I noticed that all the flash videos played inside Safari on my MBP were slow and choppy when switching to full screen mode. This started happening after upgrading to Flash 10.1 r85. I disabled hardware acceleration on Flash's settings, and video playback went back to normal.
What can I do to use hardware accelerated Flash, but without the slowdowns?
Ive recon that when having your MBP's GT330M turned on, you can't play YouTube-videos in full-screen, my screen just turns white, and nothing happens.. Then you have to ESC yourself outta there..
The funny thing is that if you use the Intel HD Graphics processor, it works fine, but it gets very laggy if you have 720p res..
Is there anyone else having this problem?
I currently have my MacBook hooked up to a second 20" display. My problem is that I want to play fullscreen Flash video, eg. from BBC iPlayer or direct from the BBC site, on one monitor and not have it affect what goes on on the second monitor.
Each time I open a Flash video on my MacBook monitor in fullscreen, if I then click anywhere on my second monitor, the video always falls out of fullscreen mode back into windows mode. Is there a way round this? I'd like to watch this content fullscreen but do other tasks on my other primary monitor.
Just noticed that when I'm lying on the bed with my MBA on my legs, watching so [URL]videos....it starts skipping in about 10-15 minutes.
I don't see core shutdowns.....but actually the video/audio is going to desync and starts skipping....is this normal? Do I have to get a MB/MBP just to watch Hulu and flash videos?
I think this may be related to the temperature, but usually it's not that hot.
Now GPU accelerated flash is here, do you think that ClickToFlash will still be necessary to get decent battery life when browsing? Or should the battery life be much improved with the new Flash install?

On my Old HP laptop, the quality was far better. Is there an issue with playing DVD's, or does it have to do with the screen resolution of the MBP (1440x900)? As far as still pictures go, the screen looks great! Its just video that doesn't look the best...

I have Macpro 8 core, 2.8ghz/ati2600xt/6gb ram/640gb and when I play a MKV movie files in full screen (2560*1600 ON 30 " Monitor) I see movie in frames. I try on vista x64 ultimate - VLC, mediaplayer clasic - frames. OSX - VLC, QuickTime, frames. When I see the movie only in window. All is Ok.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI noticed that after upgrading to Lion quicktime player won't play movies full screen on my second display. Under Snow Leopard if the quicktime window was on the second display and you hit full screen it would fill the display is was on. Now the video slides to the main display and then goes full screen. There doesn't seem to be any way to change that behavior. There are no preferences.
The only work around is to move the menu bar in the display preferences to the second menu, so that the second monitor becomes the main one.

The weird thing is, before, when watching streaming videos from the internet, the screen stayed at the same brightness, regardless of whether there was any mouse movement, or touching the keyboard, or anything. Now, if I don't do anything, the computer dims the screen, as if i wasn't watching a video.

I put in -R disk, clicked on the DVD icon when it appeared on the computer screen, pasted in the video file I wanted to burn and it seemed to burn it but when I had finished, I put the DVD into my DVD player connected to television and when I clicked 'play' nothing played, there was just a grey screen.

I'm trying to watch a video streamed on google chrome on my second display, which is a Samsung TV connected by HDMI to my macbook pro.
However, I can't use my laptop when doing this, if I press full screen on the video no a separate window on the TV then click back onto my macbook screen the video exits full screen.

Since day one, whenever I tried opening a fullscreen window whether it be Vimeo or Youtube, there is a pause of hesitation where the screen turns blank white for a second or 2 before playing the video. It's sort of annoying but is it just my computer is it like that for every mbp? #2 Whenever I try clicking on anything whether it be the maxmize, minimize, close button or dragging items around with the trackpad held down, 3 out of 5 times, it'll not respond. It was the case with my logitech optical mouse and when i'm using the track pad sometimes. Sorry for the terribly crappy video, but the part towards the end where i'm showing myself clicking is when i'm trying to close the window and its not responding to my click. I have the graphics switcher/indicator program installed and whenever I go to full screen it goes from intel to nvidia and there is a good 1-2 second delay from clicking the button to going to full screen. If I force 330m to be on at all times the lag goes away. This seem normal? You would think Apple would have ironed out this kink. It makes my computer go from feeling snappy to slow when my netbook can full screen faster.

Ever since I upgraded to flash player "square" I am unable to view flash videos through safari in full screen. When I press the button to initiate full screen my screen turns black and I need to press the esc key to get back to the desktop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust purchased a MacBook Pro Retina, refurbished (because why not - the same product for a cheaper price) around a month ago. It's the 13 inch and is the model before the most recent one came out (4GB of RAM instead of 8GB - late 2013). From the very first day, playing a full-screen video on any site (be it YouTube, Facebook, etc) just makes the fan much louder than usual (so loud that you can almost hear it more over the video itself). Thought it may have been just a thing with Flash Player being buggy, but the problem has persisted for a while now. I'm not even pushing the CPU to any limits - literally playing a full-screen video on Facebook (not even in HD) makes the fan go crazy.
Just last night I tried installing Borderlands 2 and it was the same thing - FPS rate was fine, no lag, just the fan was so loud that I actually got scared for my computer and turned it off. After closing the app and checking out the fan temperature, it was at 91c.
Never happens when browsing/surfing or doing my usual work.
Should I go give it back to Apple? The thing is I start university in less than a week (and hence will be traveling), so not sure if I can afford to give my laptop in to them for a long period of time (I know it should be free though since mine is a refurb item). May it just be an issue that is quickly repairable or is this worse?

As the headline says the right half of the screen turns black when watching video content in iTunes on full screen. I can see the whole picture when moving the mouse a little but as soon as the navigation bar disappears the right half of the picture disappears too. It does not matter what source it is. Both podcasts and movies work (or do not work) the same.
The problem doesn't occur for other player (VLC, XBMC etc.).
I have the latest OS (10.9.4) and iTunes (11.4). The computer is MBP 13-inch retina, late 2012 if it matters.

Let me start by saying it was really early this morning when I tried, but I couldn't find the "full screen" setting for video. I know you can hit the expansion arrows and that works, but the actual VIDEO didn't get any bigger. In 9.0.3 I'd hit the arrows and the video would fill the screen. Today on 9.1 the video stayed the same size and the black boarder filled the screen.

When I try to stream video from YouTube at fullscreen on my 22" display it will play fine for about 10-15 seconds but will then lock up. If I do command option esc. for a Force quit, the video kicks back out of fullscreen to a regular web browser, and immediately continues from where it locked up just fine. This happens in both FF and Safari. Reboot does not solve the issue.

I've tried several different podcast, starting with the smaller video window, then trying to expand using the opposing diagonal arrows symbol in the bottom right corner. The result has been the same. As soon as I click on that the window screen goes black, and iTunes shuts down. I'm on a MacBook Pro 4,1 using OS 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.6 (40). i have a brand new imac and i am having some problems on a few web sites, not all websites. when i try to make the video full screen it doesn't work. for example, if i go to www.theahl.com i can't make the game highlight clips play on full screen. but if I go to www.whl.ca, i don't have a problem. They both go full screen on my husband's pc.
i made sure adobe flash player was updated..
So this problem started yesterday where whenever I try to play a video (youtube,or any other site) neither the sound nor image works, but whenever i make the video fullscreen, everything works perfectly. It's a bit annoying if I want to watch a video or listen to music off youtube whilst doing other things.

I've looked around and apparently everyone's saying their macbook air runs really cool. The problem is, mines always warm... It usually doesn't get hot unless I'm watching a full screen video, but it's always warm. Is this normal? mention I have the 13 inch base model.
