When I try to watch a already aired tv show thru my computer. It seems to be in slow motion. Am I doing something wrong. I have a g5 MAC OS X Version 10.4.11. I need help fast. I wasn't sure which forum to go to.
View 7 RepliesI have a new MacBook (Dec '08) and everything is working fine with one exception. When I type numbers into the calculator app they appear on the screen in slow motion with a nice long pause as each number typed is displayed. On our iMac the calculator app just flies along and has no problem keeping up no matter how fast I enter in numbers. Any ideas where to start on this one? Besides the standard software we have installed Microsoft Office and Handbrake.

I was just playing around with stacks and I found out that if you hold shift and click on a stack it springs up VERY slow, kind of cool looking the first time you do it, kind of stupid after that lol.
I recently (Jan2010) purchased a new MBP 15, with 4GB RAM and 7200pm 500GB Hard disk.
The main reason for buying it was to do video editing on FCP and Motion.
However FCP on this machine seems really clunky, i.e. everything has to be rendered before you can even see an effect. Is this normal? I don't have this on my old work PC with CS4 Premiere Pro. And it sometimes crashes, even on titling.
Also, Motion is really clunky. It doesn't show me any fluidity when playing back even basic sequences... just jumping.
And when I even just play videos on QT or rented DVDs the computer just crashes about every half an hour. Proper crashing too, with no mouse movement or anything.
Can someone shed some light on this?
All the forums I read before buying this MBP, said FCP and Motion would be fine!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my air a few days ago, as a 2nd computer, a portable to go with my desktop. however I am finding that it is actually a bit too slow for my needs (i got the 1.6/80gb), even as a secondary computer.
I kinda wanted to use the air as my appletv device - to watch all the things I've downloaded on my desktop on my HDTV, which is in another room.
Loading up youtube and flash heavy sites seems to make the fan speed up to full blast. Watching divx movies also makes it spin up to max.
Some video files (notably RMVB real player files) play very jerkily and result in dropped frames, but usually the audio is alright.
All in all, quite disappointing as its a nice little machine otherwise. Just the dropped video frames and fan spinning up to max to watch files is kinda hard to live with. Anyone else finding this with their air?
I've had my MacBook Pro since 2010 and it's been pretty solid for me ever since. About a month and a half ago, however, I was watching a TV show online on my computer when the video suddenly started lagging and freezing. This had never happened to me before, and now my computer just can't run a video without lagging. Before I first discovered this problem, I was watching a lot of episodes of TV shows, so I was thinking maybe that had something to do with the problem. Is there anything I can do?

This question is regarding burning a DVD that I have made in IDVD. I edit my dvds with Final Cut express and then set it all up in idvd. I was wondering why and how I can stop the fact that when I watch the DVD back, if I have used any slow motion in the movie that it goes all shaky and doesn't run smoothly at all. How I can stop it happening and make it so that slow motion runs smoothly once burnt on to the dvd? It plays fine during playback on the computer before I have burnt it on to dvd.

View 6 Replies View RelatedA while ago, my MacBook Pro started to randomly open launchpad in "Slow motion" when I am typing. Ever since then, my computer has been acting quite sluggish, and once my iTunes library disappeared. (Luckily I keep a backup, but that seems to have resolved itself.) I do not think that the opening launchpad thing is a hardware issue, mainly because of all of the other symptoms. One thing that I'm worried about is it might be the Flashback trojan, but I have not downloaded anything that would appear to be an Adobe update, and I did get the Java update. I am just curious about what it sounds like.

I have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie. They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem. I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet. I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look". Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?

So I just bought a Seagate momentus XT HDD for my 2010 i7 15" MBP. I clonded the drive using Super Duper from the old drive (500GB Toshiba) to the new drive using a USB SATA enclosure.
I now have the new drive installed. Once the Apple logo shows up it boots very fast, but it takes like 30 seconds for the logo to show up almost as if it is having trouble finding the boot drive.
I have run Onyx's full automated service whihc verified startup disk, verified and repaired permissions, emptied caches, etc.
My computer is stating up very slow it take over five minutes to get the menu to show and over ten to start safari i have already cleaned out the history, cookies, caches and random files I no longer need what do I do next?

Before when I used to view pictures they show up in (from what I can remember) Picture...im not sure what else is missing but after a while they started showing up in colorsync which i didnt like then i deleted it and the pictures started showing up in quicktime. Has anyone that has a mid 2010 MBP and a SSD noticed HDD lock in sudden movement with a SSD?
You can simulate this 'lock' by moving the MacBook suddenly when playing content from the drive... Has anyone seen the drive cause playback to halt for 2-3 seconds while the SSD 'recovers'? If so, this needs to be fixed...
I am trying to purchase Motion 5. It appears to only be available on the App Store via download. At a 1GB file size it is to big for me to download via my cellular service without taking an extreme finacial hit. Is there anyway to get the

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running a OS X 10.9.5 and just purchase Motion 5.1.2 at the APP Store and I cannot save any template in Motion 5. Every time I tried, I can hear a sound like "tunk" and I see the progressive bar very, very quickly. Doesn't seem to be normal. The project is on the respective Motion Templates file but when I open FCPX and look for the project I saved, I can see it as a thumbnail in the respective media browser but it is not available. I tried with different media and even without any media (just text) and the result is the same.

i want to export an HD video with approx. 30 Gb. So now i have a problem: My Final Cut Pro X not want to do this, it says, 4 Gb for a "normal" DVD or approx. 9 Gb for a Blue-ray and that are not 30 Gb....
But before I buy Motion i wanna check, if it was a useful alternative.So what i want to do is following: My video with approx. 30 Gb either on 6 "normal" DVD's or on 2 Blue-Ray Disc's. If so, operate this with Motion or even with final cut pro X (and it was my mistake)?
