I noticed that when I view a keynote presentation that has been exported to a pps, some of the functions don't work the same. For example the fly in effect appears very differently. Is there anything I should be doing?
View 1 RepliesI have my PC next to my Mac as I am a new owner, when I go into Finder it sometimes shows my PC so I can take files off it. Why does it not always show it? Is there something I have changed etc to make it do this, it does show my external drives. Forgive me if this has been posted before but I have tried a search to no avail.

I've been trying to access my iphoto application for the past couple of days and it isn't working as it should. The application is open and when I place my mouse in a corner of the screen, the iphoto screen shows up in my boxes view, but I'm unable to click on it. As soon as I click on the screen it disappears. So the application is open and the options bar appears across the top of the screen, but I'm unable to view it normally.
I am having a problem with pdfing from safari, i can download the pdf, but it shows everything in Chinese! i've tried searching for the problem but to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had a High Resolution IP Camera set up at a offsite location. The company that set it up gave me an IP addresss to log in to see the pictures streaming. The problem is the address only works with Interent Explorer. Is there anyway to emulate IE without installing windows, or run a similar program to view the image. I'm looking NOT to buy extra software. It does not work with Safari or Firefox. I also tried Firefox on a windows machine and it did not work.

On a PC if i want to look at a bunch of images, I can double click on one, Windows Photo Viewer pops up and I can scroll through all the images in that folder.
However on a osx, the file opens in Preview but forwards and back are greyed out, is there any way of making it work so I can scroll through my images like I can on Windows?
I have hundreds of .mht (single-file webarchieve) files I saved from Internet Explorer. How can I view them (better yet, batch convert them to Safari's webarchive) on Mac with opensource or free software? I got Opera to open them, but the formatting is bad. There are so many that going back to the actual pages would be too time consuming.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just switched to Mac and love it. I am curious, however, about viewing pdf files in firefox instead of opening them in preview. I really liked doing this on windows with Adobe reader, and I am curious if there is a way for Preview to display pdfs in the browser as well?
If not, is adobe reader worth installing? Or is opening Preview as a separate window with the pdf still faster than the adobe reader plugin?

When I clicked on PDF files in Safari in the past, the little wind at the bottom of the green used to have Open in Preview as an option. Now it is open in Adobe Reader instead. How do I get the Preview option back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn the last couple days, I think since I installed the last upgrade in the OS, my QT is 'unable to complete the process' of opening wmv files. Months ago, I think after I upgraded to Lion, QT stopped allowing me to view avi files. The file opens, and I can scroll through the content, but to 'play' button doesn't work. I can still view those files using DivX Player 8.2.2. These are all files that used to work just fine with QT. Is there anything I can do to restore this functionality to QT?

View 7 Replies View RelatedHow can I save web pages I visit so I can view them when I'm not online? For example, right now i'm writing an essay for school and have like 10 web pages saved on my Google Notebooks. Obviously this isn't an issue when I'm connected to the internet as I can simply just go to my notebook and link to the sites again. But there are times, like yesterday when I had a few hours to kill, no where near any internet but had my macbook with me in my car and could've typed away. But needed the info on the web pages. How can I save/cache those sites so I can open them up when I'm not connected to the internet? If it matters I use Firefox mainly/online. BTW, I realized it takes like 80% less time for me to complete an essay if i'm using my macbook than a PC from my university.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a Macbook Pro 13" and one of the problems is when i view a HD video on YouTube, during playback it stops and starts constantly.. Is this a connection problem and if so are there any ways i can enhance it? Or is there a way to change some settings from within the OS?
I am connected to my home wifi network and it works great for everything else. Regular YouTube videos playback fine.
On Snow Leopard, since 10.6 and still in 10.6.1, I've noticed too high CPU overload after I open folder which contains even one flash video (flv file - downloaded from web using firefox addon DownloadHelper). The name of process which does the overload is: QTKitServer-(243) Quick Look Helper.
This process uses almost 100% of CPU, makes it hot and often leads to black screen, when is not possible see anything, except: I can see mouse cursor, make keyboard commands but due the black screen the only solution is to turn off my MacBook 13" - alu, late 2008. If I am lucky and close Finder window very quickly, this process disappears and overload is gone. Does anybody else have same/similar problem?

I have been trying to find out what cables I need in order to connect my Macbook with my HDTV so I can watch DVDs and video streams. It's a new TV with lots of connections but I don't know exactly what all the connections are besides the HDMI stuff.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my powerbook 1.5ghz g4 to 2 gb of ram. It runs multiply applications fine now. The only thing that I'm still disappointed with is when I am viewing videos on youtube or elsewhere my CPU maxes out and the video is all chopping.
I know it's old (6 years!) and I need a new computer (which I'm thinking of getting the 27" iMac i5) but I feel as if it should be able to view videos on youtube without being chopping and maxing out the CPU...
I just installed a Blu-Ray burner this weekend and authored some Blu-Rays discs from some of my home movies. Anyway, they play fine on the TV but how do I play them on the Mac? (I couldn't get the MakeMKV/VLC solution to work.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo at my office we move from logic (obviously mac based workstation) to a PC workstation to upload audio files.
We've encountered a growing issue which is the hidden .DS and ._* files.
These files are hidden in every folder on mac but when we move a folder with say 100 audio files bounced from logic to a PC every audio file has a ._ alias and each folder has a .DS alias.
Right now the only way we can fix it is manually removing all the hidden files on the PC. We have tried a Terminal script that removes the ._ files but they seem to just recreate themselves.
I think this is the correct place to put this.... but here it goes.
I live in a sketchy area of Atlanta, and I'm a pilot so I'm gone about half the month. I had a CCTV system installed with an internet ready DVR. But, like most DVRs - I need ActiveX to be able to use it from remote locations.
Now - I have two macs, an iMac G4 PowerPC with the 17in swivel monitor, and a MBP. I normally carry the MBP to work with me, but I ordered an iPad 3G which I will be carrying from here on out.
I want to get IE with ActiveX on the iMac G4 and then uses an app such as LogMeIn on the iPad to access my DVR (through the iMac) when I'm out of town. How I do this is beyond me, and it makes it more complicated since it's not an intel based Mac.
Does anyone know how to fix an issue with my G4 500 Altavec AGP desktop and IMAC G4 800 LAMPSHADE having same issue with both computers. When I try to view an apple movie trailer or When I go to Hulu to view a TV or Movie. The video is very choppy and slow. I have 2 ghz of memory and have had comcast out to check that the incoming signal is fast and it is. I have a 128 pro rage graphic card so that should be plenty to view video.

So I want to watch videos downloaded from the internet, either M3U or PLS . The files seem to be automatically transfered to itunes for playing, and yet it is not able (maybe not compatible?) to play these types of files...
I have tried opening these files with other applications: Quick Time or Adobe Flash Player as the video supplier advises...but nothing happens..as I assume they are already itune files...
