i'm told the download is complete, but when i click the 'setup' icon it appears on my dock for a split second before disappearing.

I just received an email form Apple. They are offering a free 30 day trial of iWork '09!!

View 2 Replies View RelatedFollowed all instructions, trail version detected but after a few minutes the message "cannot uninstall: you are probably not logged in as administrator" Fact is that I AM the administrator, actually I am the only user of this iMac... Can anyone help? I just bought a full boxed business version of Office and I cannot install it before removing the trial version.

I'm just cautious since I need the software, but don't want to buy the full package with the Mac App store opening soon, where I could buy the individual Apps cheaper. Also, will I be able to simply delete the trial version and the download the full version from the App store as a was of replacement?

I would like to try the FCP but as I downloaded a trial version of it yesterday I was informed, during installing, that I need at least Mavericks to run it. Im on 10.8.5 Mountain Lion (on a 15"MBPR) and do not wish to upgrade OS. Is this possible?

I installed a trial of iWork 09 yesterday to get a feel for it, liked it so went out today and purchased the box from my local Apple Store. I know about the whole not needing a serial number now however it is asking me for one since the install on all three applications. I removed the trial and all evidence of it and restarted my macbook before installing the box.

I have a Mac Pro 2008 with 10.6.4. I am having trouble installing Windows 7 using Boot Camp. I see that I have Boot Camp Assistant 3.0.1, however, I noticed on my laptop, that it has 3.0.2. I go to SU and nothing shows up. How do I get to 3.0.2 Boot Camp Assistant? One reason I noticed that something may be wrong is that when the Boot Camp installer goes through, that it doesn't mention Windows 7 in the disc requirements.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had an iMac for 8 months now, and I have recently bought a new router as my previous one died after 3 years of service and so I got a new one from BT (I'm in the UK). The new router works with 3 laptops, an iPhone, and two desktop PCs - but not with my iMac.
It intermittently picks up the signal and when it does finally connect, says the router is not connected to the internet - despite my laptop and iPhone being on the same desk and connecting.
I'm still using a Mac os x version 10.4.8 and my stickies application recently decided not to open anymore even though I was using it fine the other day. It jumps up once and then nothing happens, the problem with this is I wrote home work on it. However I'm past the point of thinking it will recover any information so where can I download stickies version 5.2 ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new keyboard for my iMac after a beer spill damaged my old keyboard. I went to Best Buy and noticed that all that was available was the new, very thin model of the keyboard with no numeric keypad. I am finding myself making lots of typing errors on this keyboard. Apparently, key sizes are different and the arrangement of even the shift key is not identical to what it was before. Is there any way to buy the old-style keyboards? Or are they out of production now?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI really want to update my mac to the new version of Snow Leopard or Lion but to my understanding I must buy the disks to update it. However I feel like buying a macbook pro to my replace my mid-2009 white macbook, once I graduate so I could use it for college (which is 2 years from now and I'm saving up for it). Also how do I backup my mac (hardrive)? I'm quite lost. I'm told that I must use Time Machine, but how? Do I use a CD to back up? Some external drive and if yes where could I buy one?
P.S. I'm a newbie with tech stuff. I'm no genius with it so I suggest to take it slow with me. PLUS there's no Apple Store here to help me out.
1) Upcoming software updates? *secretly wishes they were FREE*
2) Backing up my hardrive?

Am I doing something wrong or is there another version of AHT that is available as a download that will work?
I just "upgraded" yesterday from a Power Mac G4 to a 17" MacPro. Among other adjustment problems, I can't open PDF files. The message I get is "You can't open the application Adobe Reader because it is not supported on this kind of Mac."
I've tried downloading the latest version of Adoobe Reader, an although it seems to download, I can't find it.
How do I deal with PDF files on a MacPro?
Can someone explain to me why Apple has refused to make a wireless version of their full size keyboard with the numeric keypad? Their wired version is great, but I can't stand wires. When my full size white Apple keyboard went to the sandbox in the sky last year, I dropped $120 for a brand new one I found online (high price to the fact Apple didn't make them anymore then), and now that one has just taken a dump -- I spilt literally three drops of water on it and the space bar stopped working completely.
Now I'm stuck with Apple's micro wireless keyboard until they come out with the full size wireless one - if ever.
i have a new mid-2010 i5 iMac with a radeon 5750 processor, and would like to run linux on it, however, ubuntu 10.10 isn't working, i get through the whole install, and restart, and it won't boot. i've installed rEFIt, and it shows up as installed on the drive, but won't boot to anything but black with a flashing white line on the top left. known compatible working version?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI do some website work on the side (my own site, weddings, and a few non-profits) never really for money, just for service in kinc or fun. I currently use 8, and have an opportuinity to pick up a super cheap copy of CS3 from a friend who is migrating back to Windows.
Is it worth $100? What are the new features. I was lead to believe it makes CSS layouts extremely managable and had some cool new stuff.

I'm currently using a Mac Pro 2.66 with 2 gigs of ram.
Every program I run works fine...I use parallels and remote connect to a pc all the time. No problems
When I open Dreamweaver to do simple edits and work I get a pinwheel that wont go away. Must force quit.
The rest of CS3 works just fine, I use photoshop and illustrator and have no trouble at all. Anyone have any guesses on what could be wrong?
