Jun 8, 2012I have an old pre-Intel G5 Mac desktop and want to keep using Mobile me Mail and Entourage because they work so well and I have been using them for 10 years. I cannot get the mail system to work having moved everything else to iCloud. Followed the instructions but it just does not work and the mail.mac.com server will not accept my password. Any ideas?

Jul 15, 2008Started my system this morning and MobileMe seems to have deleted large quantities of my emails, including several most recent ones that I had yet to reply to. I thought this had happened before, but blamed my editing of email accounts when MobileMe became active. But this is definite, they were there last night and gone now. Not what I expect from an email service.

Per their chat person, they do not have a way to transfer my mobile me emails to my new comcast account. ( If the mobile me account was not expiring, I could link the two. )
So, what is the best way to still be able to access my old emails?
I thought of backing up my mobile me emails, but the apple back up will still be "going away" from what I understand. Or can I save that backup copy to my mac and still access it somehow?

I also have my website on MobileMe. Can I ask, what happens, as I got a warning to switch, as my MobileMe will end soon, if I can't have Lion on my computers?My 11 years of connection to MobileMe will all be lost?
I live in Greece and Mac prices are through the roof here. This is a forced upgrade tactic, I feel. Will there be no alternative to online mail for the lesser mortals without Lion?
Could I have an answer, and not get deleted again, as, as the email states, time is running out.

Mar 3, 2012Just installed Lion on my Early 2008 MacBook Pro. I am trying to setup iCloud Mail & Notes for the first time in the System Preferences. iCloud asks me to "Choose an email address." I already have a MobileMe address so I enter that. iCloud responds by saying that address is already taken. Of course it is, by ME! Whe won't it accept my email address?

Apr 11, 2012Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct." Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?

Jun 16, 2012Writing this on behalf of my dad who is not that technical, he is the one having this problem. First he noticed that mail in his the mail.app was not working. He then tried logging into iCloud on the web but could not. He has one Apple ID which won't allow you to login anywhere, not iCloud, nor even this Apple Support Page.The Apple ID and password are definately correct and have never been changed. We have tried going to [url] to reset the password. After entering the Apple ID and hitting next, then selecting the option to answer security questions, first question, date of birth, comes back and says date of birth does not match records. So went back and selected email authentication. It then says that an email has been sent. The problem here is that he cannot access his email to receive the email notification. Mail is not working because of the problem with the account. Also cannot log into iCloud either to receive the email. I don't really want to create a new Apple ID, as this will cause a lot of hassle.

Jun 26, 2012there is no replacement for MobileMe Gallery, and all of the albums that we have uploaded over the years will just go away. It is even more maddening as we have been paying customers for several years. I know we can redownload the pictures, but what the point? We uploaded the to share with loved ones. How can iCloud not have a gallery function? Why is there not a way to migrate photos in MobileMe Gallery to iCloud?
