I am writing a iphone website and for a navigation menu i want to use a static list. I have searched EVERYWHERE and cant find anything on the topic. I have attached the outline of the website. to recap:
(1) I want to use a static menu as the navigation menu. (2) each entry should link to another view of the stack layout.
I dont care if its dynamic or static but static seemed like the obvious choice.
re-setup my dad's old (2006) D-Link Wireless Range Extender (was working fine with a Netgear Wireless G router; replaced that router with the same model, only newer). I think I've figured out how to log into it now (step one, right?), but I have to "manually configure my computer's IP address to a static address within the range of the extender" (like 192.168.0.XX) and then enter 192.168.0.30 into my browser. My question: how do I "manually configure my computer's IP address to a static address within the range of the extender"? I imagine that's in the Network settings pane.
I'm trying to connect my Macbook to my work internet via an ethernet connection- I do not have access to the main router, just a ethernet jack. Currently, I have a desktop PC at work that works fine and when I plug in my Macbook, the machine does not recognize the internet. I spoke with my IT department who said that I need a static IP address but they do not support Apple so I'm on my own. I tried typing ipconfig in the command window and got 3 numbers : IP address, subnet mask and gatewy address. In the system prefs I typed in the IP number, subnet mask but am not sure where to put the gateway address - Still can't connect to internet -
My wifi access point does not have DHCP enabled, and there is no DHCP server on my network. The internet connection is NOT coming my wifi router.Â
Every machine on the network has a static ip address and manually configured DNS and GATEWAY to my correct gateway IP. This currently is working on this machine (windows 7), my ipad 2, my xperia phone, my windows xp box, my vista box, and even a virtual pc running windows server which is on my mac.Â
But the mac won't connect to the internet, or ping anything including the gateway ip address or any other machine on the ip address. How can I get this mac to have a static ip address without having dhcp ...
This is probably a stupid question, but why isn't there an address contact button that you can click on in a new message from MAIL? Am I missing something here? In all previous versions of the OS one could just do that and a list of contacts popped up and then you could click on one and it would go to the "To" slot. There's got to be an easier way than to open the contact book, find an address, copy it, then place it in the message "To" slot.
I just moved from Tiger to Snow Leopard when I bought my new computer. Tiger all I had to do was click arrange by date once and it always did it. And if i moved a file from the folder all the other files moved up so there wasn't a blank space where the original file had been. In Snow Leopard I have to manually tell it to arrange by date each time and in every window. I want all the finder windows this way and I do not want an annoying empty space left when i move a folder. I know there has got to be something extremely simple I am over looking. Anyone know how to fix my problems?
The following error comes up on the server's screen when I turn on the stations:"IP 10.37.102.21 is used by 00:0d:95:34:ee:60"Another device in my room or building is using the server's static IP address, this causes connectivity problems. I loose connection to the server. How do I find out what device is causing the problem and what do I do to resolve the issue? I am afraid it might be the CISCO 290XL switches used in the lab. I used ARD to check the Ethernet ID's and didn't come up with any workstation using that Ethernet ID or address.
I need to import a plain list of email address in address book. Right now I have them in numbers in one column, and I tried exporting into a CSV file but address book says its not a proper CSV file when I try to import it.
I'm trying to add a new MAC address to the access list of a AirPort Extreme Base Station.
For whatever reason, it won't accept it. When I finish entering the address, the add button is grayed out. If I try other valid addresses, it works fine. For some reason, something about this address won't allow me to add it.
I want to send a email to a group-list (in my adressbook). I didn't found any possibility. I must use Icloud email because i have an old G5, which is not supported on my OS.
I have a mailing list and I would like to send emails to everyone on the list in one go, I copied and pasted the list into my email, but can I have this group somewhere so that I can just call it up like an ordinary address from the address book, preferably without having to type every name individualy into the address book. I tried making a group in the address book and pasting the list in without success,if this is possible can some explain how I can acheive this
If I 'command tab' and display the running programmes and then tab to address book and command 'Q' the programme 'Address Book' does quit but the icon does not disappear from the row of running applications.
I have spent many hours now trying to get on the internet from Parallels. I read several threads on this forum, searched Google, and poked around my computer as described below, but to no avail.I am using a MacBook with an Intel processor and OS 10.5.8. I am running Windows XP version 2002 via Parallels 5.A list of things I have tried:1. Open Internet Explorer, receive message saying "web page is not available offline; to view click Connect," click Connect, see popup labeled "Dial-up Connection" which is of no use whatever.
Is there a way to organize your finder windows automatically like Windows does? By this I mean, tile the windows and/or side by side? I know I can do it manually, but I just would rather have the functionality available.
I want to connect a wireless Epson XP 510 printer. Installed drivers from the Epson website but they do not appear to be compatible according to the drop down list in the apple menu for adding a printer.
I was reviewing audio books on my wish list and the list just became empty. I have stopped and restarted iTunes and I have manually re-logged into my apple account but the list keeps coming up empty. I have tried both the shortcut on the top right and from the drop down on the top left but nothing. Is this a temporary issue with Apple..I'm on a Mac running OS10.9.4 and iTunes 11.3.1Â
Is there (or will there ever be) any way to change the white default color of finder windows in column and list views? Or is there a 3rd party app? You can change them in icon view but that's the only view I never use. My eyes get so tired staring at white all day. If I could make all my windows dark grey I could work longer, better, happier. Would also love to make the Mail app dark.
how to change the MAC address of the virtual machine under Fusion? I want WinXP installed on my virtual machine to have the same address (set by me) every time it is run.
I am trying to setup an XP virtual machine with its own IP address on the iMac so I can remote into it from my laptop. I have tried both VMWare Fusion and Parallels to do this. But the VM only sees the network in Shared mode (called Bridged mode in VMWare). But in that mode, the VM gets a random IP address not in the same subdomain as my local network.
When I change the networking mode to Bridged (called NAT in VMWare) the VM gets an IP in the correct sub domain (192.168.0.xxx) and it gets the auto configured Gateway (192.168.0.1) and DNS Server (192.168.0.1) but I can't see any machines on the network. I can't even ping the router (192.168.0.1). The only thing I can see (Ping) is the host iMac (192.168.0.3). But I can't see any other machines or connect to the internet.
I am getting identical behavior in both Parallels and VMWare fusion which makes me think I am doing something wrong.
After initially installing win 7, and taking a few stabs at the correct driver for the wireless card in my mac pro (apple installed), i got wifi working with a public network.
HOWEVER, i installed windows updates, restarted, and now it's just not working again!
it says that there is not a valid ip address... my macs get on fine...
how to diagnose and fix? the win 7 dianostics do nothing.
I am trying to make a PPTP VPN connection to a Windows server. This connection used to work, but I changed my router DHCP address. Now when I make a VPN connection (and it does connect), the IP address (under System Preferences, Network, VPN) shows 192.168.210.104. This is an address in the old router's DHCP configuration. The new configuration should be a 192.168.200.x address. My Ethernet (and Airport) IP addresses are in the new range - 192.168.200.x. How do I force my PPTP configuration to 'forget' the old address and use the new one? I've deleted the PPTP configuration and created a new one
I am trying to delete an application icon in my menu bar (the top right with the little icons for battery, sound, airport, finder, date and time). For apple applications the command and drag (and move works) is good, but the others don't respond (installed a canon printer/scanner). So, how do I delete (which is what I want now) or move them around (for future) the icons?
I recently went on a trip and have a lot of photos to organize. I am new to iPhoto so I was wondering if there is a way to organize photos within an album (like a way to keep events separated within an album) because I'de like to keep all the photo's for this trip together, but I would also like to organize them into different outings.
I just downloaded the MIT Introduction to Algorithms on iTunes U but when I look in my iTunes U section of iTunes the videos are showing up as a separate collection to the notes. I have given them both th exact same metadata in the hope that this would 'merge' them as a single collection but no luck.
