Just been playing with Chrome 6.0 on this i5 imac and wow its blazing fast.I know the people at googs work on macs & i know their kinda the enemy, still Good work guys.How are you finding Chrome 6.0?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed that all the flash videos played inside Safari on my MBP were slow and choppy when switching to full screen mode. This started happening after upgrading to Flash 10.1 r85. I disabled hardware acceleration on Flash's settings, and video playback went back to normal.
What can I do to use hardware accelerated Flash, but without the slowdowns?
The hard drive on my iMac is filling to capacity at an extremely accelerated rate. In order to have functionality, I had to delete some unnecessary files and used WhatSize to try and determine the culprit. When backing up my hard drive yesterday, Mail was showing to be 91G. The hard drive filled up again a few minutes later so I copied iTunes to an external drive for safe keeping freeing up 85G.
By this morning that was gone as well so I copied contents of Pictures over to external hard drive freeing up 189G. Mail is now up to 244G on my 500G hard drive. I rebooted at that point to see if that would stop the growth and it has currently, but it may start again. WhatSize says there are no duplicates. I am receiving and sending the same amount of mail that I usually do on a daily basis, so that is not the problem.

I'm a bit of Mac newbie and have just purchased an iMac which I love so far.
I'm currently getting to grips with it but just wondered what people thought of Safari as a web browser and if there was better to use?
I'm used to, and like, Google Chrome from my Windows days and just wondered if it was wise to install this with Safari already on?
Has anyone had any experience of using Chrome on Mac OS X for iMac?

View 1 Replies View Relatedhere's the issue, when i open a new tab and go to a website, i then wait for it to load, while it does load, i go onto the other tabs, but then when i go back to the tab that was loading, i get this message/error saying that the website cannot be found etc. as if there is no internet connection. i then click on refresh and it loads up the page just fine. this only happens when i go onto the other websites and don't wait for the new tab to load. why does this happen? it is very frustrating. i already reseted safari numerous times and im still having the same issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with Browsers. I rotate between Safari, Aurora, and Chrome. But all three of them eventually choke of resources and hog the cpu. Sometimes quitting the broswer works but most of the time, I reboot of OS X is needed to clean up the resource logjam.My practice of using a lot of windows and tabs is at least part of it. But if varys on different days.  Thist week began a new bothersome and worrisome behavior that has malware fingerprints. Sometimes when I click on a link on a window that is "normal" size (say 60% height and 60% width of screen), a full screen pops up over everything and something I didn't ask for shows up. There are several cases of what shows up.Â
1. Some times it is a window that advises me to clean up my Mac offering a tool to do that (I've seen this offer all the time but I cannot recall which one it is but it is very common--I think the thing that was offered was Mac Keeper about which I have heard bad things so I avoid it. It appears to have a foot hold on my system). clock the red close button on the window (or Cmd-W) and it disappears and the window it came from reappears and is functional. I can no click the same link I had used before and now it works. Sometimes,but not always, later windows as I navigate do the same thing.Â
2. Today, when I went to URL.../support and clicked on discussions, a full scren window popped up with the URL.....or some other thing - I've only captured the two URLs. If I close that popped up window

I use Safari as a browser. I once downloaded google Chrome but have since deleted it from my applications. In spite of deleting it, every time I open Safari, it downloads Chrome again, slowing Safari performance.Â

Facebook is not loading in Safari, neither in Chrome. 2 days now. Tried resetting Safari, restarting Mac. facebook works fine on my iPhone 5. It was working fine then I logged out of my account. Ok so I was my online textbook on my Mac and then when I exited Chrome I noticed some weird difference in my background so I looked closely and I saw translucent letters on it. I changed the background to a solid color so the letters are more visible, but how do I stop these letters. (I already tried restarting, shutting down, unplugging, but the problem continues to appear whenever I log in.

I've noticed recently some odd behavior regarding google chrome and my download stacks in the dock. I have my download stacks folder set so that the most current downloaded object shows up as a preview (ex. if its a pdf a photo of the pdf appears).
However recently I've noticed that when i download some .rar files or mp3's, the preview in the stacks icon is just a blank text document. its not until i click the stack and it fans out that i see that a preview of my downloaded file (ex. mp3 will show its album art).
when i click the stack again and the items fan back into the stack, the preview once again turns back into a blank document image instead of the corresponding mp3 image.
So we OS X users haven't been able to get our hands on Google Chrome, yet, but apparently there's this new browser set to fill that void called "Stainless."
I've tried it out and it seems pretty good, but I'm interested in seeing its benchmarks in comparison to Chrome. I'm lovin' the GUI of Stainless!

One day last week it just wouldn't load anymore. i can click it and it will appear in my taskbar like its running, but no go on the UI. I've "googled it".... the problem that is... wow googling a problem with google. What are we coming to? Anyway, I've seen some stuff about it not running on Windows XP, but nothing about MAC.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy (relatively) new Macbook Pro has developed some sort of bug, and I'll do my best to explain. The cursor acts as if the left-click button is being held down, i.e. it highlights or drags a selected object. The only way to stop highlighting is to click another part of the desktop, but then it starts highlighting from that point. The only way to get out of this mode is to restart the computer (I've had to do that 3 times today). I've been assuming that it was a bug in Google Chrome since it was always open when the bug started, but this last time Chrome wasn't open.

Whats your take? Which one should I use, and which one do you use? and why?
I've been using Google Chrome for ages and never really had a problem with it until lately, I prefer it to Safari or Firefox etc.
Lately I've found that it's crashing frequently, sometimes webpages just won't load (it will load the title bar and just leave an empty white space on the actual content), and more and more frequently I'm getting the flash plugin crash message come up on it.
I have the latest version of Chrome, and have re-downloaded it and installed it again, repaired permissions etc, but nothing seems to help.
Anyone else come across this or know of a possible resolution?
