In sidebar, it displays devices, places, & search for. There are a few internet shortcuts under places. The links are broken and I am not able to remove the links from places.

I want to be able to select multiple links in my bookmarks sidebar so I can organize certain bookmarks into a folder.
In windows I could just use the shift or ctrl keys to select multiple items. How does this feature work on a Mac?

I was able to organize my bookmarks through the "organize bookmarks" feature.
I have dead links in my finder sidebar that I can't delete. Nothing happens when I right click it, and messing around with the preferences doesn't remove it either. What do I do?

I've got a PDF document (actually, several PDF documents, but for a single purpose) that contains information on various points in music with links to examples that should play when clicked.The problem is, when I click on the links, nothing happens.They are in a folder just beneath the folder that contains the PDFs and I can easily Spotlight for them and run them, but would prefer clicking on the link and getting them to run by themselves.Is there anything I can do to make the links load themselves?BTW - I'm opening the PDF in Preview. Links to pages seem to work fine, it's just the links to the music examples that don't seem to work. Should I be using Acrobat Reader instead?

I've googled and search here, and I just can't find the answer to this.
I renamed one of my computers at home. Now both instances of it show up in the Shared section of the finder sidebar and I can't remove the old one. When I do a Get Info, it shows as a PC Server, but I can't actually access anything on it. Is there any way to keep this from showing up?

I have tried go to Preferences-->Sidebar in Finder and deselect everything but the folder remains in my sidebar. I am unable to select/highlight the folder in Sidebar. I have tried to drag the folder into the trash or to my desktop, but nothing happened. I just remains in Sidebar. I have also tried to locate the folder anywhere on my computer/HD, but it's nowhere to be found.

just eagerly downloaded the update which supposedly fixed the problem with the "remove website data" from the Safari privacy pane, the one that doesn't work, right, well, it's just the same as it ever was, cookies popping up all over the place, even after deletion. Again, I do not wish to trawl my computer looking for plists or prefs to delete, I just want the "remove all website data" button to work. Any others still experiencing this or is it just me? Has anyone found an answer to this yet?Â

There are following problems with two PDF Files. When I open the PDF with preview 5.0.3 in main window there is an other chapter as I have mark in the sidebar.There is allway a different of one chapter between mainwindow and sidebar.
This failure are in two PDFs.The PDFs are manuals of DEVONthink, not the help of DEVONthink. There is no problem when I open this PDFs with Acrobat Reader 9.5.0. Sidebar and main windwow the same chapter when I mark it in sidebar.Â

I searched and foud some fixes like deleting .plist file and clicking the oval button on the top right of finder, and nothing works.Â
I know when I click on the oval it's suppos to appear, but it's not. The only thing that happens is that the top part hides and appears. I just want to get my finder the way it was. I actually have folders there for quick access and now it's gone.Â

I have two websites. The old one is DogToysAndTreats.com. The new one is FunStuffForDogs.com. I need to change the home page graphic on both of them to point to my shopping cart pages. I have done this and published the changes on both sites. It works on my Mac but not on my PC.url...the graphic at the top with the bulldogs is supposed to link to url....Same thing on url... It works on my Mac in both Safari and Chrome. On my PC, it doesn't work on IE, Safari or Firefox. (BTW, I haven't worked on any of the other links until I can figure out how to do it properly.)

This is a strange one I can't seem to fix by deleting preferences or anything. On a ''normal'' Mac running Leopard or Snow Leopard, in the ''Shared'' part of the Finder sidebar, when you mount a drive a little round gray eject button appears beside it. On one single account on my Mac running Leopard 10.5.8 this strange thing happens where it does not appear--all of the other accounts work properly. How do I restore this? I've deleted the Finder preferences as well as the sidebar preferences, force relaunched Finder.

When I show the sidebar in Preview it lists page, type, date, and author, but does not display the words in the annotations!With a long of annotations that only identify themselves by "Text", it's laborious to find the note one is looking for. Mail has been working well for a year on a mac air. mail had been running on my computer yesterday and, I assume it crashed, because when i got home and opened the computer mail was no longer open. and when I opened it it started running me through setup as if i had never used the program.there was no way to open mail without going through the setup -- that seems to be a problem to me right there.I kept canceling the setup but then it wouldn't launch mail. so finally i went through setup and resetup one of my email accounts. the name of the inbox is slightly different althought , as it turned out, the name of the outbox is identical.
the program recognized that there was already any outbox with this name but instead of linking with that in some way it instead named the new outbox "delivered" that's cool to avoid a conflict but there doesn't appear to be any way to tell the program just to reconnect with the previous boxes. I can import them but then then they come in an import folder. I'd like to get all my mail for a certain account into the same folder, not have what is essentially an archive folder for each account and an active one.
how to reconnect to these old mailboxes as active accounts, or how when importing to merge the appropriate mailbox with the appropriate account.or to restore mailbox settings/preferences or users or whatever was lost. I do have a backup that includes my library files to sugarsync if there is some kind of restore I could try.

Adobe recommends downgrading from Safari 5.1.7 as this version will not open pdfs in Snow Leopard. Where can I find downloads of older (pre 5.1.7) versions of Safari? The apple site keeps forcing me to the download for the most recent 5.1.7 version.

I just turned on Web Sharing but it's not working. Safari always says it can't connect to the server. Even from the local machine, when I just click the link directly in the Sharing preferences.
