I have a bunch of contacts in my Apple Contact book but am using Outlook for Mac 2011 for email, contact management, and calendar. I have read that you have to sync your Apple contact book to your exchange account rather than directly to the Outlook for Mac 2011 programs so you don't create duplicates (contacts coming from the Apple address book AND the Exchange server). However, I can't find anything that tells me how to sync the Apple Contacts with my Exchange account. I figure at that point once synced, my exchange account will push the new contacts from the Apple Contact book back into Outlook for Mac 2011 making everything whole.
Started computer this morning and "Contact Database" is empty. Noticed iCloud box became "Unchecked" on Macbook Pro. Contacts still reside on iPad and iPhone via iCloud. If I check "Contacts" box on Macbook, will contacts be downloaded from iCloud or will MacBook Pro upload an empty database to the iCloud and erase all?
Ok, I know how to set up contacts and create groups. I also know how to add contacts to group(s). Now is it possible to assign groups to a contact instead? Like Google (Gmail) does, you pull up the contact and tick-off the groups that you want this contact to be in.
Before you ask "but why would you wanna do that." Well, quite simple, I organize my contacts by regions (countries) and many of my contacts are seemingly on the move and all over the maps. With the iCloud, I'd have to create/edit (or in my current situation, import) contacts first and then move into groups by dragging one by one (yes, i know shift-click.)
Exporting a .vcf file from Outlook, I'm unable to import a single contact into iCloud as it says it is invalid. The file is only 2KB. I only have a few contacts in iCloud.
I have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Every time I send her an email it changes her name from just Mom to Mom and then adds her last name back into the last name field.
I have migrated over to the iCloud and it's not June 30 yet anyway, so I don't understand why I am getting this message. I can access my email at url... You are my "system administrator" in this case..
I have a macbook 10.5.8 and am wondering if it is worth it to upgrade at this point. I think I would need to get snow leopard then lion? I want to get a new computer this summer when the new OS comes out, but still will use this one. I am finding I can't sync to iCloud with this OS. (Or am I doing something wrong?
I have a Macbook, ipad and two iphones. The macbook was always the main computer but now I have bought an iMac and want to use it as the main computer. Both computers are using OS Lion. How do I move everything to the iMac and make it the principal centre?
I migrated from mobleMe to iCloud on my macbook air, using the [url]... ID, and on both iPhones using [url]... ID. The two iPhones sync with each other for apps-purchased, contacts, iCal and Contacts, but the macbook air does not. How do i get the three devices to sync? Apple says both IDs are migrated to the iCloud.
Info:MacBook Air (13-inch Late 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.4), both iPhones are iOS 5.1.1
If I am going to connect my Macbook Pros with my I Phone and I Pad through Cloud how do the contacts sync.My laptop has many email addresses on it and my phone contacts are mostly people I call but not necessarily email. So does one set get erased?
I have an iPhone, iPad, and a Macbook Pro..Notes I create on either iOS device sync with each other. But nothing appears on my Mac. iCloud seems to be working for other apps. Just not notes.
Info: Time Capsule / Time Machine, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I can't get my iPhone 5c to sync with my Macbook Pro. I upgraded to Yosemite and I have the latest upgrade on the phone 8.1.1 and both are connected to iCloud but the problem persists. Don't care about music and photos, but do need my calendar, contacts and notes to sync.
I assume iCloud is not a sync service for storing up to 100GB. So what is a recommended subscription service for Mac users? Perhaps one that would integrate with Time Machine?
I'm contemplating the move to iCloud from MobileMe. I need to be able to sync an older Mac Mini G4 running 10.5.8 too. It can't run Snow Leopard or Lion, so this one issue is holding me back from the iCloud transition - I would have to replace that computer to do so, which seems ridicluous. I'm concious that I need to make a decision before the June shutdown of Mobile Me and need to plan.
