I am looking to see if there is a program(s) out there to change OS X desktop theme. Mainly how the tool bar looks/acts.
I want my kids to start using my G4 and they have no concept of where to look for the apps folder or how it works. They are used to Window and Ubuntu.
I like how Ubuntu has programs ot change how the tool bar acts. I was hoping to change the mac a little.
Also off the base of this thread, coming from a Windows and Linux past, is it an issue if my kids just click the red X instead of using the File/quit method to close programs? I see the menu bar still exists when they just hit the X..
I have downloaded the new Lion version and it comes with this really ugly ical leather theme...I want to change it back or just change it to something else....I have 6 different calendars since I am operating a salon and the new colours aren't as bright and nice and the font is all ugly...

I was loading some updates on a mac. The spinning wheel just kept spinning. I shut down the mac. Now when I start I get the apple and the circle loading. I tried apple+option+p+r. I got the load tone sound but nothing else. I have the tiger disk, but it will not open.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe safari loading wheel is constantly spinning when facebook is open...Software is all up to date (The macbook is only 1 day old) and I've tried rebooting.

The other day I went to restart my Macbook. It wouldn't so I had to force it via the off button. Now it boots but is stuck at desktop. I can't do ANYTHING but just look at the desktop background (which loads) and the spinning cursor. I reset PRAM and booted in Safe Mode but the same thing happens, it's just stuck on the desktop with no dock, no nothing but the spinning cursor. My disc drive is broken so can't do a reinstall right now and not sure if I could use an external disc drive. What I have tried: Resetting PRAM Going into single user and running a check- returns saying the volume is okay. When I typed reboot it didn't reboot. Exit brings me to the same desktop with spinning wheel.

Whenever I try to right click on the desktop and click "change desktop background" it just plays the error sound. And theres no longer an option for it in system preferences. The only way I can change it is if I select an image from the internet, and right click on it, and select "set as.."

If I change the desktop background in the interval of every one minute, will it have a impact on battery life? I notice there's even an option for every 5 seconds. Surely, Apple must feel confident in the battery life of the MBP if there is such an option. I like seeing a new image every so often, but don't want to sacrifice too much battery. What do you feel is the best setting? Every 5 minutes? 15 min? 30 min? 1 hour?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I change my desktop image, it often changes back to its previous setting next time I boot up. And- it doesn't remain constant between graphics cards either. (15" late '08 UMBP)
It changes when I connect external monitors, and it changes when I bring it home from work and boot up.
I just can't wrap my head around it. I have to change it every time I boot up, actually.

In System Prefs, selected Desktop & Screensaver. Selected image from pane at right. Used to be the desktop image would change as soon as I clicked on it. Now, nothing happens. Same results when I select an Apple image vs my own jpeg.

I have 2 MBP's, a Mac Pro, and a Mac Mini. On all of these I use a Logitech Trackman Wheel with. I updated the first 3 machines to Snow Leopard and the Logitech Trackman Wheel continued to work fine. I then upgraded the last MBP to Snow Leopard. For some reason the scroll wheel no longer works on the Logitech Trackman Wheel. I am able to use the ball to move around the screen, the buttons still work, but the scroll wheel won't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.
