I am writing a iphone website and for a navigation menu i want to use a static list. I have searched EVERYWHERE and cant find anything on the topic. I have attached the outline of the website. to recap:
(1) I want to use a static menu as the navigation menu.
(2) each entry should link to another view of the stack layout.
I dont care if its dynamic or static but static seemed like the obvious choice.
I've just been getting into Adium today for the first time and been customising everything but theres 2 things I can't figure out. I've been on Google for the past hour and I still can't find what I'm after.
First off can you hide the menu bar on your contact list? It looks horrible with some themes.
Secondly can you remove the service icons from your contact list? I hate having loads of MSN logos going down my desktop.
If anyone could help me on either of issues i will love you forever.

Here is the situation
We are organizing our static ip address list.
For open spots, we are moving people with higher addresses up into the new addresses to fill in gaps.
Did a physical check of all addresses being used.
Ping open addresses, nothing comes back.
Go to change a computers address to that open spot, and it says it is already in use.
Question---Is there a way to boot that ip address out, since it is not being used, and give the address to the computer we want to use it?
I tried to find a menu which gives me a list of action when I close the monitor lid. But I did not see anything in System preferences.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just went to open an image in the Finder with the "Open With" option. I noticed that there are several versions of most of the applications that can open an image. Most are the older versions of the applications. Does anyone know how to edit this list so only the current version of each application is shown? I have attached the menu listing so you can see what I mean by duplicates.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFrom what I understand, remotely accessing your computer is actually not that hard with osx - AWESOME.. but i am finding that it seems like its "too easy to be true? From what i read, all you have to do is go into your system preferences on the server computer and enable sharing and then download "Chicken of the VNC" app (or something like it) and you can access your computer at home?! What about a static IP. Is a static IP required? Or is there a different path to take directly to your computer?
Also, when you are accessing your computer remotely, can you actually use sme of the more complex programs? For instance, i have an iMac at home with Adobe CS4 on it and lots of big photography files on it. Can you actually open and edit those files on your home computer from a different one?
I want to connect a wireless Epson XP 510 printer. Installed drivers from the Epson website but they do not appear to be compatible according to the drop down list in the apple menu for adding a printer.

I was reviewing audio books on my wish list and the list just became empty. I have stopped and restarted iTunes and I have manually re-logged into my apple account but the list keeps coming up empty. I have tried both the shortcut on the top right and from the drop down on the top left but nothing. Is this a temporary issue with Apple..I'm on a Mac running OS10.9.4 and iTunes 11.3.1

I've been a long-time reader on these forums, but the search feature I have not [had a great reason] to register until now. There is plenty of rambling on my reasoning for this, but I'm basically deciding whether or not to get a Mac Pro in the very near future.
One of the biggest questions I have is how much software is currently multi-threaded? I suppose the concern there is, if I spring for the 8-core, will I need to repurchase much of this software for a HUGE performance boost and to utilize the 8 cores outside of multitasking? It feels like the biggest bottleneck is software, currently.

There are many people out here who create a lot of posts asking about what kind of app are good and what do they do ?. There are dozens of videos on youtube on whats in your doc (most of which are outdated).
Honestly I think if people could share what software they have on their macs (both free and payed), with a description of what is does, would help thousands of new mac owners. I looked through the topic on the very top with software recommendations, but it does look a bit dull with only 13 replies that point you to websites where you get bombarded by the insane quantity of software listed there with no proper advice.
I will list my software tomorrow once I get my MBP from repair.

I'm having an issue that I can't figure out. Hopefully someone here will have an idea or two. I need to create a list of specific weekdays with dates from on out. In other words, I need to know the dates of all Sundays and Tuesdays from 12/1/10 to 12/31/12. Ideally, I'd like it do be in an excel or csv format so I could easily manipulate the data. Any ideas on how to do this easily?

I've read many different websites on how to do this and I'm stumped. I don't really understand code, don't use iCal, and have no idea how to read my terminal info.
I'd like to use Geektool b/c of the customization it offers, but I'd also like to be able to use something where I can simply view my to-do list and it refreshes automatically. The thing is I need something that's free.

Im Running Into A Little Problem Using Word Perfect 2008 Version 12.2.4. I Am Trying To Put A List Of Emails That I Have 15k Emails To Be Exact Into Abc Order. If It Doesnt Have That Option Can Any Tell A Program That I Can Download That Does.
I've realized that sometimes I "lose" my wireless signal. I am not using an AirPort router (I'm using Linksys, if that's at all helpful). I've noticed that suddenly all of the wireless signals disappear from the AirPort menu up on the menu bar, except the network that I am connected to (i.e., I only see my router's name there). It also becomes impossible for me to browse the internet, so what I've done to troubleshoot this is disable the AirPort, put the computer to sleep, and disconnect/reconnect my router. When I turn it on, it seems to work. I've also tried simply disabling and then re-enabling AirPort, but it doesn't work after that.

However if I look for it under the finder menu bar, the arrow beside service says 'building'. But I've been waiting for hours and it doesn't look like anything's happening.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Adium for the past month or so for IM, and as of the past couple of days, no matter what I do, I can not make the contact list visible. I've tried deactivating and reactivating it via the Window menu, I've tried changing the settings on when it's supposed to appear, and I've even tried reinstalling the application once, but nothing is working. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this, or should I just stick with iChat for now?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am writing my thesis in Pages 08. I need to have a TOC for all my headlines and I am using the TOC function for that. The problem is that I also want a figure list that updates automatically, TOC style. I can't find ant function for a figure list so I tried to give the figure text a different paragraph style then the regular headlines and then simply add a second TOC showing only that style. Unfortunately that did not work either since Pages only seem to allow one TOC per document.

I "set up" my iChat months ago, and don't remember what I did, but when I open it, a window called "Bonjour List" comes up with my name and picture with a little green video camera beside it. When I click the 'Buddies' drop-down menu, every option is grayed out.. as are almost all of the options on the other drop-down menus. Under the 'iChat' menu, beside Accounts it only says Bonjour.
I don't know what Bonjour is, and don't want to use it on iChat. I'd like to set it up with my AIM account but have no idea how to do so. Is there a way to reset iChat so that it asks me again what account I'd like to use and I can choose AIM? Or any other simple solution? Also.. I just took a screen capture to post here, and have been trying to Draw A Line on it to cover my name for 15 minutes.
I am using Skype 2.7 on Mac OSX Tiger. I couldn't see any place where I can export the contacts list so that if at any other point, I can import them back if needed. If Apple script is there to achieve this, its much better to maintain it.

Do you want this buddy to be added?" It doesn't say this on IM+ on my iPod Touch, and the contact doesn't show up until I click add. Is there any reason for this? Is there any way I can permanently add them or something?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought myself a Macbook Pro 13-inch model and I've been loving it so far. One thing that really bugs me is how bad the menu navigation is in OS X. I just read this on Macrumors and the only way to access menu from keyboard is by using ctrl+F2 key for which I have to press ctrl+fn+f2 key since F2 is a secondary function. Also, there is no way of going directly to the middle of the menu by keyboard shortcuts, right? If that is true, Mac OS X is still not polished enough for laptops. is there are a better way to control the menu items?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm just thinking, the File, Edit, etc., menus seem to be becoming more and more obsolete, as things move into the main window, look at Google Chrome, or Office 2011, I know Apple apps haven't done it yet, and maybe it's just because I'm from Windows recently, but it just seems to take up space unnecessarily.
