ICloud On Mac :: For Security Reasons - Needed To Reset Password
Sep 2, 2014
When I tried to log into iCloud I got a message that for security reasons I needed to reset may pass word. I have tried to do that 3 different times. Each time I get this email:The password for your Apple ID has been successfully reset. If you didn’t make this change or if you believe an unauthorized person has accessed your account, go to iforgot.apple.com to reset your password immediately. Then sign in to My Apple ID to review and update your security settings.
However, when I try to login to iCloud I keep getting the same message that the password has been disabled. I can not figure what is going on as I was able to login to this forum with the new password.
I set yo iCloud Keychain without problems but did not set up a security code. Later,I disabled iCloud Keychain but now want to enable it again. My contact phone is a landline without SMS capability. How can I recover and start over from scratch?
I am getting that message. I reset my password and still get the message. It will let me into my account and let me change my settings but whenever I try to buy a song i get that message. I emailed them but wont get a response till at least tomorrow.
ITunes keeps giving me the message "account disabled for security reasons". Each time I have to verify the account - any idea why this keeps happening - even changed my password but it still happens - I am the only one using this account - it is happening most with app updates -
I have been trying to download Cloud 1.I put my Apple ID and Password in.It didn't take.I changed my password and it still didn't take. Also, when I tried to download mobile me, it wanted my 'member name and ID'.Is that separate? All I want to do, actually , is sink my contacts in Yahoo to gmail on safari.I was able to do that on Mail in Mac, but not on Safari.
I have created a number of Apple i/d's that now seem make my records confused. I'm often forced to reset passwords; like today: I tried to log in to use my icloud email address and had to reset the password - again even though I had used for my apple ID minutes before!!. This repeating problem has become a real headache and I want to kill off the old unused apple i/ds and start afresh so i can link my information etc over all my hardware. can this be achieved if I present all my prior information for deletion?

My daughter has a MacBook with OS X 10.4.11. Due to its age & configuration, the OS X can't be updated any further.
Her MacBook is networked through my iMac (OS X 10.6.4) and is setup to print via my printer.
The connection to the printer stopped working, I tried to troubleshoot it, but needed the admin password. She didn't know if she had one so I used the installation disk to change eliminate the need for one. But for some things I'm asked for the keychain password, she doesn't remember if she has one.
According to the keychain help, the keychain password should automatically be the same as the admin or login password. There isn't a login password anymore, and keychain isn't accepting a blank password,so I'm locked out of some functions requiring the keychain.
I created a new keychain, but when online, I get a lot of unverified certificate errors. I try to change them individually to accept them, but I'm asked for the keychain password. If I can access the old keychain, is there a way to copy all of its certificates to the new keychain?
I can't figure out how to change the keychain password for the old keychain as without it, I can't accept certificates even with the new keychain. I'm really stuck.
My iBook died a while back and i fitted a new motherboard but the hard drive was faulty so i put in another hd and the ibook works fine. Except that i cant install Mac for word as i have not got the user password. This is not the master password. How do i get around this? I have another mac with wordmac can i copy that onto a disc from applications and load it?
I have a Intel based IMac OS X 10.6.8. Every time I move a file, rename a file, delete a file, basically everything I do I have to authenticate with my password.
How can I unlock my documents, and the all functioning process of my mac OS 10.9.3. In fact, each time I need to change a file to another location, or if I need to change it's name, I need to insert the password . The message "Finder wants to make changes. Type your password..." appears envy time.

I am trying to reset security question and answer for my Apple Account. I can authenticate with my own appId/password but I am stuck with resetting my security question/answer. I forgot my original security question/answer. How do I reset them?
I am trying to run Cache Out. The program asks for the system password. I type in my usual password that I use for installing programs, or trashing stuff from the system folder... It won't allow me to run the program, saying the password is wrong.
If I were to run the disk utility that asks for the CDs that come with the MBP, what will that do? It is a software utility of sorts. Can I just re-install the basic system files for the OS, or perhaps even just download or copy over from another computer the "Preferences" file? This seems too simplistic, but I am an ex-Windows user. Don't want to format and re-install or anything of that nature if possible.
I am having trouble remembering th initial password I set up for my mac when I first bought it. I am having difficulty downloading programs because I cannot remember my key chain password (login password).ow to reset it?
My mother recently passed away and I've inherited her Mac Pro. She was the official "administrator" and no one knows her password. Is there any way to reset the password without knowing the original password? Or, is there a way to reset the whole laptop to factory settings? I'm not concerned about losing content from the laptop.
After we set up a security password on our router, my G4, OSX 10.4.11 will no longer connect to my network/internet. I keep getting the error message There was an error joining the Airport network "XXXXXX". My MacBook and all our other pc laptops connect with no problem. I don't have an Ethernet card working. The card went out and I would have had to replace the whole Motherboard, so we had an airport installed. It's worked great for 4 years now.
I've read a lot about Keychain but I must be missing something. I want to be able to secure Keychain itself whereby if someone where to get to my Mac while I got up for a second, they wouldn't be able to open Keychain at all without a password. I don't want them to be able to gain access to the program at all without a password. Is that possible?
I'm not too cool with the idea of having my Mailbox accessible by whoever from my desktop. How can I secure it? Is there a way to enter a password after clicking on the mail icon at the bottom?
how to enable Web Sharing, but I want to make it so that only certain people can access the shared directory. How can I make it so that users can get a password prompt and then see ALL files in my Users>myname>Sites folder? I see several complicated methods on the web on how to enable a password prompt for users coming to look at a file, but is there somewhere a simpler way to make this password-protected? BTW, I started the process, and was able to open httpd.conf using terminal, but, after I changed AllowOverride None to AllowOverride All, I was not able to save the file, even though I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, which supposedly allows changes to httpd.conf.

Is it a good idea to set Firmware password for more security for iMac Mid 2011? What's the benefits and disadvantages? Can i reset or remove The password if i want?
Im trying to change apps that control my computer but I can no longer get access to privacy settings in "security & privacy." I couldnt remember my old appleID password so just changed which means I cant update the login password in the general settings either.
I configured my MacBook Air to request a password after the screen turns on in "Security And Privacy". But then I realised that can change this option without unlocking the padlock. Here is a screen picture. I think is a very important security problem.
