ITunes :: Account ID Disabled For Security Reasons?
Mar 11, 2012
I am getting that message. I reset my password and still get the message. It will let me into my account and let me change my settings but whenever I try to buy a song i get that message. I emailed them but wont get a response till at least tomorrow.
ITunes keeps giving me the message "account disabled for security reasons". Each time I have to verify the account - any idea why this keeps happening - even changed my password but it still happens - I am the only one using this account - it is happening most with app updates -
When I tried to log into iCloud I got a message that for security reasons I needed to reset may pass word. I have tried to do that 3 different times. Each time I get this email:The password for your Apple ID has been successfully reset. If you didn’t make this change or if you believe an unauthorized person has accessed your account, go to iforgot.apple.com to reset your password immediately. Then sign in to My Apple ID to review and update your security settings.
However, when I try to login to iCloud I keep getting the same message that the password has been disabled. I can not figure what is going on as I was able to login to this forum with the new password.
About 2 weeks ago, I was contacted by Discover that my account had apparently been breached. Someone had charged over $100.00 worth of stuff to iTunes.
I went into itunes, changed my password, changed to Mastercard, and was able to purchase things for a couple of days. Now I get the message that my id has been disabled.
I use some of my apps in my work, and I can't update them. I can't buy music. I can't do ANYTHING. I am disabled and try to do some work from home. I need these apps working.
I thought that someone had hacked my itunes account and bought a few apps so I told Apple and they disabled my account. I just found out that it was my Mom who bought the apps in the first place without telling me! How do I get my account to work again?
I'm trying to make an iTunes Store account with my mother's MasterCard. Everything in the setup process goes well until I hit the part when I must enter in my three-digit security code. I do so, then proceed. iTunes won't proceed because it appears I have not entered a valid security code. But the problem is, it is in fact valid: I've used it before for other things and it works fine. I've triple-checked; it's kinda hard to incorrectly type a three-digit number.
I am considering having a roommate move in and letting them use my Mac. If I create them a guest account can I ensure that my e-mail and files will be secure by having this second account, or is there another way to accomplish this?
I woke up and tried to update my iphone and my ipad and both are telling me this. I then went to iforgot and reset my password and it still is saying the same thing. Is there a step I forgot? I have no idea what triggered this.
I was testing the pwpolicy on a newly upgraded Yosemite. After rebooting, I found my local admin account was disabled.
I ran the pwpolicy on a non-server version of Yosemite and the only support article I could find is OS X Server (Yosemite): Global policies can lock out Admin accounts - Apple Support. I tried to follow the steps in the article to clear the account policies for local admin, but once I entered "/usr/bin/pwpolicy -n /Local/Default clearaccountpolicies", the system seemed hanging there and the local admin account was still disable.
Actually once I used launchctl to load the com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist, the system started to show signs not working properly, such as some basic commands like ps, dscl, man, nano, or even ls stopping to bring up any results. However, "launchctl list" showed the daemon was launched with a number of 78.
I tried to create new admin user account by rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone, but the new admin account was disabled possibly immediately after birth because of the global policy settings.
I just noticed that on my login screen, "Guest" appears even though it is disabled. I have not tried to run it, but when I do click on it I get the message that the computer will reboot into the "Guest" mode. I stopped at that point. This can't be normal.

I reset my password many times for my apple ID, yet when I go to update my apps in itunes it says my apple ID is disabled. After reseting my password 4 times. Can anyone please tell me why I still can't update my 76 apps that need to be updated
When I try to make a purchase in iTunes, I get a message saying my Apple ID is disabled.Resetting my password does not eliminate this error message.Changing the payment method associated with my Apple ID from "None" to a valid payment method does not eliminate this error message. This problem occurred because someone used my Apple ID to make unauthorized In-App purchases totaling $39.96 USD. Apple support refunded me the amount. But now my Apple ID is disabled. The message does not state the reason for it being disabled. The message does not state that the ID is disabled due to security reasons. It just says that it is disabled.
