May 17, 2009Which speakers are better, the ones that come built-in on the '09 24" iMac or Logitech X230? I'm not sure what the iMac's speaker stats are, but here are the stats for x230's:

Reason I ask is that I have the x230's and they're considered as cheap speakers, so I don't know if I should use them with the iMac or not. The one advantage I see them having over the iMac's is that they have a 20w subwoofer, but I don't know if the satellites are better or not.
IMac :: Actual Size Of The 27'' Stand?
Oct 21, 2009I mean when it is upright on a desk, not just length measurements for the screen. I am afraid that the 27'' might have put my current desk out of commission
..or at least the shelf on top that stabilizes it.
IMac :: Removing 27" Stand?
Dec 13, 2009Are there instructions anywhere as to how to remove the 27" iMac from the stand holding it up? I want to transport it without the stand attached and reattach it. Do I need any special tools? Can't find anything via google or other forums on exactly how to do this. It can't be too hard being that the Vesa mount is suppose to be easy to put on.

Aug 24, 2010I just received my new IMac and was starting to do some typing for a school project when I noticed that the keyboard bottom stand was uneven so whenever I type it bounces much like a chair with uneven legs. Jul 12, 2010Purchased a brand new 27" i7 imac a few weeks ago, display is awesome!!! I was using my old 28" LCD monitor from my PC and running dual displays on the iMac. The 28" LCD monitor annoyed me a bit because i could not get the same color/crispness/brightness that i got from the iMac. ( also it has a Matt screen and i am more into the glossy screens ) So i found a used 24" cinema display locally. Paid 600.00 and it came with 2 yrs of AppleCare. It is only 7 months old ( still have 5 months under orignal warranty ) Got home, hooked it up and it had a "hint" of yellowness to it, It wasn't a exact image of my iMacs display...I tried to calibrate it also, but it still had just a HINT of yellowness....Nothing at all major, but enough for me to be annoyed with it.

Mar 20, 2010I have a few pictures I took with my digital camera and I want to print them and put them in a frame that is 11.5cm * 7.7cm. So, I need to adjust their size to print them that size.
I don't have a colour printer, so I'm printing off a library computer in colour, so I can't print them directly off my mac. I'm going to need to transfer them on a usb and open them in windows on a library computer. The pictures are in .JPG format since I uploaded them.
-So I went to Preview (program) and Tools > Adjust size.
-I typed in 7.7cm for width and it gave me a locked length of 11.1cm as that would probably keep the pictures proportionate. I'm alright with that.
But then, when I look at my picture, it's much smaller that the actual dimensions of 7.7cm. Then when I zoom in, it is pixelated. That'd odd because I'm actually reducing the dimensions of my picture.
How do I adjust their size so they print to 11.1 cm 7.7 cm?

I've noticed that when changing the size of my partitions with Disk Utility, the size of the partition actually ends up being .12GB smaller than what I set it to be. So if I type 300.00 in, the partition ends up being 299.88. If I type 300.12 in, it ends up being 299.88. If I type 300.13 in, it ends up being 300.01. If I type 360.12 in, it ends up showing 360.00 in Disk Utility, but on the desktop when I have show item info turned on it says 359.99GB.
