Since apparently you have to be an upgraded member on Yahoo mail to be able to sync OS-X' Mail app with it, what would be the best alternative that would allow a non-upgraded Yahoo mail user use it?

I tried to sync my Yahoo e-mail contacts to my MBP and it didn't work. So i did my contacts manually. Getting Alert from Yahoo stating "you are about to sync the following info with Yahoo .contacts. What would you like to do? #1 option Merge data on this computer{MBP} & Yahoo!#2 option Replace data on this computer! I went in my MBP hard drive and deleted sync entries for Yahoo about 3-4 times-they just keep appearing after I get the "ALERT" notification every few hours.Check my Yahoo acct and there is no Alert listed. This I know is a big PAIN.SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I am not receiving email messages in my Mail account on my Mac OSX. However, emails are being received on my ipad and my yahoo web site. Also, all emails from Apple are going through in my Mail account.

I am having trouble configuring the mail app. When I set it up to my yahoo account, it loads all the bulk mail, but my inbox stays empty even if my boyfriend sends me emails...how can I get this working properly? We have a Mac user trying to send attachments in an email to a PC recipient. She is using Apple's Mail app. Whenever she tries to attach a file - a JPEG for instance - it seems to attach as an inline graphic rather than a normal attachment. The PC recipient gets no paperclip symbol on their end, and can't do anything with it. I'm assuming this may be a preference setting in Mail, but can't seem to find where to change it. Turning on the "Send Windows-friendly attachments" seems to make no difference.
I've had this email account with AT&T for a few years and it has worked with Mac Mail with no difficulty for a few years. Recently the account has been able to receive messages. Every time I hit Get Mail it asks for a password. I have installed all the latest updates through Software Update. I have a Mac Mini with OS Lion. After struggling for awhile, my inbox eventually comes in. I have reset all the incoming and outgoing POP Server accounts, as well as used the Web-mail version through [URL] and it all works fine.
what is the term in mac mail or in address book for creating a list of four or five or ten people in order to address a mail to all at once so i don't have to find all their names every time i send something? i can't remember where this is or what it is called.

I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts).

I'm trying to get Apple Mail to grab my Yahoo mails, but for the life of me can't seem to get it to work.. I dont have the Yahoo Mail PLUS i have the Yahoo Mail free POP..... Can anyone provide some instructions for this syncing?
So I've been a long time yahoo mail user, I tried Gmail for a while but found Yahoo easier to use not to mention its UI looks much better. Gmail's UI compared to Yahoo's UI looks like something that hasn't been finished or something. Yahoo's UI just looks more polished (am I the only one who likes yahoo better than gmail?) , anyways, the only advantage I found to Gmail was the free IMAP access (you have to pay for POP access on yahoo).
Searching around on the web for ways to have free POP access with yahoo mail, I found a software solution from a company called Zimbra . It's a mail application that lets you access your free yahoo account(s) from your desktop. You can also add other POP (or IMAP) enabled accounts (AOL, hotmail, Gmail, Outlook accounts, etc).
I just downloaded the application on my mac and I've been playing around with it. I was wondering if anyone has had positive or negative experiences with this application. Good enough to replace the other mail apps?
A few months ago I installed some Thai fonts on my mac book. I downloaded them from this site, and dragged them into Font Book. Unfortunately, one of the fonts I added replaced the default Thai font (used to be Ayuthaya) for MS Office and the Yahoo email compose letter field. Furthermore, Ayuthaya no longer appears on the drop down for MS Office, even though it's in Font Book.
Questions 1) How do I change the fonts back to how they were? 2) How do I add fonts without having this problem?
