i have an .mp4 file, burned a DVD and tried to play it on my commercial DVD on my TV. Doesn't work at all. It works fine if I put the DVD on my MBPro. IS there a system to make it work on my commercial DVD? Sorry for the dumb question but it's my first crack at DVD burning...

When entering the dvd into my mac it shows a file called dvdvolume with a red warning circle in right corner of it. No files are inside the folder. The dvd plays on other dvd players.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll the iTunes songs that I have purchased in the past 6 months and converted to mp3 will not play in my Harley Davidson radio. I have several mp3 CDs that I have created over the last 2 years that work just fine. The latest discs that I have tried to make (at least 6 times) will not play any new songs. The older songs on the disc play but the radio skips through the recently purchased songs that were converted to mp3 in iTunes. Odd as it only affects the recent purchases. Is there something new happening with the latest update of iTunes or the iTunes Store? BTW I have checked the MP3 button when burning, I have tried three different kinds of CD-Rs and all the usual possible troubles.

i have a movie that was on bluray 720p and it was a MKV file so i converted it to AVI so that i could stream to my ps3 from my mac using medialink and when i tried to play the file it wouldn't work from my ps3 but worked from my imac. It had a error code

We have recorded movies from our TIVO to a DVD burner. Once on the hard-drive of the burner we burn them to DVD. Some, actually most will not play on my mac. It seams that the DVD +R never play and the -R sometimes play. The ones that do play open in DVD player, Quick time , and front row. The ones that do not play, do not play in any program. When it appears in the Desk top I click on the disk and it shows the audio files and the video files in separate folders. Also I have noticed that the DVD's that do play have a number appearing under the disk when it shows up on the desk top and the ones that do not play do not.

I have looked at a few Apple tech notes about this topic, but all seem to be of versions much older than that currently available.
Alphabetical orde is not the problem and one suggestion to use a Song command to set tracks in the play order, doesn't work since Song command.
Tried but couldn't find an answer to this exact question. Here's the situation: I created a movie project in iMovie, then burned it to a DVD using iDVD. The burned DVD plays in my iMac but will not play in a DVD player. I get a Cannot play this type of disk error message. I used a DVD-R disk (Memorex). I can provide more information if needed to figure this out, but is there a simple answer as to why this would happen? The DVD player says it plays DVD-R disks. The disk works in my computer. Any ideas from the experts?

It doesn't play!It plays on our sons portable DVD AND on our computers, but NOT the SONY DVD player!? I've wasted 3 DVD+RDL discs and the same thing. I even tried different movies. Same thing. This is driving me nutz! Apparently this DVD player I bought is supposed to play ALL formats. I don't understand what's going on?

Now after my Toshiba crapped out and I switched to a Mac I was wondering why when I put the DVD into the laptop (MacBook Pro Intel processor) why I can only see the name of the dvd and not the contents. I hope someone can help me since I hate having to boot up Windows in Parallels and then play using Windows or drag it to my mac partition since this takes time and I just really hate having to see Windows load on my Mac

When I insert the DVDs I have burned from Toast 9 Titanium into both of my DVD players they display "no disk inserted." The movies play fine on my computer, though. Any tips? Can I change a setting on Toast 9 to make the DVDs able to play on my (somewhat older) DVD players?

First it was facetime.... now, I inserted a dvd-r that I already burned which has video files on them. The good thing, at least Lion recognizes that a cd/dvd is in the drive, the bad thing is that the dvd is already burned yet it keeps saying that I inserted a blank disc... which I did not.

I wish to make a backup copy of my Mad Men DVDs, each about 8GB, but I only have single-sided (4.7GB) DVD+R disks.
Is there a way to copy the DVDs to such smaller DVD+R disks and still keep the menu structure etc so that it plays in set top DVD players?
Or if I can't keep the menu structure, how can I copy individual episodes to disks (CD or DVD) so they play on set top DVD players?
I just wanna know which software be available for read blu-ray commercial disc. I know on PC there is Power DVD but I don't know if it works between cross over. Else, VLC could be great but I'm really not sure. For the info, I'll probably buy the LG internal drive (ggc-h20L). I'm been informed by LG, it can read movie commercial disc. So, I just search a software who read Blu-Ray or convert in another case if it's not possible.

I have a program, Jing, that saves my screen recordings in to .swf (which I think is an adobe flash player) but I can't really watch them unless I am running that program, then I can watch it as a saved file, but I want to use it as a .mov (or maybe a .flv, .m4v, .avi so I can at least convert it with the program i have) in iMovie and such. Is there any way I can convert these, or any software I should get to do so?

I am trying to convert AVI to MP4 and I always seem to run into problems. I use MPEG streamclip and sometime i get an error after converting saying that file cannot be played, not a movie file. thought when i play it in AVI format it works fine. Also another problem I have is the sound doesnt work sometime in the MP4 format but it does in the AVI format. Any thoughts on converters that I can buy that possibly work faster?

I have been told that it's already possible to convert the internal drive containing everything to a new housing turning it into an external drive to use with a new pc.... But I don't want to buy another pc... this time the switch is to a Macpro. I'm expecting to run mac apps and run bootcamp or parallels ( or both ). Could I connect the converted pc harddrive (basically it turns into an external pc harddrive) to the macpro and run the applications that are installed on the now external harddrive?

It's not that it has an error when trying to import, it's that it won't even let me import it - the file is unselectable in the file browser for importing.
