the background, and stays over the background picture no matter what (I've tried to change it, etc.) Tried to repair permissions too - nothing.
Mac Mini G4 1.42Ghz. Display is fuzzy and ghosting. Have changed monitor - no improvement. Also monitor lead and VGA adapter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday, my screen has been acting really wierd. Every few hours, the screen goes all fuzzy with a bunch of white lines on it, and it becomes completely unusable. It only happens for a few seconds each time (fortunately, it's fine right now), but it's kinda got me worried because I need to keep this computer for 2 more years before getting a new one, and I can't afford to fix it. I can't stop using it because I need it for school, so if it breaks, I'm completely screwed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI own a MacPro1,1 that has a Geforce 7300 GT running on it. That video card comes with one Dual-Link DVI port, and anonther that is Single-Link. I just bought a Dell 30" 3008WFP monitor that has a max resolution of 2560x1900.
When I first connected, it worked great. I was getting the max res; life was good. Then I started getting this random green fuzzy screen that would come and go at whim. I couldn't reproduce it, and worse was I have not figured out a way to get rid of it. Early on, just unplugging and replugging in the cable worked. Then that stopped working. Rebooting stopped working. Once i was able to get the green to go away by powering down the display and powering it back up. Yes, totally random.
Here are some more facts:
1. Setting a lower resolution doesn't rid me of the green fuzz effect.
2. If i connect to the same monitor using the single-link DVI port, everything works great, but only reaches 1920X1600 (as expected).
3. Connecting to different monitor using the Dual-Link DVI port works fine, albeit that the other monitor has a lesser max resolution.
4. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and I have all my software updates in place.
5. I've attached a screenshot of what this looks like.
I purchased Snapz Pro X to record screen capture footage for a project I am doing. After recording the .mov files I imported them into FCP and edited together a sequence along with music and titling. Unfortunately in the output video the footage looks compressed and fuzzy. I have the project resolution set to an HD setting, but I'm still getting a fuzzy looking screen shot. What is the proper way to import screen captures into FCP and how do I export them without loosing resolution.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 15" 1st gen UMBP and I've been having some issues with the sound. At first I thought I had blown my speakers, but it was such that I couldn't tell if I was just imagining it or if they were actually blown. Some of the beats and bass were kind of fuzzy and subdued. I had resigned myself to the fact that my speakers were blown and went on with my life, figuring I would get it checked out sometime. Then, last night I tried to listen to some music with my headphones (nice sennheisers) and it was clear that the bass was blown. At first I thought I had also blown my headphones, but then realized that it was probably my sound card (I don't know too much about sound cards).
I tested my headphones using my roommate's laptop, listening to the same songs and switching my headphones between computers, and it became clear that my headphones were working just fine and could handle deep bass and beats as normal. So: I'm pretty sure this means that the problem lies in my soundcard, leaving me with a couple questions:
1) How expensive of a fix is this going to be?
2) would a faulty or damaged soundcard be covered under apple's limited one year warranty?
I don't have a screenshot, but i noticed that iTunes-Helper is running in 64-bit mode. Does this possibly indicate that future iTunes versions will be 64-bit?

I'm doing a fresh install of Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro. This will include a bunch of my major software.
I'm planning to make a disk image of the computer once I'm done so I don't have to reinstall everything when i want to do a big cleanup again.
Could I use this image on my intel iMac? or is the OS installation customized to that computer (different hardware etc), rendering it useless on another computer?
I am a new mac user. I am trying to figure out how to enlarge the screen image so it fills the entire screen.I am aware that I can hold control and scroll with the mouse but that moves the toolbar out of view.I also have found a way(unintentionally) that it minimizes to the lower left side of the screen and when I enlarge it it stays on the left side of the screen.

I just tried to register my AppleCare (which I bought from the Apple Store the same day I bought my MacBook) and when I click "submit" I get a message telling me the product I'm trying to use is unavailable in my location (which I know for a fact isn't the case - I live in NC, not on Mars). Has anyone else ever seen this happen? I printed the screen to a PDF so when I go to the Apple Store tomorrow they don't think I'm nuts. I know there's no problem with what I bought, and I know I'll get it taken care of in the morning, but it's a bit annoying and I was curious to see if others had had this happen. Also - hope I posted this in the right thread, or at least something close to correct.

I've gotten into a bad habit of saving everything to the to the desktop for easy access and now I'm having screenshot overload !
i) when taking a screenshot is it possible to override the auto naming function i.e. open the shot to then save as? or
ii) is it possible to take a screenshot and auto-save it into a specific folder, rather than the desktop, even a single desktop folder would help me?
The desktop is a total mess and I've a 50 or so screenshots mixed in with everything else - each screenshot just seems to look for the next available space on the desktop !!!
