Deleting one at a time takes a very long time... and I, for some reason, have hundreds of duplicate groups.
I have very nice, full categories on my iPod touch right now. However, I am getting the iPhone 4S in about a week, and I want to have the same categories on my iPhone as I do on my iPod. I know that I can get all my apps an everything from iCloud. I want to have the same categories on my iPhone as I do on my iPod when I get it so I don't have to spend a lot of time putting the apps in categories again. So I was wondering if iCloud will save my categories too?

Started computer this morning and "Contact Database" is empty. Noticed iCloud box became "Unchecked" on Macbook Pro. Contacts still reside on iPad and iPhone via iCloud. If I check "Contacts" box on Macbook, will contacts be downloaded from iCloud or will MacBook Pro upload an empty database to the iCloud and erase all?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThrough a mistake I deleted all my Contact info from my 2010 i7 iMac (Yosemite) and iCloud.
Because my 2 iPads and 2 iPhones are connected to iCloud all the Contact info is gone, zero.
I have a recent Contact Archive of that info and would like to upload it to my iMac or iCloud.
When I attempt to do this on my iMac using the 'Import' feature the address info shows for a second and disappears.
I have checked Permissions using Disk Utility.
Can I use Time Machine in any way to solve this?
I do have one iPad that has the original Contact info still on it, can that be useful in restoring to iCloud or my iMac?

Ok, I know how to set up contacts and create groups. I also know how to add contacts to group(s). Now is it possible to assign groups to a contact instead? Like Google (Gmail) does, you pull up the contact and tick-off the groups that you want this contact to be in.
Before you ask "but why would you wanna do that." Well, quite simple, I organize my contacts by regions (countries) and many of my contacts are seemingly on the move and all over the maps. With the iCloud, I'd have to create/edit (or in my current situation, import) contacts first and then move into groups by dragging one by one (yes, i know shift-click.)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Every time I send her an email it changes her name from just Mom to Mom and then adds her last name back into the last name field.

I'm wondering if anyone with a unibody Macbook Pro can tell me what temperature categories show up in their iStat Pro dashboard application. I have never gotten ones such as Airport card and am wondering if it's just the application or something to do with my airport card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSimilar to Microsoft Entourage, I would like to create categories (or keywords) in Apple Address Book contacts, such as family, friends, co-workers, so that I can create smart groups that dynamically update as I add or edit new contacts. Is there any way to do this? Right now I manually include keywords in the Notes field, but this is cumbersome, as I have to remember all the keywords I've created.

Every time my co-worker exports a group vCard for me to import into my address book, a note is added (in the notes field) to each vCard which begins "Categories:..." followed by a list of Address Book Groups which that card belonged to on his Mac. How do we STOP address book from appending this note every time he exports a group vCard - it's hard for me to individually delete this text from every card that I import (I do NOT want or need this "Categories" information in the notes of my address book cards). I wish iCloud was an option for us right now, but since I cannot upgrade my computer right now, it is not.
