OS X :: Viewing Multiple Images On Mac?

I still use both windows and mac for various tasks.

On a PC if i want to look at a bunch of images, I can double click on one, Windows Photo Viewer pops up and I can scroll through all the images in that folder.

However on a osx, the file opens in Preview but forwards and back are greyed out, is there any way of making it work so I can scroll through my images like I can on Windows?

Aperture :: Viewing Images In Split Screen?
I'm new to Aperture, so I'm sure this is a basic question, but I'm having problems viewing some pictures in the split screen view.

Most pictures I double click show up full screen, 1 image on the screen, but I seem to have an entire library that doesn't work this way. When I double click, I get 11 images on the screen.

Mac Mini :: Opening Multiple Images In Preview / All Coming Out Gray
Whenever I try to open around 20 or more images in preview the images all start coming out gray as if the video system has run out of memory or something? Is this normal behaviour and is there anyway around this limitation. I don't think I'm low on memory since I have 4GB of ram and 256MB of video on my macmini. Also, if I try playing back any video's after this they play with a black background and no video comes through so that's why I'm thinking it's graphics related? This is a clean install of Snow Leopard with latest updates installed. Don't remember if I had this problem with Leopard but I really don't want to reinstall just to find out.

If I have a bunch of files and I want to see the combined size of these files, on windows I would simply mark each file, right click one of them and hit properties. If I do that on my new mac mini and then hit More Info or whatever it says, then it just opens the info window for each file - it doesn't give me one where it says the combined amount of files, size and such. Is it possible to do this somehow?

ITunes Mac :: Multiple Family Mbrs, Multiple Ipods, Multiple Accnts, Multiple Computers
I have a family of 6, we each have various ipods (iphone, ipod, nano, shuffle, etc), and we have multiple computers -- some Mac and some PC.

We need to understand what factors impact the ability to put a particular track on one or more devices, manage a given device from one or more accounts on one or more computers, and share, as allowed, between devices, people, iTunes libraries, iTunes store accounts, for both purchaed tracks and MP3 files that we might already own, etc...

I'm looking for a simple and concise description of all of the factors. Any pointers?

If the iTunes world were simple we could simply each have our own music -- stored in one or more places in one or more accounts, on one or more computers. We would be able to share what we like, and put whatever subset we like on whichever device, manage any device from any account on any computer, etc... Of course this could be subject to licenses, but it should at least be possible to get a statement of what license restrictions exist.

Can anyone suggest any references for this? I assumed it was simple, but anyone who has recently plugged a "guest" iPod into another computer will know this is not the case after having been rewarded with the choice of wiping all content off of the iPod, or somehow transferring the content to the friend / family member (with no clear indication of whether this also comprises transferring the content away from the original user, nor how, if possible, to undo such a move later, etc...)

I have seen an article relating to using multiple ipods with one computer, but it does not address all of the issues -- for example using one ipod with multiple computers, etc...

Aperture :: Metatags For Multiple Images?
I needed to add a keyword to several pictures, so I selected them all (from a very large set), clicked the Metadata pane, and entered my keyword, and hit return.

But it didn't stick.

So I tried to add the keyword to ONE image, and realized that "return" didn't "enter" the keyword, only put an actually paragraph return in the keyword field. Weird, but okay.

I then tried entering it for one image, and hitting "tab". Which made the keyword "stick".

So, I went and selected ALL my images again (very arduous and time consuming), and then entered my keyword, and hit "tab".

But it only assigned that keyword to the FIRST image of all the images I had selected.

I ended up having to do "lift/stamp" and choose only "keyword" from the menu. But, am I crazy, or should the way I initially tried to do this work? I mean, it's pretty common sense, right? Select multiple images, enter keyword, and done?

Aperture :: Adding Keywords To Multiple Images
I'm getting really frustrated. I've been a long time iPhoto user, but my husband bought me Aperture and I'm trying to move to it. . . .anyway, I'm trying to add keywords to some of my pictures (I miss my "hot keys"). I have the Keyword Controls open on the bottom of the split view window and I've set up a variety of keyword preset lists. . . Anyway, the problem that I am having is when I select multiple images to apply a keyword to, it is only applying the keyword to the "primary" (meaning the boldly outlined in white) image - even though the other images as selected (outlined in a less bold white boarder) the keywords are not assigned to them. It's like I have to add the keywords to each image one at a time. I've looked at a bunch of the material online and it's clear to me that you are SUPPOSED to be able to add keywords to multiple images at a time. Anybody have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

IPhoto 11 :: Can No Longer Print Multiple Same Images
With the previous version of iPhoto, I used to be able to print multiple versions of the same image on one page. I could set the size to same, 2 by 3 inches, and the page would fill up with many of my images.

Now, with the latest version of iPhoto, when I go though the same process iPhoto zooms in on the middle 2 by 3 inches of the photo, and prints only that multiple times.

How can I get back to printing the full image, smaller, multiple times on one page?

Aperture :: Selecting Multiple Images In Different Folders/projects?
What is the most efficient way to go about this? On occasion I will export a web gallery using the FlashAlbumExporter. Simple if the images are in the same project. But sometimes I need to pull different images from all over the place. I created a new project and made duplicates of my versions (learning more about Stacks and Picks in the process) and dragged the duplicates to the new project.

Perhaps I should have given each version a unique keyword and created a smart album?

OS X Tiger :: Using Preview To View Multiple Images In Separate Windows
So I'm using OS Tiger with Preview 3.0.9 and have selected "Open each image in its own window" in the Preview preferences. And this works, at least for the first 20 or so images. Then it automatically starts to open all subsequent images in the last window as little thumbnails that can be clicked on. When using my newer computer with Snow Leopard I am able to open (seemingly) unlimited windows, each showing its own image.

However on this older maching, even with the correct preference setting, I can't view more than a few images at a time in their own window. I hate having all of the images grouped in a single window as it makes it very difficult for me to compare things. I have to keep clicking back and forth, back and forth. I want everything to be in its own window and I will choose to hide or have them floating onscreen, etc. Is there a limit to how many this version of Preview will show?

OS X Leopard :: Time Machine Placing Multiple Disk Images On Desktop
I have recently set-up a 2TB Time Capsule for one of my clients. Each time Time Machine does an hourly backup - it places a Disk Image icon on the desktop called e.g.'Backup of Anya' - which is basically the sparse disk image mounting from the Time Capsule on the Desktop temporarily whilst TM backs up to it - the problem however is the disk image does not auto-unmount when completed ...

An hour later it will mount another Disk Image backup on the desktop - and so on and so on and so on. By the end of the day there are close to 10 unmounted Time Machine backup disks on the desktop - and subsequently in each machines 'Devices' panel in the Finder - all across the network. It's my understanding the the image should automatically unmount when TM has completed its hourly backup. [URL]

ITunes Mac :: Stops Adding Multiple Artwork In Multiple Selection Mode?
Since 2003 I've been using iTunes and adding multiple artwork in several tracks at once.

Lets say: I added 10 tracks of a CD to iTunes library, then selected all of them and then right click to choose "Get Info > Multiple Item Information". Then I just dragged and dropped as many artwork pieces as I wanted onto the artwork window, one by one. Clicked OK and voil√°.

Now it will only accept one artwork. Following the procedure I used to do, now it will only take the last artwork I place onto the artwork window.

Now the only way to get multiple artwork in a CD is adding all the artwork (lets say the 20 pages of the booklet) one by one in "each track" separately!, which is a pain in the neck.

So now I have to add artwork one by one to each track one at a time.

Is there a NEW way to add multiple artwork on multiple tracks at once in iTunes 9.2?
