Jul 6, 2010I get this ad every time I load the page. I figured it was a cookie problem so I searched my cookies for 'Google' and deleted all the results. I'm still getting it. It's not happening in Firefox, only Safari. It's been there since Friday or Saturday. Am I the only one?

Oct 2, 2010I just installed Parallels 6 and virtualised a brand new Win 7 OS. I then installed some basic sw (e.g. antivirus, firewall, Chrome etc) and am ready to test Win 7 and Chrome. First comment: browsing in Chrome, even if it's virtualised, is faster (!) and snappier, than Safari 5 on my i5 MBP. How on earth can that be. Scrolling up and down a page, of course, is smoother on the MBP, in fact scrolling in the virtualised environment is choppy, but everything else (e.g. downloading, accessing pages etc) is definitely faster in the virtualised Chrome. The MBP is the base i5. Safari is 5.0.2. Chrome is the latest as of today.

Apr 7, 2012I recently bought a 13" MacBook Pro and I've been using Safari as my default browser. Before I got my Macbook and used a Windows 7 laptop, Google Chrome was my default browser. I still wanna use it as my default browser but not sure if it's as good for the Macbook as it is for Windows. I know both are fast browsers but which is the best one for the Macbook? Should I stick with Safari or should I switch to Google Chrome?

Apr 11, 2010I've tried both of these browsers and I like Chrome more in almost every aspect except one. Because of this aspect, I continue to use Safari.
I don't know if this is the official name of the feature but it seems logical to me. Autocomplete or autofill.
Basically, when I am typing a URL in Safari, if the URL is in my bookmarks or history it will complete the rest of the address for me and all I have to do is hit enter.
For example, I have [URL] in my favorites. I type "fa" and safari fills in the rest, I just hit enter and I'm there.

Apr 5, 2012Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

OS X :: Google Chrome Stacks - How To Fix It
Nov 2, 2010I've noticed recently some odd behavior regarding google chrome and my download stacks in the dock. I have my download stacks folder set so that the most current downloaded object shows up as a preview (ex. if its a pdf a photo of the pdf appears).
However recently I've noticed that when i download some .rar files or mp3's, the preview in the stacks icon is just a blank text document. its not until i click the stack and it fans out that i see that a preview of my downloaded file (ex. mp3 will show its album art).
when i click the stack again and the items fan back into the stack, the preview once again turns back into a blank document image instead of the corresponding mp3 image.

One day last week it just wouldn't load anymore. i can click it and it will appear in my taskbar like its running, but no go on the UI. Jan 12, 2011I've been using Google Chrome for ages and never really had a problem with it until lately, I prefer it to Safari or Firefox etc.
Lately I've found that it's crashing frequently, sometimes webpages just won't load (it will load the title bar and just leave an empty white space on the actual content), and more and more frequently I'm getting the flash plugin crash message come up on it.
I have the latest version of Chrome, and have re-downloaded it and installed it again, repaired permissions etc, but nothing seems to help.
Anyone else come across this or know of a possible resolution?
