so after an isp change, yahoo will not load on my macs, pc's load fine,
dns has been verified,
this is in safari or firefox, cache has been cleared on both,
ran
dscacheutil -flushcache
still cannot load yahoo,
So I just bought my Macbook Pro with Lion a month ago. When I downloaded Yahoo Messenger 8 for mac, the chat rooms wont load when I try to access the chat room directory!

Suddenly about 5days ago, Safari suddenly stopped loading my homepage, uk.yahoo.com - which has been my Homepage for years. I thought it was perhaps a Yahoo problem, but apparently not, as Safari loads any other page from my favorites etc without any hitch, meaning its clearly not an ISP problem either. I did find a thread that suggested un-ticking the 'Restore Windows' box in the General section in System Preferences, (not Safari Preferences), but I cant see a General tab in System Preferences? Additionally, I have deleted Safari, and reinstalled it, but problem still exists. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and Safari version 5.0.6.

Yahoo seems to have made a change that only impacts Safari. Yahoo starts to load and then stops. Resetting Safari, removing cookies and clearing the cache enables sign in but no links from the start page load. Some give a message "loading" and then "Content unavailable try again later." Firefox works OK with Yahoo and Safari works on other sites.

I am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.

I experience this problem in all browsers: Firefox 3.5b4, Firefox 3.5, Safari beta. It just happened randomly. I've tried rebooting and dissabling all add-ons in firefox.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new iMac with Snow Leopard and do not have the following problem with my MBP using Leopard nor have I been able to duplicate this problem on new iMacs at the Apple Store.
Normally on other computers, the Yahoo Mail email header is at the top of the screen, the view pane is at the bottom of the screen and when I double click the email header, the entire email fills the screen in a new tab.
On this new iMac, double clicking the header does nothing; the email stays split on the screen with the header at the top and view pane at the bottom and no new tab.
I've tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome and the problem is unique to this iMac. Any suggestions? Is there a preference that I'm missing?
Since Yahoo now wants us to pay for their PLUS, is there any way around this to get yahoo mail to work for send and receive?

It downloaded and installed fine but its really buggy and i cant start conversations and when i leave the mouse over contacts names instead of showing details it shows just black, and more buggy stuff. And i couldnt install windows version of msn at all.

I might try download a portable .exe of Both of the messengers and try them through crossover since the two .exe installers of the messengers i got were web based installers.
Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I cannot add an attachment to email using Yahoo mail. Every time I select the file, Yahoo mail begins scanning and it then crashes the browser - happens with any browser and any file.
Searching around suggests there are similar problems for some users but not as pervasive.
I'm deciding between those two IM clients, but i can't find a list of differences.

When I try to invite someone to view my webcam they just see a black screen that says "Starting Webcam Session...", but it never loads. Similarly, when I try to view someone's webcam, the same thing happens on my end. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Like I said, it was working fine until a few days ago.

However, every time I try and set up the AT&T Yahoo! mail account in the OS X Mail.app program, it sets it up as a POP account. Can I not have that set up as an IMAP account in Mail.app too!? I have tried the disk utility and repaired permissions but still have problems. I have my iCloud email, and gmail set up and there is never a glitch, why does my yahoo continue to pop up and ask me to reenter my password, i have erased and re entered the account twice now and it always happens, i even saved the password in the keychain, why does yahoo not work. it never has this problem on my iPhone.

I keep getting a popup box that asks me for my Yahoo password. It doesn't look anything like the Apple Mail reminders (the ones that make my Mail icon bounce up and down), so I haven't filled it in. I have also changed my Yahoo password just in case that account was hacked, but the popup keeps showing up. All of the answers I've seen in the forums and elsewhere on line are fairly confusing. This seems like some sort of virus, but no one seems to believe that Macs can get viruses.
