I am a new mac user. I am trying to figure out how to enlarge the screen image so it fills the entire screen.I am aware that I can hold control and scroll with the mouse but that moves the toolbar out of view.I also have found a way(unintentionally) that it minimizes to the lower left side of the screen and when I enlarge it it stays on the left side of the screen.
screen resolution of the MBP 13" is too small to do video/image editing with tools like the iLife suite, Final Cut Express, Photoshop..? And for using developers' tools like XCode? I would use it in my freetime and not for work.. It would be my first MBP and I'm using a 15" laptop with 1680x1050 resolution, so I would loose a lot of pixels, but I don't want to spend so much on a 15"/17" MBP since I do not think they've yet entered the next level Steve Jobs was talking about.. So I would buy a 13" just because I'd really like to jump in the Mac world , and maybe I'll sell it next year when (I hope) there will be much more innovation (maybe new design
When I opened safari my homepage was apple and it opened using the middle of the display with the desktop screensaver visable on both sides of the page now it opens adn takes up the whole screen I don't know how to resize it and save it where it will open to the same all the time. I'm a very new owner of an IMAC and to apple so I'm completely in the dark to mac systems and just stumbling around. I'm a 70 year old guy that's ben drug into the 21 century and trying to keep up (not very good )
I saw this during an screencast, looks like it has the ability to select a screen portion and make it bigger. It may be important to say that the video was from 2006, so maybe the icon changed?
The windows are larger than the screen. I don't know why this happened.I can get to the top, bottom, or side by placing the mouse there. how to adjust (sys pref display doesn't do it)
(I'm not sure if this is the correct Forum page, if not then I apologise - I'm new to MacRumors today)
I have a new 27" desktop Mac with the latest software.
I'm trying to send a photo by email without any loss of image size or resolution.
I've tried three ways of doing this:-
- from within the IPHOTO page and clicking on email at bottom - from within an email in MAIL and clicking on 'Attach' paperclip - by dragging a photo from IPHOTOS into the mail message
No matter what I do the 2.0 MB photo is automatically reduced to 23 KB even though I click on 'Actual Size (Full Quality)'
I am working on a photobook for a family wedding. One photo shows the groom in full and wanted to place this photo in the book. There it did not seem to feet, legs/feet were cut off, the photo does not show in full. How do I adjust or resize this image and with the right dimensions (not losing pixels, etc)?
I got the idea to scan in business cards and use it as the image in address book but after it is in there the image is too small to read. Is there a way to change the image size?
I have a MacBook Air that i hdmi-connected to Samsung tv but the image on the tv is not sized correctly, meaning the image frame on the screen is smaller that the full sized tv screen. It's not evenly shrunk around the screen. It's about 2 inches on the left and 3 inches on the right, and 1 inch from top and bottom.
Info: MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7), Thunderbolt-2-HDMI
I have a newly refurbished emac running the latest OSX 10.9.3. I used to be able to move images from iPhoto to the desktop and using Preview change the file size. I need to do this to upload images of a specific size to a website. Now Preview will not save the adjusted image size. I adjust the size from a 5 meg image to a 1.5 meg image but when I go to upload the image it is still 5 meg. I try saving it before closing it but it doesn't do anything (by the way I hate the new options or lack thereof when it comes to saving in Preview)
I've deleted 6 backups already and am left with three but the size of the file hasn't changed at all. I don't want to delete the whole thing and start over.
The file size now is 330gb which is ridiculous to me that it hasn't changed one bit since i deleted 6 backups.
I just purchased a 24" dell monitor to use with my macbook Pro. My Mac does not give me the option of selecting the screen resolution that the Dell monitor says it has (1920x1080). It only allows for 1600x900 at max. This has the effect of the screen not stretching to the full size of the screen.
I have a Quad Core Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I've been having this issue for the past couple of weeks. Basically I have my monitor set to turn off after after 15 minutes of inactivity, my Mac Pro is always on. After 5 minutes of inactivity my screensaver comes on and stays on until my monitor turns off. When I move my mouse to wake my monitor, sometimes an image from the screensaver appears onscreen for a few seconds and then disappears when my desktop appears.
I have repaired Permissions, rebuilt my drive using Disk Warrior, installed the 10.6.4 Combo update but the issue remains. An image from the screensaver doesn't always appear when I turn on my monitor, this issue is sort of random. Usually my desktop appears right away with no static image from the screensaver.
I'm must be hitting some strange key combination / trackpad gesture (I just got a macbook pro) and my font size in safari keeps randomly increasing. This happens on the desktop with the icons as well.
im having issues fitting the screen of my mac desktop to my t.v.. I am using a a panasonic 32 tv. with the dvi to hdmi. the problem that i am having is that eveything is to big and i cant see the top of the screen. i tried doing everything i can think of from switching the format of the t.v. to messing with the settings on the mac to the setting of the tv. i know one way is buying the dvi to vga. but is there a setting i can do...
I am currently using my macbook pro with my lcd tv which is positioned a few metres away.
In firefox it is no problem as cmd + will enlarge everything. But when navigating around with the finder, the text is way to small. Is there a quick way to fix this without changing my system preferences permanently?
I have several thumbnails i NEED the information on asap, and they are too small to read. when i magnify them its all blurry. Is there anyway to enlarge the whole thing so i can read the writing on them.
I searched for one hour on google, but couldn't find the answer nowhere: how can I enlarge the preview in Spotlight? You see, I'm on a cinema display. The preview of a doc Spotlight gives me is only about 5% of my screen surface, which is way too small to be readable. I would be extremely thankful to the person giving the right answer on how to make the preview in spotlight bigger.

just wondering how I would go about capturing a screen image to be used on a forum. So I would like to capture a still image from a video in order to use it as my signature block in a group forum.Someone suggested I push the "Print Screen" button when I find the image I want. But of course Macs do not have a print screen button (at least not on my keyboard anyway).
Since switching to Lion, the screen image on our iMac has become VERY unstable. It frequently flickers to the right and even moves completely to the right and disappears. It also zooms in unexpectedly and cannot be restored to normal view without backing up a screen. Another annoying feature is that while the screen flickers and twitches, one cannot access hot fields to enter data or select pull down menus. Â
My white 17" intel imac screen is about 60% covered with the vertical line problem, ive tried openeing it and blowing air through it, in hopes it was just some crazy dust accumulation, and smc fan control, but its getting worse by the week. i have a g5 imac 17" with a perfect screen, but a dead HD so i dont use it,can i get my G5 screen taken out and put into my intel? id think it would be possible since their the same same size screen for the same type of imac unless the the inner connections, placement etc. is different between the two.
