Nov 13, 2008I have a program, Jing, that saves my screen recordings in to .swf (which I think is an adobe flash player) but I can't really watch them unless I am running that program, then I can watch it as a saved file, but I want to use it as a .mov (or maybe a .flv, .m4v, .avi so I can at least convert it with the program i have) in iMovie and such. Is there any way I can convert these, or any software I should get to do so?

ITunes :: Newly Converted Mp3's Won't Play?
Apr 30, 2012All the iTunes songs that I have purchased in the past 6 months and converted to mp3 will not play in my Harley Davidson radio. I have several mp3 CDs that I have created over the last 2 years that work just fine. The latest discs that I have tried to make (at least 6 times) will not play any new songs. The older songs on the disc play but the radio skips through the recently purchased songs that were converted to mp3 in iTunes. Odd as it only affects the recent purchases. Is there something new happening with the latest update of iTunes or the iTunes Store? BTW I have checked the MP3 button when burning, I have tried three different kinds of CD-Rs and all the usual possible troubles.

Dec 9, 2014tried burning a playlist, received error that the songs had to be originally MP3 to burn to a CD disk. Followed instructions on how to convert those songs to MP3, which I did, and when I tried to burn the converted playlist, received that same message.

Dec 31, 2007I am trying to convert AVI to MP4 and I always seem to run into problems. I use MPEG streamclip and sometime i get an error after converting saying that file cannot be played, not a movie file. thought when i play it in AVI format it works fine. Also another problem I have is the sound doesnt work sometime in the MP4 format but it does in the AVI format. Any thoughts on converters that I can buy that possibly work faster?

I have been told that it's already possible to convert the internal drive containing everything to a new housing turning it into an external drive to use with a new pc.... But I don't want to buy another pc... this time the switch is to a Macpro. I'm expecting to run mac apps and run bootcamp or parallels ( or both ). Could I connect the converted pc harddrive (basically it turns into an external pc harddrive) to the macpro and run the applications that are installed on the now external harddrive?

It's not that it has an error when trying to import, it's that it won't even let me import it - the file is unselectable in the file browser for importing. Mar 7, 2012Usually, I convert videos for my iPad or iPhone using Toast and it works fine. Today, I had an mp4 video and I just dropped it into iTunes where it will play there just fine. However, it will not sync to my iPad. So, I went into the iTunes Advanced menu and had iTunes convert it for the iPad. Even that video will not sync to my iPad. I don't get it. I just converted it with Toast and now it will go on my iPad thru iTunes. I don't get why it doesn't work when iTunes converts it.

Apr 27, 2009I cannot find how to edit events in iCal. I should be able to "double click it" and then click Edit. However, no "edit" button appears.
Please note: this is a repeating event - is it not possible to edit them? This is needed for a monthly meeting that occurs at different places, so each individual instance should be editable with particulars for that event. Also, these events were converted from Outlook on Windows.

Jun 4, 2014I have a desperate friend who created about an hour long slide show in iPhoto using "Vintage Prints" theme --it has a black background with photos getting dropped in. There are four segments she wants me to edit together for the whole show for her daughter's graduation party. Is there any way to get rid of that black background and replace it with a solid color background or texture? I have tons of animated textures and backgrounds but I can't figure out how to bring them to the rescue since the .mov is already created...I thought of keying but 'black' isn't the new chromakey blue or green thought of a garbage mask but the shapes of the photos and collages dropping in are not constant..
I didn't see a way in iPhoto to convert that black background to white or color either.

Software :: Word 2011 Files Converted To PDFs Can't Be Merged?
Nov 12, 2010After making PDF versions of Word 2011 files, I found that I couldn't merge them to one file in Acrobat 9.0. Acrobat 9 becomes unresponsive.
This occurs on two different hardware platforms, a MacMini and a MacBook Pro.
Reverting back to Word 2008 eliminates the problem.
Anybody else see this kind of issue with Word 2011 and Acrobat 9?

Oct 16, 2009I can't find a definitive answer to my question anywhere but i suspect the answer is no.With the Wacom Bambo (without the multitouch) can you annotate directly onto pdfs, keynote, pages, numbers / any similar program? My girlfriend bought one last year for her design work and would also like to do this without using the ink window - not really practical.
In the ink preference pane that appears when you plug in the Bamboo there is only an option that allows hand writing to be converted to text. This is not what she is trying to achieve. She wants it to be her handwriting and diagrams on documents without her having to use the ink window and paste her annotations work into the document and then have to position them - this isn't even possible with pdfs.
If this is not possible directly from within Snow Leopard, are there any programs that allow her to do this. She doesn't have Microsoft word and doesn't really want to have to start using that - cost implications.

The conversion process caused all the new files to have today's date but did not change the file names. I am looking for a way to pull the create/modify dates from the original files and apply them to the converted files so the new files will have their original dates. All of the original files had different dates, so I can't just apply a certain date to the converted files.
